Sandra Lou Hunt Ridgeway Buck 63, of 307 Woodland Court Woodsfield, OH died at her home Sunday April 1, 2007.

She was born to the late Theodore Wesley and Mary Lou Casto Hunt on September 19, 1944 at Owings, West Virginia. Sandy was a graduate of River High School class of 1962 and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons William Ridgeway Jr. of Salina, KS, and Glen Richard Ridgeway of Hilliard, OH, one daughter Mary E. Buck of Marietta, OH. She has one grandson Gerald William Ridgeway and three granddaughters Erica Dawn, Rachel Nichole and Davee Ann Ridgeway. There are two sister Betty Robinson (Larry) of Duffy, OH and Nancy Langsdorf (Roger) of Antioch, OH. She has two brothers Jim Hunt of Clarington, OH and Ted Hunt of Sardis, OH.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands William L. Ridgeway died August 30, 1978 and Gerald R. Buck who died January 21, 1988.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday April 5, 2007 at Hadley Funeral Home 700 Main St. New Matamoras, OH, with Rev. Frank Conley officiating and burial to follow in Matamoras Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Wednesday April 4, 2007 at the funeral home.

SHINNSTON -- Jeffrey Lynn "Hick" Hickman, 41, of Independence, died at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness.

He was born April 20, 1959, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Ira Franklin and Ruth Izena Elza Hickman.

His wife, Kim Anne McDilda Hickman, whom he married April 18, 1981, survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey L. Hickman Jr., Eric L. Hickman, both at home; one stepson, Timothy Trader, Morgantown; one stepdaughter, Tonya Trader at home; one grandson, Timothy Trader Jr.; five brothers, Alfred Hickman, Curtis Hickman, both of Wyatt, Virgil Hickman, Oakdale, Sidney Hickman, Wallace, and Kenneth Hickman, Lake Orion, Mich.; three sisters, Sharon Holbert, Lake Orion, Ruth Underwood, Wyatt, Barbara Wheeler, Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, David and Earl Hickman.

Mr. Hickman had been a construction worker and was a four-year member of the Pagan Motorcycle Club.

Friends may call at the Dorsey Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-9 p.m. Friday, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.

Tonya Anne Trader, 45, of Independence, WV passed away at Ruby Memorial Hospital May 21, 2020 from a brief illness. She was born July 25, 1974 a daughter of Kim Anne Hickman and the late David Leroy Trader.

Tonya is survived by her mother Kim; brother, Tim Trader; two stepbrothers, Eric Hickman & Jeff Hickman Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and a nephew.

In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her stepfather Jeff Hickman.

Tonya’s life touched the hearts of all those that interacted with her.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation services. The family will have a private memorial service. Please contact the family for location and time specifics.

Gerald Everett ‘Bud’ McDilda, Jr., 58 of Morgantown, Brookhaven Community, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. Bud was born in Morgantown on December 11, 1960, son to Gerald E. ‘Bud’ Sr., and Theirtha ‘Tiny’ Husk McDilda.

Bud was a graduate of Morgantown High School and worked as a machinist for over 40 years, most recently with Swanson Plating for the past 27 years as a CNC operator. Bud had a work ethic like no other.
It wasn’t unusual for Bud to put in as many as 16 hours a day. He took great pride in his work and was a responsible employee. He rarely missed a shift and would never make an excuse to call off.

He was a fan of NASCAR during the Dale Earnhardt years and loved trips to Myrtle Beach. It wasn’t the sand as much as the sound of the ocean that made this one of his favorite places. Bud could be spontaneous at times, planning trips or events for a family surprise but always humble and kind. He would often pick up the checks of Veterans who were dining in the same restaurant and never say a word. His kind, compassionate spirit will be missed by those who knew him best and those he never met.

In the last four years, he and his wife would load up the Trike and travel as much as 1400 miles in a weekend. They enjoyed the open road and simply being together.

He leaves to carry on his legacy his wife of 37 years, Mrs. Donna Boyd McDilda; his favorite daughter Kristina M. ‘Miss Blue’ McDilda and Jeremy Monk all of Morgantown; one son Gerald E. ‘Bud’ McDilda, III and wife Crystal of Waynesboro, VA; one granddaughter, Ms. Abigail Dawn ‘Abs’ McDilda; three brothers, Robert Clendenin and wife Madelyn of New Port News, VA, Lee Clendenin and wife Dixie and Bert Clendenin and wife Kathy all of Morgantown.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Theirtha; sister-in-law Susan J. Kempa and a niece Amber D. Merrill

The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, October 20, 2019, from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 pm and again on Monday from 10 am until time of services at 11 am with Pastor John Brosky officiating. Bud will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.

