mentioned in the obituary for Daniel Edward Zirkle

Hayward L. “Lee” Ross, 73, of
Southington, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at St. Joseph Health
Center in Warren. He was born March 30, 1938 in Roanoke, W.
Va., the son of Percy Deavers and Beatrice Phillips, and had
lived in Trumbull County since 1967.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Ross was a graduate of
Pine Grove (W. Va.) High School, West Virginia University,
and Kent State University. An engineer, he was employed by
Van Huffel Tube and Good Year Aerospace as senior tool
designer and manager. A former member of the Warren Jaycees,
he had been a Little League coach in Champion and served as
Cub Master for Pack 27 at Champion Presbyterian Church. A
deacon at Champion Presbyterian Church, he also served as a
trustee at Southington Christian Church and sang in the
church choir and gospel quartet.
He also enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, woodworking, golf,
bowling, CB radios, and gardening. He had built a log cabin
from trees that he had cut.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Himelrick) Ross, whom he
married November 26, 1960; two children: Michele (Fr.
Gregory) Thompson of Warren, and Michael L. (Jenifer) Ross
of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren: Gary (Kim) III and
Kymberlee Thompson, and Laney Ross; a great-grandson, Mayson
Thompson; a sister, Betty Kay (James) Faddoul; a brother,
Marshall “Butch” (Elizabeth) Ross, both of Cleveland; and
several nieces and nephews. His parents precede him in
death.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at McFarland
& Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Ed Dulka officiating.
Interment will follow at Southington Graham Cemetery, where
full military honors will be conferred. Friends may call
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday
at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to
the Warren Family Mission, 361 Elm Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio
44483.

78, beloved wife of 53 years to James R.; loving mother of
Mary Gundel-Gyure, Mark (Joei), Matt and Mitchell, and Stacy
Wishner Faddoul; dear Nana of Kelsey Gundel, Casey Jade,
James, Maxwell and Jordan; sister of Butch Ross (Betty) and
the late Leroy Ross (deceased) (Shirley).
Betty was a Registered Nurse helping people of 45 years with
most of her career working at Southwest General Hospital.
Passed away, Monday, October 29, 2018. Friends may call at
the McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home of Westlake, 25620 Center
Ridge Rd, (West of Columbia Rd.) Monday, November 5th from 4
– 8 pm. Interment private. |

Mary “Mimi” Gundel Gyure age 56,
born on July 28th 1964, passed peacefully Sunday, July 18th,
2021 at St John Westshore in Westlake, Ohio surrounded by
family.
Mary was born in Lakewood, Ohio to Betty and James Faddoul.
Mary grew up in North Olmsted, Ohio and later went
on to pursue a degree in nursing, leading the start
to an extensive nursing career. Mary spent many
years giving back to the community as a nurse and
this was her true passion. |
She loved being a nurse and spending her days caring for
others. She met many close friends throughout her nursing
career but also in turn found her true companion, Timmy Gyure. Mary and Tim spent 22 loving years together before
Tim’s passing in March, 2018.
Mary is survived by her daughter Kelsey (Brian) Hirsch (nee
Gundel), father, James Faddoul, brothers, Mark (Joei)
Faddoul, and Matt Faddoul, niece, Casey Faddoul, and
nephews, Max Faddoul and Jas Faddoul. Mary would also
include a son and daughter, Blaine Watkins and Caitlin
Wascovich surviving her in which she loves beyond measure,
along with an ongoing list of nieces and nephews. Mary also
is survived by her Kitties Romeo & Zadie, and grand dogs,
Kane, Axel, and Madison.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Timmy Gyure,
Mother Betty Faddoul (nee Ross), brother, Mitch Faddoul,
which all were quick to meet and welcome her with open arms.
Friends will be received on Sunday July 25th, 2021 from
1:00pm until 4:00pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral &
Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst,
Ohio. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life.

Marshall Edward Ross Jr., 44, of
West Salem, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 25, 2016.
He was born Jan. 10, 1972 in Cleveland to Marshall E. Sr.
and Elizabeth L. (German) Ross.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1990, and had
lived most of his life in Cleveland before moving to West
Salem. Marshall had worked as a mason and was an avid
Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister,
Elizabeth (Sam) Beitel of West Salem; brother, Shane (Liz)
Ross of Mayfield; nieces and nephews, Kyle, Bailey and
Collin Ross and Ross Cook and Amelia Beitel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and
Ethel Mae German and Beatrice Riley and Carl Ross.
Parker Funeral Home handled the arrangements. |

in Lake Charles.
He was born October 6, 1957 in Warren Ohio.
Surviving is his wife, Rosie Fontenot Phillips, Lake
Charles, two sons, David Marshall Sarvey, California
and Morgan Phillips, Lake Charles, a daughter,
Michelle Phillips, Lake Charles, his parents,
Margaret and Ellis Gilmore, Warren, Ohio, his
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norris and Patsy
Fontenot and two grandsons. |
Mr. Phillips was employed at
Northrop Grumman Corporation as a machinist. He attended the
Vineyard and loved the Lord. He was an avid fisherman and
handyman.
Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, April
5, 2007 at the Harrison Community Church near Mabie. A
funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday from the
church with Rev. Glen Rader and Rev. Greg Lanham
officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowan Memorial
Cemetery near Mabie. |

