pleasant ,based on the number of baby girls that were given
away for adoption (3 known) or died as a stillborn or infant
(2 known), or were born but could find no other info on (1
known). That is a total of 6 girls that I found.
The three adopted girls, Martha, Caroline and Connie, are shown below with their adopted
names.
The two girls who died as infant or stillborn, Phyllis and
Baby Girl, are below with
their death certificates.
The one girl that disappeared after I found the only
record for them, Sharon L, is listed below.

Christine L. Arthur, affectionately known as Cris to
her friends and family, graced this world with her
lively spirit on January 5, 1958, in Youngstown,
Ohio. It is with a heavy heart that we announce her
peaceful passing on December 12, 2024, in her
hometown of Youngstown, surrounded by the warmth of
her loved ones.
Cris was a beacon of joy and laughter in the lives
of all who knew her. Raised by her devoted mother,
Theresa Arthur, alongside her brother, Mark and
sister, Phyllis Starr, Cris developed a zest for
life that was contagious. Her family grew to include
her cherished daughter, Jennifer, who was the apple
of her eye, and her adored Chihuahua, Willow, who
was her constant and loyal companion. Cris also
leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces
and nephews along with many extended family and
friends. |
She was a proud graduate of
Girard High School in 1976. From 1998 - 2016, Cris lived in
Las Vegas, Nevada. Cris's thirst for knowledge and
self-improvement led her back to academia later in life. She
achieved a remarkable milestone by earning a bachelor's
degree in Retail Management from Strayer University in 2020,
a testament to her determination and resilience.
Professionally, Cris dedicated herself to the Clark County
School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she contributed
her time and talents as a Special Programs Teaching
Assistant working with special needs children. Her patience,
empathy, and creativity in this role left an indelible mark
on the hearts of her students and colleagues alike.
Cris's passions and interests were as eclectic and vibrant
as her personality. She was a true aficionado of classic
rock 'n' roll, finding joy and solace in the tunes that
defined a generation. Her love for the silver screen was
evident in her extensive movie collection, which she curated
with great care and enthusiasm. A social butterfly, Cris
reveled in the thrill of bingo nights and the excitement of
the casino. Deuces wild video poker was her game of choice,
where she displayed her sharp wit and infectious laughter,
much to the delight of those around her. Her home was a
treasure trove, reflecting her spirited nature through her
various collections. Dolls, miniatures, movies, and
Christmas decorations were among the cherished items that
she gathered with love and pride. Each piece told a story, a
narrative of her adventures, her dreams, and her creative
spirit.
Those who knew Cris will remember her as a woman of humor
and heart. She approached life with a sense of fun and an
unwavering spirit that inspired others to find happiness in
the small moments. Her creativity shone through in all her
endeavors, leaving a legacy of beauty and imagination for
all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Cris's memory will
be held dear by her loving family, including her mother
Theresa, her brother, Mark, her sister, Phyllis, her
daughter, Jennifer, and her little Willow. Her absence
leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will
continue to live on in the stories shared, the laughter
remembered, and the love she left behind.
As we bid farewell to Christine L. Arthur, we celebrate the
remarkable woman she was and the countless lives she
touched. Cris's journey on this earth may have ended, but
her legacy of joy, love, and laughter will resonate for
generations to come.
There will be a celebration of life at St. Rose Church on
January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow for
all who wish to attend. |

was actually born in Huntington, WV. No way to
know for sure until the birth records for Cabell
Co., WV, 1937 are released online. She never
appears with her other siblings in Census data.
I first looked for a Martha Arrowood, after she was
mentioned in brother Jerry's obituary. I then
looked for death records for anyone named Martha
Arrowood. This is when I found her 2002
obituary, that was still available on the web.
Within this obit are the names of some of the other Arthur children.
I then looked for the parents of Martha named in the
obituary: Harry and Anna (Simpson) Beckett. In
the 1940 Census for this couple, Martha is named as
their "Adopted Daughter" |

at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for
Martha R. Arrowood of Girard who passed away on
Saturday at Forum Northside Hospital.
Martha was
born March 25, 1937 in Brookfield, OH the daughter
of Harry and Anna (Simpson) Beckett. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Girard Eagles # 2172,
The Niles Moose Lodge, and The Girard Fraternal
Order of Police.
Besides her husband Jim, whom she
married February 17, 1963, Martha leaves six
children: Nancy Grega of Hubbard, Patricia Fizet of
Austintown, Ronald Nicholson of New Castle, PA.,
Sandra Capperes of Hubbard, Robert Arrowood of
Niles, and Marsha Branch of Mineral Ridge.
She also leaves three sisters of Girard: Carol
Kuntz, and Diane and Karen Arthur. Martha
also leaves three brothers: Jerry Arthur of
Girard, Gary Arthur of New Castle, and Carl John
Arthur of Niles, as well as 15 grandchildren and
9 great-grandchildren. Martha also leaves her
beloved dog Bingo. She was preceded in death by her
parents and two grandchildren. Friends may call from

