until Jane's 1885 marriage, Jane's name was given as Jane or
Jane M. It was Jane M on the marriage record. On the
birth record for 4 of her 5 children it was: Mary J, Mariah J,
Maria J, Maria J. On her grave marker, it is Mariah.
So sometime between her marriage in 1885 and the birth of
her children and the 1900 Census, Jane switched around her
first and middle name. Or perhaps just went by her
middle name after she married.
The death certificate for daughter Lula in 1922 has Jane
Kittle.
I am using the name her parents had given her, in the order
they wanted it to be in the 1860 and 1870 Census. For
28 years, it was Jane M. For only 16 years was it
Mariah Jane.

LUZIER, THOMAS 79, of Wildflower
Drive, Cranston for 50 years, passed away on Thursday
October 27, 2011.
He was the husband of his loving wife and best friend,
Lorraine (Apice) for 54 years.
Thomas and Lorraine loved to travel, and during their
retirement years took several amazing trips. Born in the
Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Marie (Hickman) Tarsio
and the late Derward Luzier. He was a Veteran of the US Navy
serving from 1949 to 1953 in the Korean War. |
After his
service years, he worked in Insurance Claims for 42 years,
holding positions as Manager and Supervisor in the Rhode
Island offices of several insurance companies. Thomas was
also a Founding Member of Holy Apostles Church in Cranston.
His affable personality was enjoyed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his cherished children,
Dennis M. Luzier and his wife Liz and Denise M. Tomaselli.
He was "Gramps" and the best "Fixer" in the world to his six
wonderful grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole, Jason, James,
Christopher and Jessica. Thomas was the brother of Charles
Luzier, Lois Luzier, Rose Mooney and the late Darrel Luzier.
He also leaves his sister-in-law Rose Luzier and several
nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 10am from the
NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles
Church, Cranston at 11am. Burial will be private. VISITING
HOURS Sunday 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial
contributions may be made to Holy Apostles Memorial Society

Corners, GA, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020.
Mrs. Strauss was born March 8, 1964 in Jamaica, New
York to parents Mrs. Lois Luzier and the late Mr.
Thomas Killelea. She was a veteran of the United
States Army.
She was a successful Certified Public Accountant and
was a member of Living Word Baptist Church. |
Survivors include a daughter,
Jeanne Everson; mother, Mrs. Lois Luzier; fiancé, Jim Day; a
sister, Lois Benvenuto; a brother, Kevin Killelea; and an
aunt, Rose Mooney.
A memorial service for Mrs. Strauss will be held on Tuesday,
July 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of the Freeman
Harris Funeral Home with Rev. John Ragland officiating.

Charles (Charlie or Chuck to his
family and friends) passed away unexpectedly on Monday July
9, 2012 at the age of 74 surrounded by loving family
members.
Born in the Bronx NY, he was the son of the late Marie
(Hickman) Tarsio and the late Derward Luzier. He served
honorably in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1961. A carpenter
by trade, Charlie was a self-employed contractor in S.
California and Idaho for many years. Relocating to Kings
County in 1989, he and the love of his life, Nancy were
employed and worked aboard Lemoore Naval Air Station. They
took early retirements in the late 90's and started new
careers as a team in the real estate industry in Kings
County. Charlie served as President of the Kings County
Board of Realtors, as well as past President of the Elks and
Eagle Clubs in S. California. An avid sportsman, he loved
hunting, fishing and his second love – golf.
Charlie was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy and
aunt Jean Quinn, brothers Thomas and Darrel (Buddy) Luzier.
Survivors include from his first marriage, sons Terry and
his wife Cindy (Mesquite NV), Patrick and his wife Heather (Suwanee
GA) and daughter Kerri and husband Danny Wagner (Anza CA);
from his second marriage, son Kent Mallory (Twin Falls, ID)
and daughter Shawnna and husband Joel Charron (Lemoore CA),
sisters Lois Luzier (Cedar Town GA) and Rose and husband Tom
Mooney (Glyndon MD). He is also survived by seven
grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nephews
and nieces.
Per Charlie's wishes, there will be no memorial service. A
private family gathering to celebrate Charlie's life will be
scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers,
remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or
your preferred charity. |

Mr Darrel (Bud) M Luzier 59 of
Charlotte died February 25 1999 at University Hospital
Funeral services will be at 11:00 Am Saturday at Hickory
Grove Baptist Church with Dr Joe Brown and Rev Matthew
Phipps officiating Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service at the church 6050 Hickory Grove Road
Mr Luzier was bon November 24 1939 in Hamilton, Ohio son of
the late Derward M and Marie Josephine Hickman Luzier was a
member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He served in the US
Navy four years, formerly operated Carnby Knitting Mill in
New Jersey 20 years, and was Chief Engineer for the Embassy
Suites in New Jersey and Charlotte.
Mr Luzier loved to fish and golf.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years Rose Luzier children
Deborah Luzier of Hawley PA, Douglas Luzier of Peoria,
Arizona, Mark Luzier of Glendale, Arizona, Paul Luzier
of Charlotte, sisters Lois Luzier of Oviela, FL,
Rose Karolenko of Glyndon, MD, brothers Tom
Luzier of Cranston, Rl and Charles (Chuck) Luzier of
Lemoore, CA, aunt Geneva Quinn of Warwick RI grandchildren
Daniel and Peter Rubenstein, Dale Michael and Brandon Luzier.

the American Lung Assn 5315 Green-brook Dr Charlotte NC

Daniel Michael Luzier, age 20,
of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, died unexpectedly Friday,
September 8. Born in Waterville, ME, he was the son of David
and Deborah (Luzier) Rubenstein, with whom he resided.
Formerly of Skowhegen, Maine, he had been a local resident
for the past eight years. A landscape handyman, he loved to
fish and enjoyed the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother:
Peter Luzier, also at home; maternal grandmother: Rose
Luzier of Charlotte, NC; paternal grandmother: Shirley
Rubenstein of Livingston, NJ; maternal great grandfather:
Charles Gallagher of Toms River, NJ; four uncles: Douglas,
Mark, Paul and Michael; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Darrel Bud
Luzier and Emanuel Rubenstein.
There will be a Graveside Service on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at
2:00 PM at Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, with Rev. Stanley
M. Eskra, Pastor of Cole Memorial Baptist Church,
officiating. |

Hawley, died at the scene after his vehicle went off
Westcolang Road near Fawn Lake in Lackawaxen Township,
flipped and struck a tree Friday evening.
Passengers Timothy Evans, 16, of Hawley, and Frank Spinelli,
18, of Rowland, were treated and released from Wayne
Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.
Police said speed appears to have been a factor in the
