About web pages
Minnie's marriage was to her first cousin George W Isner. When
it comes to first cousins marrying, it causes a problem for me
creating their web pages. In my family tree, both George and Minnie
carry an equal weight. Therefore, emphasizing one side of the
family tree over the other, makes no sense.
If I only create one page for both, it simplifies things. I do
this if the surviving spouse does not remarry and have more
children. In this instance, George W Isner married again after
Minnie Dora's death and had many more children.
Providing this information on Minnie's page makes no sense because
these are not her children.
If I place the same information for all children on each of the
separate pages for Minnie and George, I will have to update two web
pages every time there is an update. This is tedious and makes
the margin for error greater.
Therefore, on
Minnie Dora Kittle's page, I
will place the history of the children she had with George W Isner,
On
George W Isner's page will be the
children he had with his second wife Malissa Jane Smith.
Shared history of George W Isner and Minnie Dora Kittle will be on

records. I even looked up every Bertha born around 1888 in
West Virginia in the 1910 Census, with no luck. Bertha
just disappears. Everyone on ancestry.com that has

locate anyone in this family in the 1920 Census. I
searched by first names and last names. In 1917 on his
WWI Registration, Layton reports that he lives in Randolph
Co., WV with a wife and 2 children.
In 1921 - Etta gives birth to their son Hobart K Menear, Nov
14, 1921 ( He dies a couple weeks later ).
Therefore, at some point in 1921, Etta and Layton were
together. The person notifying the death of Hobart is
Etta's brother Sherman
Layton is also having a relationship with a Letha / Leatha who lives
in Clarksburg in 1925 according to the City Directory.
She also has a daughter, Lillian, from Layton. Layton
disappears from the Census after 1910. Letha / Leatha under
last name Menear is divorced in 1930 and 1940 Census.

tells us life is a gift from God. Ollie (Nina) truly
experienced a long and fruitful life. She saw wars come and
go, clothing styles change and conventions of society
altered. Life wasn’t easy, but she was a survivor, she lived
independently well into her 80’s.She was always curious
about the world and her fellow human beings. She was forth
right in sharing her thoughts and opinions, and wasn’t
afraid to stir things up on occasion.
Preceded in death by husband, Russell Carter; mother,
Marietta Menear; sister, Ora Dorsey; children, Ellen and
Richard.
She is survived by son, Bob (Jenny) Carter; grandchildren,
Bob (Priscilla) Carter, Etta (Mark) Brooks, Tonya (Chris)
Blessing and Mark (Tina) Carter; great-grandchildren, Joe,
Kaitlyn, Kara, Brandon, Brittany, Brice, Rochelle and
Ryan.
A funeral service will be held 2p.m.Friday at Ciriello and
Carr Falls Chapel(810 PortageTr.), where friends may visit

23, 1934 in Coalton, West Virginia, went to heaven
October 14, 2013.
Bob was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for 55 years.
He retired from Alside, Inc., where he worked for 32
years.
Preceded in death by his eldest son, Robert Ellis
Carter, Jr., he leaves behind his wife of 55 years,
Jenny Carter; three children, Etta Brooks, Tonya
Blessing and Mark Carter; eight grandchildren, Joe
Hokes, Kate Richards, Kara Hokes, Brandon Carter,
Brittany Culver, Brice Carter, Rochelle Bridges and
Ryan Smith; |
two great-granddaughters, Carlee
Hokes and Paisley Carter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
at the Anthony Funeral Home McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL,

Virginia (Jenny) Carter, 80. passed away Friday,
March 22, 2019. She was born in Cicerone, West
Virginia and came to Ohio after High School. She was
a longtime resident of Northampton Township-Cuyahoga
Falls and worked at Fishers Cafe in Peninsula for a
number of years.
Jenny was a member of Journey Covenant Church in
Cuyahoga Falls, the Elks Club of Cuyahoga Falls and
the former Northampton Township Fire Department's
Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener and a
fabulous country cook. She loved her family very
much, especially her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. |
She was preceded in death by
her parents, Floyd and Dellie (Moore) Ashby; husband, Robert
Ellis Carter and son, Robert Carter.
She is survived by her children, Etta (Mark) Brooks, Tonya
(Chris) Blessing and Mark (Tina) Carter; daughter-in-law,
Priscilla Carter; sisters, Garnett Whited and Ada Plumley;
grandchildren, Rochelle (Jordan), Ryan, Joe (Shannon), Kate
(Keith), Kara, Brandon (Becky), Brittany (James) and Brice
(Cori); great-grandchildren, Carlee, Joey, Warren, Paisley,
Owen, Sawyer and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews whom she
also dearly loved.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at the
Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow
Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga
Falls, Ohio 44221. Interment at Northampton Cemetery. The

– Robert E. Carter, Jr., 53, of Tipton, passed away
unexpectedly Saturday, March 12, 2011, at his home.
Robert was born July 20, 1957, in Barberton, Ohio,
the son of Robert E. and Patricia (Garcia) Carter,
Sr. After graduating from Barberton High School, he
received a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from
College of Wooster where he was active in the ROTC.
He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
While in the military, he completed his Master’s
Degree. |
On May 19, 2001, Robert married
Priscilla Alborn Smith in Barberton, Ohio, she survives.
Bob was a member of Grace Point Evangelical Free Church. He
served on the Board of Directors of the Waterloo Horseman
Association and also as a 4-H Leader.
For over 20 years, he worked in sales. Recently he became a
teacher’s aide for the Lenawee Intermediate School District,
where he loved working with the students.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by their children,
Rochelle Smith and her fiancé, Jordan Bridges, and Ryan
Smith, all of Marquette, MI; his father, Robert (Jenny)
Carter, Sr. of Akron, OH; siblings: David (Doreen) Greenlee
of Vincent, OH; Etta (Mark) Brooks of Akron, OH; Tonya
(Chris) Blessing of Bennett, CO; and Mark (Tina) Carter of
Swartz Creek, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
The funeral service for Bob will be held at 1:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Grace Point Evangelical Free
Church with Pastor John Trimble officiating. Visitation will
be held at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian on Tuesday from 2
to 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Bob may be made to the
Waterloo Horseman Association for trail restoration or to
Grace Point Evangelical Free Church. Envelopes will be

Howard S. Kittle, 81, of 1104
1/2 S. Henry Ave., Elkins, passed away Monday, May 26, 2003,
at 2 p.m. in his residence. He had been in his usual health
and death was sudden and unexpected.
Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Kerens, he was the only child of the
late Sheridan L. and Lillie M. Fansler Kittle.
Mr. Kittle never married. He is survived by three very close
friends: Louise Higgins of Montrose, and Glenn and Ruth
Teter of Elkins.
Mr. Kittle was a former resident of Lakewood, Ohio, and was
employed by the City National Bank in Cleveland, Ohio, as a
security officer until he retired in 1986.
He was a graduate of the Downtown Detective and Security
Guard Academy in Cleveland and was a private detective for
the William J. Burns Detective Agency, also in Cleveland,
prior to his employment with City National Bank.
Mr. Kittle was a train enthusiast, loved music, including
country and religious, and had a passion for old comedy
shows and reading. He was a humorous, giving and kind man.
Mr. Kittle was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist
Church and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home on
Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The
Rev. Leon Hevener, pastor of the Otterbein United Methodist
Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Israel
Church Cemetery in Kerens. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church in
memory of Mr. Kittle. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in
charge of the arrangements for Howard S. Kittle. |