Keith E. Fizet 43 Keith Fizet, 43, passed away
unexpectedly on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
He left behind
a wife, Sonia Fizet, four children: Stepson, Dakota
Kellerman; sons, Kody (Zwilling) and Ayden Fizet,
and his daughter Jayde Fizet. Also his mother
Patricia Fizet and stepfather Michael Case. His
brothers Michael Nicholson (Chrissy Nicholson), Pat
Fizet (Tiffany Sandrock), sister Tina Fizet (Ray
Bowser) and stepsister Cheri Case.
Many nieces and
nephews that were very special to him; Ashley Miller
(her children Ashtyn "fartface", Alleena, and
Adalynn), Anna Holtzman, Nico Fizet, Adrianna and
Gage Nicholson (Holly Untch), Kyleigh and Devon
Anderson (Kelly Anderson), Kessa Fizet, Anthony
Evans, Denzel Case, Lana, Darrick, and Derrian
Thomas, and Jermaine Wolmack. And so many aunts,
uncles, cousins, and friends that were family to
Keith. |
Keith loved everyone he met, he never knew a
stranger, and never let anyone feel left out. His
smile and laugh were contagious. He was one of the
best story tellers anyone would ever meet; he could
make you feel like you were there even if you
weren't. He would give you the shirt off his back if
you needed it, even if he just thought you needed
it. He had a huge heart, loved spending time with
his children, his nieces, nephews, and his family
and friends. He was truly the life of the party and
loved life. He enjoyed fishing, camping, horses, the
Canfield Fair, and anything that involved
adrenaline, excitement, and maybe borderline
legality.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Clarence Fizet, his paternal grandparents, Viola and
Edward Fizet, and his maternal grandparents, Ronald
Nicholson and Martha Arrowood. There will be a bit
of sunshine missing everywhere, most people won't
know why, but the Fizet family and the people who
loved him, we will know, and in our sadness, we will
thank God that even though it wasn't long enough, we
got to share his light.
Friends may call 5 to 7 PM
Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel
were services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday. In
lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be
made to the family for a fund set up for his

HUBBARD – Jerry G. Arthur,
74, formerly of Girard, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at
Liberty Health Care Center.
He was born March 13, 1938, in Huntington, W.Va., the son of
the late Carl and Dorothy McCoy Arthur. He was a veteran in
the Navy. He worked for U.S. Steel and McDonald Steel for 50
years. Jerry was a member of the Church of the Rock in
Poland and the Girard and Niles Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing, watching westerns starring
John Wayne and singing along with Johnny Cash.
He is survived by his wife, the former Brenda Thomas, whom
he married Oct. 28, 2006; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Sicilian of
Liberty Township and Linda (Robert) Brammer of Huntington,
W.Va.; a son, Jerry Arthur of Huntington; step daughters,
Heather Seno of Youngstown and Kelly Huffman of Hubbard;
|
grandchildren, Steven, Justin, Carly Sicilian, Shawn and
Zachary Brammer, Annika Smith, Ava, London and Delilah Seno.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol A. Mills
Arthur, whom he married April 10, 1963, and she passed away
June 28, 2005; sister, Martha Arrowood; and brother, Buddy
Arthur. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24,
2012, at 11 a.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will
receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery with military

this family, I started digging a little deeper into
the births and deaths of children named Arthur in
Trumbull/Mahoning Co., OH and Cabell Co., WV for the
years 1933-1949.
In the OH Birth index during this period, only the
father's first name was added to the record. I
limited my search to first name "Carl". I
found France Arthur, b. Jul 6, 1943 (Another Carl), Caroline
Arthur, b. Mar 26, 1945, and Connie Arthur, b. Jun
2, 1948. I was not sure if Carl Cledith
Arthur was the father of any of these children.
In the obituary for sister Martha Arrowood, she
mentions a sister Carol Kuntz in Girard. A
quick internet search and I found the obituary below
for Caroline E Kuntz who was born March 26, 1945.

Caroline E. Kuntz, 78, of
Girard, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at her home
surrounded by her family.
Carol was born March 26, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, the
daughter of Lester and Helen (Benson) Scott. Carol had
worked various jobs in her lifetime, including Perry's
Flower Shop in Girard. She was a member of the Girard
Fraternal Order of Eagles #2172. Carol was an avid bingo
player and enjoyed her flowers and cooking.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert L.
Kuntz, whom she married February 2, 1984; her children,
Chris Dunlap of Girard, Beverly Sheridan of Girard, Ricky
Michaels of Austintown and Ron (Kami) Michaels of
Austintown; sister Pam Bartholomew of Niles; brother Chuck
Scott of Struthers; and 10 grandchildren. Besides her
parents, Carol is preceded in death by her brothers, Larry,
Robert, Randall and Lester Scott Jr, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 13th, 11:00
AM at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive

Andrew
“AJ” Hall, 27, of Girard, passed away suddenly on
Saturday, April 9, 2022.
AJ was born June 1, 1994 in Youngstown, OH, a son to
Andrew Hall and Karla (Moore) Kondilas. He was a
2012 graduate of Girard High School. AJ enjoyed
hanging out with his brothers, playing games, and
exercising.
AJ will be sadly missed by his mother, Karla (Steve)
Kondilas; brothers, Tommy and Mikey Hall; father,
Andrew Hall; grandmother, Karen Moore; grandparents,
Tommy and JoAnn Trucksis; step brother, Stevie
Kondilas; step sister, Carissa Kondilas; and 3
nephews Brantley, Kail, and Brody that he loved very
much. |
He is preceded in death by his
grandfathers Melvin Moore and Rick Hall.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday,
April 14th, 5-6 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard
followed by a memorial service. |