Glennis (Glenn) McDilda, 84 of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Pursglove, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC while vacationing with his family in Myrtle Beach.

Glenn was born May 19, 1932 in Pursglove, WV. He was the son of the late George H. and Leila V. Everett McDilda. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Alice McDilda, July 19, 2012 and they are now “Together Again.”
He was a loving husband, father, and pap. He was a man of many skills from woodworking to machinistgeorge. He enjoyed working around the yard and tinkering in his garage. There wasn’t anything that he didn’t know or couldn’t do. He worked various jobs in his lifetime but most recently he retired from Walmart where he worked as a Door Greeter for 15 years. Even after his retirement he looked forward to going to Walmart and greeting customers no matter what store he was in. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, golf, game shows and last but not least, General Hospital.

Glenn is survived by his son, David Glenn McDilda and wife Lori of Pursglove, WV; his daughter Donna Kay Stewart and husband Robert “Bob” of Martinsburg, WV; his grandson, David Glenn McDilda, Jr. and fiancée Stacey Hoover of Masontown, WV; and his granddaughter Melissa Jo (McDilda) Bachman and husband Tyler of Pursglove, WV.

He is also survived by one brother William R. and wife Freda McDilda, two sisters, Shirley Forbes and husband Jack and Sandra Casteel and husband Steve all of Morgantown; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles R. Himes, Jr. and wife Louise of Espyville, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Mary and his parents Glenn was also preceded in death by his brother, George Jr., and wife Geraldine; brother Gerald E., Sr. and wife Theirtha; brother Kenneth and wife Minnie; and brother Howard and wife Patricia as well as his in-laws, Hazel B. Hollick and Charles R. Himes, Sr.

Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5-8pm and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. with the Rev. Loretta Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery.

Kenneth E. "Mac" McDilda, Sr. Of Elkton, MD. Age 64. Died Wednesday, July 7, 1999 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes of sudden cardiac arrest.

He was born in Pursglove, WV on Dec. 22, 1934. Mr. McDilda retired with 32 years of service from Acme Market in Rising Sun, MD, and with 35 years of service from the Perry Point VA Medical Center. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Elkton, where he was active in the Men for Missions. He enjoyed camping, flowers and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Minnie McDilda; 2 sons, Kenneth E. McDilda, Jr. and Bryan H. McDilda; 3 grandchildren, Kristie McDilda, Stephanie N. McDilda and Jason Baldwin; and 6 siblings, Howard D. McDilda, Sr., William McDilda, Sandra Castelle, Gerald McDilda, Glennis McDilda and Shirley Forbes.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nola Jane McDilda.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sat. July 10 at 11 a.m. at CROUCH FUNERAL HOME, 127 South Main St. North East, MD. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 9 from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery. Ms. Wilda Isabelle (Glendenning) Delauder age 84 years a resident of Norton, WV, departed this life Saturday October 27, 2012 at her residence. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected.

She was born February 25, 1928 a daughter of the late Frank and Goldie L. (McDilda) Glendenning.

She is survived by one son Jerry Ware of Norton and one brother Clarence R. Glendenning of Newton Falls, OH; two sisters Opal Papandria of Philippi and Elsie Cottrill and husband Carson of Bridgeport.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one infant son Wendell L. Ware.

Ms. Delauder was a homemaker and was last employed at Mountain Mama’s Restaurant in Belington. She attended the schools of Barbour County, and was full gospel by faith. She will be remembered for her love of her feline companions.

At the request of the deceased her remains will be cremated and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Animal Friends of Barbour County P.O. Box 452. Philippi, WV 26416. Interment of her cremains will be in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery at Junior WV. Condolences may be made to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home of Belington is in charge of the arrangements

Joseph Frank Papandrea, 79, a resident of Philippi, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003, in Broaddus Hospital Long Term Care.

He was born March 3, 1924, in Toronto, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Sarah Bonetine Papandrea.
He was united in marriage to the former Opal Glendening, who survives.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise Papandrea, Weirton; two stepdaughters, Susie Cross, Philippi, and Judy Williams of Virginia; one son, Terry Papandrea of Alma; three stepsons, David Spencer of Elliott City, Md., John Workman and Clevin Workman, both of Philippi; and three sisters, Elizabeth McVann, Toronto, Ohio, Judy Papandrea, Toronto, Ohio, and Mae Defallo, Steubenville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by one son, Greg Papandrea; four sisters, Katherine Terasky, Dorothy Hayes and two infants; one brother, Vincent Papandrea; and one stepdaughter, Robin Croston.

