Delbert E. Wilkinson, 91, of
Sandyville went to be with the Lord Monday, June 22, 2009,
at Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley, following a long
illness.
He was born February 24, 1918, in Jackson County, a son of
the late John R. and Lizzie Kittle Wilkinson.
He was a laborer in the oil industry and also worked in
construction and was a farmer. He was a member of the
Fairview Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
wife, Clarestine G. (Angus) Wilkinson; granddaughter Melinda
Williams; and brothers and sisters Carlston, Orland,
Clifford, Raymond and Charles Wilkinson and Erma Fleak,
Macel Wright, Zona Cline and Velma Kittle.
He is survived by a son, Donald W. Wilkinson, of Mineral
Wells; daughters Doris Wines of Sandyville and Ava Durback
of Ripley; brother Milford B. Wilkinson of Sandyville; and
sisters Anna Nuzum of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, and Correne
Wright of Parkersburg. He is also survived by his
grandchildren Jason, Josh and Zach Durback, Jessalyn
Stephens, Paul Wines Jr., Brian Wines, Rhonda Morrison and
Mary Dawson; 16 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26,
at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Bud McVey
officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence
Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the funeral home. |

Doris Faye Wilkinson Wines, of
Sandyville, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb.
24, 2015, after an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 27, 1945, in Parkersburg. She was a
homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She made
the best jellies and jams and loved to share them with
family friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and
Clarestine Angus Wilkinson. She ironically left this earthly
world for a better place on her father’s birthday.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Paul
Wines Sr.; her three children, Robert Paul Jr. (Beth), Brian
Keith (Cathy), and Rhonda Gayle Morrison (Paul), all of
Sandyville; grandchildren, Megan Morrison (Nathan), Caleb
Morrison (Tara), Katelin Wines, Amanda Wines, and Brody
Wines; great-grandchildren, Presley Wines, Braylen Morrison,
Britain Casto, Harley Wines, Bailey Casto, and Adalyn
Morrison. She is also survived by her brother, Donald
Wilkinson (Sharon) of Mineral Wells; sister, Ava Durback
(Greg) of Ripley; numerous nieces and nephews; and her
family pet, Precious, whom she adored.
A celebration of Doris’ life will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday,
Feb. 27, at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, where friends
may call on the family. Funeral Services will be held at 12
Noon, Saturday, Feb. 28, at Waybright Funeral Home, with
Rev. Bud McVey officiating along with Tommy Nutter. Doris
will be laid to rest in Independence Cemetery in Sandyville
with her parents. |

Paul
Robert Wines, Sr., 82 of Sandyville, WV passed away
peacefully at home on October 7, 2024 after an
extended illness.
He was born at home in Jackson County on November 4,
1941 to Roy and Edith McPherson Wines. He graduated
from Gilmore High School in 1958. He then entered
the Air Force and served for 4 years. He later went
to work at Kaiser Aluminum and retired after 37
years of service from Constellium. He loved farming
and over the years he raised tobacco, many
vegetables as well as several head of cattle. He
enjoyed picking blackberries and woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris
Faye Wilkinson Wines, a son Brian Keith and a
granddaughter Amanda Brooke Poling, brothers
Charles, Jim and Larry Dean and sister Helen Wyant.

He is survived by his sister Sue
Stockholm, oldest son Paul, Jr. and his wife Beth, daughter
Rhonda Gayle Anthony and her husband Paul, grandchildren
Megan (Nathan) Casto, Katelin Wines, Caleb (Tara) Morrison
and Brody Wines, great grandchildren Britain Casto, Braylen
Casto, Bailey Casto, Presley Wines, Harley Wines, Addison
Morrison, Axel Morrison, and Virgil Poling.

Amanda Brooke “Mandi” Wines
Poling, age 27, of Beavercreek, died of an unexplained
illness Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home.
She was a 2009 graduate of Ripley High School in Ripley,
West Virginia. She also received a bachelor’s degree in
fashion marketing from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
A stay-at-home loving mother and creative entrepreneur, she
operated her own on-line fashion and apparel business since
high school. Mandi was known for inspiring and educating
healthy lifestyles with nutrition, holistic approaches and
all-styles of music. She was an articulate encourager as
evidenced through her webpages and blogs. Above all, she was
a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister.
Mandi was the most caring person to everyone in her life.
She poured her heart into her son, Virgil. She devoted every
moment of her days to making him smile, learn and grow. She
enjoyed spending time with her husband and son outside in
nature exploring and taking daily walks, cooking and
providing a safe, loving home for her family. She was always
there to lend a helping hand, encouraging words or listen to
others. Her kind heart and devotion to others will leave a
lasting impact.
She was born July 11, 1991 in Charleston, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Peggy Presley
and Doris Wines.
She is survived by her husband, Cale Eric Poling, whom she
married July 25, 2016 in Columbus; her son, Virgil Clyde
Poling; her mother, Kelli Presley Hall of Ripley, West
Virginia; her father, Paul (Beth) Wines; her sister, Katelin
Wines; her brother, Brody Wines; her grandfathers James
Presley and Bob “Papal” Wines; a sister-in-law, Erin (David)
Holmes; a brother-in-law, Mick (Lynsey) Poling; two nephews,
Presley and Harley; mother-and father-in-law, Karla and Gary
Poling; her grandmother-in-law, Betty Poling; numerous aunts
and uncles and other relatives and friends; and her pet cat,
Lamb.
The family will hold a memorial service in Ripley, West
Virginia at a later date. Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East
Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio 43040 is assisting the
family. Memorial contributions may be made to her son
Virgil’s college fund in care of the family. |

He was born in Ripley, WV on February 22, 1967 to
Paul Robert and Doris Faye Wilkinson Wines of
Sandyville.
He was a long- time employee of Wal-Mart of Ripley.
He served in the Army where he later became a
reservist. After the Army he was a long-haul trucker
for Conway Trucking.
He is preceded in death by his mother Doris,
grandparents Roy and Edith Wines and Delbert and
Clarestine Wilkinson, his niece Amanda Brooke Wines
Poling. |
He is survived by his father,
his fiancé Ella Shamblin, his brother Paul Jr (Beth), sister
Rhonda Anthony (Paul), Katie Jean Heilmann, nieces and
nephews Katelin Wines, Megan Casto, Caleb Morrison, Brody
Wines, Lincoln Heilmann, Cora Jean Heilmann and numerous
great nieces and nephews.
Private services for close family and friends will be held
Friday, October 2nd with Tommy Nutter officiating. Burial
with Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor
Guard be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. In
accordance with the Governor’s guidelines masks will be
required at the services. |

19, 2021 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born August 19, 1954 in Charleston, WV the
son of the late Albert J. and Barbara Jean (Donovan)
Durback. In addition to his parents, he was also
preceded in death by his brother, Michael W. “Bill’
Durback.
Greg was a 1972 graduate of Ripley High School and
would later retire from Kelly Paving and the City of
Ripley. He was a member of the Operating Engineers
Union and the Mountain Top Ministries, Ripley. He
enjoyed basketball and spending time with his
children and grandchildren. |

years, Ava Joan (Wilkinson) Durback; children, Jason Durback
(Tina), Josh Durback (Cassie), Zack Durback (Missy) and
Jessalyn Stephens (Jeremy); grandchildren, Anthony, Brandon,
Julie, Isabella, McKenzie, Erin, Gracie, Ariah, Sylas,
Kailey, Kelsey, and Kye Durback and Selah and Haven
Stephens; sisters, Darlene Orendorf, Cindy Miller (Donnie)
and Diane Franklin.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021
at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV with Pastor Jack
Quesenberry officiating. |
