Murrell "Van" W. Vanscoy 80, of Lewistown, passed from this life peacefully with his wife at his side under the excellent care of Kobacker House in Columbus on July 28, 2019.

He was born on June 17,1939 in Elkins, West Virginia to the late Ottis and Hazel Vanscoy.

Murrell married Kathleen R. Jennings on May 30, 1968 and she survives along with their daughter Tina (David) McPherson and grandchildren Logan and Daniel. He is also survived by his brothers Williard (Charlotte) Vanscoy and Willis (Brenda) Vanscoy and sisters Lynda Cosner and Irene Vanscoy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Freda Vanscoy, brother and sister-in law Francis and Juanita Vanscoy, and brother-in-law Luther Allen Cosner and niece Tamela Cosner Elmore.

Murrell attended school in West Virginia and joined the Air Force. Following the military, he worked in Columbus, Ohio and obtained his private pilot's license. He joined Super Foods and worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed sharing his joy of flying with others, listening to country and blue grass music and watching his grandchildren race quarter midget and modified race cars.

Pastor Rob Starnes officiates a funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 3 at Jennings Farley and Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, following visitation that begins at 9:00 am. Burial is in the Hunstville Cemetery with military honors following.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Champaign Aviation Museum 1652 N. Main Street, Urbana, OH 43078.

Sarah Irene Vanscoy passed from this life on July 10, 2020, at Holbrook on The Hill in Buckhannon. She was a former resident of Elkins.

She was born Jan. 6, 1944, a daughter of the late Ottis and Hazel Mae Smith Vanscoy.

She attended Orlena United Methodist Church as a youth. She was a member of the Candy Stripers with the Davis Memorial Hospital as a teenager. She attended the schools of Randolph County and was later a Foster Grandparent in the Randolph County Schools. Jennings Randolph Elementary was the last school that she worked with.

She is survived by twin daughters, Kelly Barnett of Bend, Oregon, and Kimberly and husband Grayson Samples of Lost Creek. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Emma and Amelia Samples of Lost Creek. Also surviving are two brothers, Williard and Charlotte Vanscoy of Fairmont and Willis and Brenda Vanscoy of Elkins; one sister, Lynda Cosner of Elkins; one sister-in-law, Kathy Vanscoy of Lewistown, Ohio, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Francis and wife Juanita Vanscoy of Elkins, Murrell Vanscoy of Lewistown, Ohio, a brother-in-law Allen Cosner, and a niece Tammy Cosner Elmore, her paternal grandparents, Iddo and Cornelia Isner Vanscoy and her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Martha Lindsey Smith.

At her request, Sarah�s body was donated to West Virginia University Human Gift Registry. At her request, there will be no funeral service.