He was retired from Weirton Steel Mill. He served with the U.S. Army. He was a Catholic by faith.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or service. His body will be cremated. Cremains will be returned to Toronto, Ohio, to be interred in the family cemetery. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. From 10 and 11 Jun 2003.

Robin Leah Workman Croston, 45, of Belington, died at 10:13 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.

Ms. Croston was born June 15, 1956, in Philippi, a daughter of Opal J. Glendening Workman Papandrea, who survives in Philippi, and the late John S. Workman.

She was formerly married to Clyde “Bud” Croston, who survives in Mill Creek.

Also surviving are her stepfather, Joseph Papandrea, Philippi; two sisters, Susie Cross, Philippi, and Mrs. Homer (Judy) Williams, Gloucester, Va.; and three brothers, John Workman, Donald Workman and Calvin and wife, Diane Workman, all of Philippi.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gerald Cross.

Ms. Croston was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

Funeral Arrangements: There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Elkins Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. 26505. Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi is in charge of the arrangements.

BRIDGEPORT — Sylvia Pearl Cottrill, 54, and Carson “Junior” Cottrill, 55, of W. Philadelphia Avenue, Bridgeport, passed away hand-in-hand on Tuesday afternoon, September 14, 2010, in the United Hospital Center, both following extended illnesses.

Pearl was born in Philippi on May 25, 1956, a daughter of the late Andrew Jay and Elsie Waybright Mitchell.

Junior was born in Clarksburg on May 9, 1955, a son of Carson Elmer and Elsie Marie Glendenning Cottrill, who survive in Bridgeport.

Pearl and Junior were married on February 3, 1973.

They are survived by three children, their daughter, Tonya Rana Scott Cottrill and her fiancé Jamie of Bridgeport, two sons, Carson Andy Cottrill and his wife Pam of Jones Run, Lumberport, and Ernest (Ernie) Cottrill and his wife Amy of Nutter Fort; 8 grandchildren, Alicia and Angel Cottrill of Lumberport, Dale, Jocie, Chloe and Leroy Carson Cottrill of Nutter Fort, and Cheyenne and Shelby Scott of Bridgeport.

Pearl is also survived by three brothers, Dallas Andrew Mitchell and his fiancé JoAnn Kidder of Bridgeport, Walter Gay Mitchell and his wife Norma of North Carolina, and Clifford Allen Mitchell and his wife Peggy of South Carolina; three sisters, Ann Williams and her husband Jerry of Ohio, Clara Weaver Palmer of Flemington and Genny Gates of Utah.

Junior is also survived by two sisters, Annagale Shingleton and her husband Billy of Maple Lake and Velva Shreves and her husband Timmy of Bridgeport; three brothers, David Cottrill of Parkersburg, James Cottrill and his wife Patricia of Mt. Clare, and Bobby Cottrill of Parkersburg.

Pearl and Junior attended school at Johnson Grade School, Bridgeport Junior High and Bridgeport High School. Pearl also received training at the Child Resource Center of Harrison County. Pearl was an in-home day care provider through the WVDCRR of Harrison County. She was well liked by all who knew her and would help anyone she could. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, who called her Aunt Pearly. They loved to play with her and help her in her garden.

Junior retired from the City of Bridgeport on May 13, 2010, as a meter reader after 36 years of service. He loved spending time with his grandkids and his dog, Oreo.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, on Saturday, September 18, 2010, from 2-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday with Reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding.

Tonya Cottrill and Trevor Ables were united in marriage at 1 p.m. June 6, 2015, at Hinkle and Deegan Lake in Bridgeport by Lloyd Ingleheart.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Ernie Cottrill.

The wedding was done in camo.

Maid of honor was Kelly Ables of Bridgeport, mother of the bridegroom.

Bridesmaids were Cheyanne Scott, Bridgeport, daughter of the bride, Ashley Boram, Bridgeport, girlfriend of Cheyanne, Alexis Richards, Clarksburg, cousin of the bridegroom, and Tee Jay Hall, Clarksburg. Junior bridesmaids were Shelby Scott, Bridgeport, daughter of the bride, and Kali Gabriel, Clarksburg, cousin of the bridegroom.
