What is odd about this trip are the dates and name used for
daughter Dorothy. On July 24, 1925, Dorothy married Burns
Macdonald, Jr. So technically in November, her last name
is Macdonald, not Jordan. Perhaps it was just simpler to
give the same last name. And then there is the question
about why they were in Europe. It is possible that Burns
was stationed there and they went to visit. |

Regarding the birth location of Laura Mary. Most of the Census
data, except for the 1910 Census and CA death index, report that Laura
Mary was born in Ohio. However, when you look at the 1870 Census
of the family in Kansas, Laura Mary is not there. If she had been
born in Jan 1870, she would have appeared in the 1870 Census, unless she
was missed. All historical documents list her birth as Jan 3,
1870. Her birth year may actually be 1871. |

ROBERT EDWARDS EVANS One of
God's most noble sons, loving husband, father, grandfather,
great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend returned to
his heavenly home, June 18, 2005 after fighting prostate
cancer for 14 years. His goodness and kindness have touched
all who know him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jerry, four children, Karen
Hemming (Ray), Robert E. Evans Jr. (Diane), Edward E. Evans
(Esther) and Lauri Driggs (Paul), 32 grandchildren and 2
great grandchildren, his sister, Sharron Beal (Clayton) and
brother David G. Evans (Debbie) and numerous extended family
members.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother John Elvin
Evans and his parents.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 7:00 to
9:00 p.m. at Wages Oaklawn Chapel at 120 Scenic Highway in
Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that
donations be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund
