Lloyd L. Wilkinson, 75, of
Evans, died Sunday, March 13, 2005.
Lloyd was born January 2, 1930 in Sandyville, son of the
late Raymond and Maysel Pursley Wilkinson. He was a steel
worker with Republic Steel with 30 years of service. He was
an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the
American Legion. He was a member of the Fairview Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernice Sayre
Wilkinson; two sons, Gary Wilkinson of Evans and Lynn
Wilkinson of Canton, Ohio; two brothers, Russell Wilkinson
of Ravenswood and Carl Wilkinson of Washington, WV; three
sisters, Ellen Rodrigez of Florida, Karen Eurd of Orlando,
Florida and Ruth Lathey of Ripley; one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Wilkinson. A
private family service will be held at Vail Funeral Home,
Ripley. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Leroy, with
full military service by American Legion Post #107, Ripley. |

Russell Lee Wilkinson, 73, of
Ravenswood went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on
Aug. 24, 2006, from Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after
a long illness.
He was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Leroy, W.Va., a son of the
late Raymond Lester and Maysel Pursley Wilkinson. He was a
member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ravenswood, where he
served as an usher for many years. He was a corporal in the
U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 351/2
years from Kaiser Aluminum and Century Aluminum in
Ravenswood. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local
Union 6688. He loved farming, fishing, hunting and spending
time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty
Patterson Wilkinson of Ravenswood; son, Timothy Lee
Wilkinson of Leroy; daughter, Beverly Ann Collins of Racine,
Ohio; two grandchildren, Chance Logan Collins and Merri
Kathleen Collins; brother, Carl Wilkinson and his wife,
Jean, of Washington, W.Va.; sisters, Ellen Rodriguez and her
husband, Fidel, of Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Karen Curd of The
Villages, Fla., and Ruth Wilkinson of Ripley; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
daughter, Deborah Jo Wilkinson Mullins; and two brothers,
Lloyd Wilkinson of Evans, W.Va., and Louie Wilkinson of
Fayetteville, N.C.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Roush Funeral
Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Fred Basnett Jr.
officiating. Burial will be in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. today at the
funeral home. |

Mrs. Deborah Jo Wilkinson
Mullins, 32, of Sissonville, died Friday in St. Francis
Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Wood County. She attended North Hill Baptist
Church in Sissonville. She was a secretary.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph W. Mullins, Jr.;
parents, Russell L. and Betty Joann Patterson Wilkinson of
Ravenswood; one sister, Beverly Collins of Portland, OH; one
brother, Timothy Wilkinson of Ravenswood; paternal
grandparents, Raymond L. and Macel Wilkinson of Leroy.
Services were Monday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home. Burial
was in the Ravenswood Cemetery. |

Rodriguez, Fidel of Orlando, FL, died on Monday,
June 13, 2016 at the age of 85.
He was born on March 22, 1931 in Monterrey, Mexico.
He earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of
Medicine degrees from the University of Nuevo Leon
in Monterrey, Mexico. Fidel completed his General
Surgery residency at Ohio Valley General Hospital in
Wheeling, WV culminating with his appointment as
Chief General Surgery Resident.
In 1959 he married Virginia Ellen Wilkinson of
Leroy, West Virginia after meeting her at Camden
Clark Memorial Hospital, in Parkersburg, WV where
she worked as a nurse. They were married for 57
years. |
Fidel dedicated his professional
life to General Surgery for over 35 years. His career began
in Wilmington, DE and took him to Grantsville, WV and later
to St. Cloud/Kissimmee, FL. He served as Chief of Surgery
and was on the Board of Trustees at many hospitals
throughout his career. He continued his life’s work as the
Vitas Hospice Inpatient Medical Director in Orlando, FL
retiring in 2008.
He was a member of numerous national and local medical
societies and associations and was named a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons. Fidel lived his life with
enthusiasm, trust and faith in God. He was a devoted
husband, loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed and
cherished time spent with the grandchildren and will be
greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, his 4 children; Paul
Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Patty Mitchell, Michael
Rodriguez and his 8 grandchildren; Brittany Mitchell, Tori
Rodriguez, Ciel Rodriguez, Alexandra Mitchell, Stuart
Rodriguez, Kirby Rodriguez, Jackie Mitchell and Samuel
Rodriguez. A private memorial service organized by Baldwin
Fairchild-Ivanhoe will be held in Orlando, FL. Memorial
donations may be made in Fidel’s name to the Alzheimer’s
Association at www.alz.org. |

Sgt. Louie Carroll Wilkinson,
50, died March 26, 1988, at the V.A. Medical Center, Durham,
N.C.
He was born in West Virginia, a son of Raymond L. and Maysel
V. Wilkinson of Leroy. He was retired from the United States
Air Force, where he had served as a crew chief, aircraft
mechanic and advisor. He served three tours in Vietnam, and
also served in Okinawa. He was a Mason. He was a member of
Freedom Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
Surviving: wife, Evelyn Wilkinson; two sons, Allen Wilkinson
of Fayetteville, N. C.. Danny Wilkinson of Fulda, Germany;
daughter, Teresa Benninghoff of
?Neuprin, N. C.; three
brothers, Lloyd Wilkinson of Magnolia, Ohio, Russell
Wilkinson of Ravenswood, Carl Wilkinson of Parkersburg;
sisters, Ellen Rodriguez of St. Cloud, Fla., Karen Huecker
of Charleston, Ruth Lathey of Leroy; five grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday at the Rogers & Breece Chapel,
Fayetteville, N. C. with the Rev. Norwood Tadlack
officiating. Burial was in the Lafayette Memorial Park with
full military honors. |

Randall Lee “Randy” Lathey, 61,
of Ripley, W.Va., passed away Dec. 19, 2014, in the Hubbard
Hospice House, Charleston, W.Va.
He was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a son of
Troy G. Lathey of Ripley, and the late Irene Margaret (Bogard)
Lathey. His brother, Timothy Lathey, also preceded him in
death.
Randy was a 1971 graduate of Ripley High School, and was a
United States Army veteran. He was stationed in Germany
during the Vietnam War era. He was a former employee of
Kaiser Aluminum and later joined the United States Postal
Service as a mail carrier in Belpre, Ohio. He enjoyed
coaching youth sports leagues, golfing, travel and working
and spending time in the outdoors.
In addition to his father, other survivors include his
daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Dr. John Daugherty of
Pataskala, Ohio, and his son, Tyler Lathey of Ripley;
grandchildren, LaDainian Lathey and Mackenzie, Sophie,
Bently and Ewan Daugherty; and brothers, Daniel Lathey of
Poca and Stephen Lathey of Huntington.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Casto
Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, W.Va., with Pastor Rick Perrine
and Pastor Franklin Howerton officiating. Burial will follow
in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Given. Visitation will be from
noon until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. |
