James C. “Griff” Griffith, age 87,
of Mentor since 1954 passed away October 9 at his home
surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 30, 1927 in Parsons, WV.
Mr. Griffith worked as a coil winder at Lincoln Electric for 42
years before retiring in 1996 and was a U.S. Army WWII veteran.
Survivors are his children, Pearle “Micky” (John Puchan) Perl,
Kelly, Barnard (Louie), Jeffrey and James Griffith;
grandchildren, Seth, Alex, Hannah, Sarah (fiancé Tony),
Christopher, Tony, Jason, Jeffrey “Jay,” James “Alex,” Michael,
Julia, Brian (Jennifer Sabruno) and Katie; and his great
grandchildren, Hannah, Jamie and Isabella.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; daughter, Jamie
Griffith; parents, Ronald and Violet Griffith; his sister, Mary
Glenn Coe and brother in law, George Coe.
Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Private family inurnment will be held at Mentor Cemetery in the
spring. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western

“Micky” Perl, age 63 of Ashtabula and Tucson, AZ, passed
away February 22nd, 2017. She was born February 18, 1954
to the late Delores and James Griffith. Micky was a
member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 22 years.
She loved dancing, riding on motorcycles, live music and
was the biggest “Wizard of Oz” fan.
She is survived by her children, Sarah (Tony) Sharratta,
Christopher Perl and Anthony Perl; granddaughter, Emma
Sharratta; siblings, James Griffith, Jeff Griffith,
Kelly Griffith and Bernard (Louie) Griffith; many
nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; loving
companion, John Puchan. |
She is preceded in death by her
sister, Jaime Griffith. Burial at Mentor Cemetery at a
later date. |

Mary Glenn Coe, 67, of 175 Stoney
Battery Road, Salunga, died unexpectedly Saturday at Community
Hospital of Lancaster. She was under a physicians care.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Coe was a member of American Legion
Auxiliary, Post 232, in Dry Run and the Lancaster City Ladies
Duck Pin Bowling League at the Elks Club. She enjoyed camping,
fishing and going to the shore.
Born in Parsons, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Ronald
and Violet Walker Griffith. She was married 47 years on Feb. 7
to George A. Coe.
Surviving are a son, George Michael, husband of Denise Coe of
Pequea; three daughters, Rondi V. Morris and Kristi J. Coe, both
of Lancaster, and Thomi Wood of Maytown; seven grandchildren; a
step grandchild; a great-grandchild; two step
great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James Conrad Griffith of
Mentor, Ohio, and Jackie Lyn of Lincoln, Neb |

Carter Lee "Pete" Ruddle, 77, of
Franklin and formerly of South Charleston, died Jan. 1, 2009, at
Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
He was born Feb. 25, 1931, at South Charleston and was the son
of the late Isaac Carter Ruddle and Evelyn Marie Griffth Ruddle.
Mr. Ruddle was a carpenter by trade and a retired maintenance
supervisor at Union Carbide Tech Center. He was a Veteran of the
U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War aboard the USS
Albuquerque and the USS Alvin C. Cockrell, and was a retired
Seabee from the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of Dunbar
Masonic Lodge #159 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 9666.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Margery Coen Ruddle.
Also surviving are six sons, Roy (Karen) Ruddle, Robert M.
(Chris) Ruddle, Richard Ruddle and Peter R. (Missy) Ruddle, all
of South Charleston, Philip L. (Maxie) Ruddle of Charleston,
Charles M. (Sheila) Ruddle of Franklin; five daughters, Ann
(Carl) Wright, of Fredericksburg, VA, Mary Evelyn (Tony) Taylor
of Chesapeake, VA, Tracy (Ken) Webb of Charleston, Betty Jean
(Charles) Underwood of Fredericksburg, VA, and Beverly Ruddle of
Winston-Salem, NC; 20 grandchildren, Eleanor Ruddle, Brittany,
Blair and Bailey Ruddle, Samantha Ruddle, Thomas and Janet
Ruddle, Jason, Kristopher and Cameron Wright, Scott, Emilee,
Zachary and Benjamin Taylor, Margery and Becca Webb, Jacob and
Jenny Ruddle and Brice and Hannah Underwood; and one brother,
John David (Pat) Ruddle of Yorktown, VA.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Ruddle.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Kimble Funeral Home
Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Kevin Hand officiating. Burial was
at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with Masonic graveside
services conducted by members of Pendleton Lodge #144 A.F.& A.M. |
