1850 - 1870
- Census - Thomas living with parents
Of note about the middle initial for Thomas. In the early
censuses 1850-1870, the middle initial was given as G or O. In
later documents like, city directories, his death certificate, and grave
marker, the initial H is used. It stands for Howard.
Daughter Josephine named her first child after her father, Thomas Howard
Bloor. Sadly, the child passed away at one year old in 1919. |

1910 - Census - In the children living
section of this census, Melinda appears to have two more children
who have died between the 1900 and 1910 Census. This is
incorrect. All 7 children living in the 1900 Census ARE living
during the 1910 Census. This is another subtle fact that shows
that the family has ostracized their son Thomas P and daughter Edna
who are living together with their daughter Minnie E. Son Thomas P
does die in 1910, but not until December. |

1930 - Census - Living in the household of
James Lawrence as a cousin. It is suspected that Joseph
(father of Thomas) had a sister who married a Lawrence. If this was
the case, Thomas was actually more of an uncle. James G
Lawrence was the son of Joseph P Lawrence and Celia Jennie Robins
(Zellia below). The parents of Joseph P Lawrence are Philip
Lawrence and Eliza Kennedy (suspected sister of Joseph Kennedy) |

Children of Thomas Howard Kennedy and
Melinda Apaline Sowers |
| |
Before
reading on about son Thomas Perrin Kennedy and daughter Edna, please be
warned that there is sibling incest. No matter how many times I
have looked at the historical records, it keeps pointing to the same
conclusion.......Between ca 1900 - 1910 Thomas P and Edna Kennedy lived
together as husband and wife and had one daughter Minnie Ethelyn
Kennedy.
If anyone can prove me wrong...... PLEASE PLEASE contact
me. I do not want to think this could have happened and would like
to see proof that will invalidate my conclusion.
I have placed their sections on this page together, out of chronological
birth order, so that researchers can compare the dates and documents
easier without scrolling too far up and down. |

1880 - Census - Living with family
under middle name Perrin.
Birth records on Family Search "Ohio Births and Christening
1821-1962" and "Ohio, County Births 1841-2000" show a Peru
Kennedey born to a Thomas Kennedey and Malinda Lawrence on Mar 23,
1872, Marion, Allen Co., OH. As of May 2017, the actual
document pages for this birth are not available. This birth
date does match up Thomas' birth date given on his death
certificate. |
| |
1900 - Census - Unable to find
Thomas Perrin Kennedy |
| |
1901 - Marries Edna Sowdars???
I have searched through all of the marriage records in Ohio to try
to find a marriage that occurred between a Thomas Kennedy and Edna
Sowers, Sowdars, Sow----. According to the 1910 Census,
Thomas and Edna Kennedy have been married for 9 years.
I do not believe that this Edna is an Edna Sowers. This is
actually Edna Kennedy sister of Thomas. There was only one
Edna Sowers in Ohio at this time and she never married or was in
Franklin Co., OH. Also, what are the odds that the last name
of this Edna would just happen to be her mother's maiden name.
Also of note is the 1910 Census for their parents. "Children
living" has been reduced by 2. See this Census above. |

Even though Edna lived until 1976, she is only mentioned in one of
her sisters' obituaries Emma's in 1950. She is not mentioned
in sister 1) Minnie, d. 1955, 2) Myrtle, d. 1968, 3) Josephine
d. 1969. Which probably means they were not close because of
the incest issue and most likely lost touch with her. |