BARRACKVILLE, W.Va. — James Roy
Robinette, 93, went to meet his Lord on May 10, 2014, after
several years of failing health. He had been residing at The
Lindley Inn assisted living facility in Athens, Ohio, since
2010, but lived previously all of his life in Barrackville,
W.Va.
He was born July 17, 1920. He was the youngest child of
Charles Wellington Robinette, who died in 1936 when Jim was
16 years old, and Birdie Straight Robinette , who died in
1962. He was married to Guila Mae Scott Robinette until her
death in 2010. They had been married 68 years.
Surviving are a son, Charles Scott “Skip” Robinette, and his
wife, Frances Moore Robinette; a daughter, Sheila Robinette
Humphrey, and her husband, Thomas; five grandchildren,
Donald Robinette, Cindy Wolfinger, Chrissie Weffler,
Christopher Poling and Scott Poling; great-grandchildren,
T.J, Zachary, Kenny, Kayla, Colin,
Toby, Jessica and Franco;
and great-great-grandchildren, Saige and Naomi.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edwin F. Wisman,
Virginia Wisman Welty, Margaret Wisman Steiss, Frank W.
Robinette and Comilla Robinette Hurt.
Mr. Robinette was a longtime member of the Bethesda Baptist
Church in Barrackville where he served as a trustee, and in
his later years as a deacon. He served in World War II in
the Navy aboard the USS Quincy as an electricians mate, and
helped to keep the large guns firing during the invasion of
Normandy. After the war ended , he returned home to work at
Bethlehem Mines, where he became a maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of the Fairmont, W.Va., Masonic Lodge F&AM
9. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and camping with his
family. He led a Boy Scout group at one time and taught
outdoor skills. He enjoyed woodworking, and many of his
projects are now enjoyed by family and friends and will be
treasured.
He was much loved and respected by his family who will miss
him greatly but know he is at peace and happy as he is
seeing Jesus face to face.
Viewing will be held at Ford Funeral Home In Fairmont,
W.Va., on Thursday, May 15, where a Masonic service will be
held. Funeral services will be held at Bethesda Baptist
Church in Barrackville on Friday, May 16, at 1 p.m.
Burial with gravesite military honors will be held in
Barrackville. |

Charles Scott "Skip" Robinette,
of Albany, passed away suddenly July 24, 2021,
at his home, from complications of heart disease.
Born December 28, 1942, in Fairmont, West Virginia, he was
the son of the late James Roy and Guila Scott Robinette. He
was a much loved husband, father, brother and friend to
many. He was an active member of Albany Masonic Lodge # 723
F & AM, and a active member of the Shriners who do many good
works for children free of charge.
Skip leaves behind his wife of 58 years Frances Moore
Robinette, his son Donald (Donna) Robinette of Fredricka,
Delaware, his daughters Cindy Wolfinger of Lancaster,
Chrissy (Bob) Weffler of Athens; and a sister Sheila (Tom)
Humphrey of Albany; grandchildren Zach (Peyton) Weffler,
T.J. Dillon and Collin Wolfinger; great-grandchildren Nash
and Case Weffler.
Viewing will be Thursday July 29, 2021, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at
Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home. Masonic Services will be
held at 8 P.M. |

Deloris
R. Donohue, 91, Lakeland, passed away July 26, 2021.
She was born April 1, 1930 in Fairmont, WV to Dorsey
and Daisy Scott.
Deloris retired from the Polk county School Board as
a secretary. She was a loving wife, mother, sister,
and aunt. God and her family were most important to
her. She enjoyed spending time gardening. She is
preceded in death by her parents; husbands Andrew
Smith, James Roach Sr., and George Donohue; her
sister Guila Robinette.
Left to treasure Deloris' memory are her children
Andrea Cullipher (John) , Randy Smith (Mary) and
James Roach Jr. (Pati); 6 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren.

Denise
Jean Simmons (nee: Philips), 66 years of age, and a
resident of Lorain, went home to be with her Lord
Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She died unexpectedly
at home.
Denise was born on October 28, 1952 to Ernest James
Phillips and Virginia Belle Phillips (Landy).
Denise was an active member of Beacon Baptist Church
in Lorain, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her
grandkids, working in the nursery, Awanas, and
helping with after-church events. |
Denise will truly be missed here
on earth. She had the kindest spirit, would help anyone, and
loved to make those around her smile. Denise took joy in
making others happy. While many of us have been comforted by
Denise in the past we must take comfort in God at this time.
Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be
comforted."
Denise graduated in 1971 from Clearview High School. After
high school, she married the love of her life, Clinton
Warren Simmons, on December 18, 1971.
She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, her father, her
children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and many people
that considered her their second mom.
Denise and Clinton have three children: Clinton Simmons Jr.
of Lorain, Nicole Gute (Jack) of Texas, and Troy Simmons
(Sarah) of Strongsville. They have nine grandchildren: Sarah
Smith (Corey), Clinton Simmons III, Lyndsey Simmons, Akacya
Gute, Allison Simmons, Ashton Gute, Atreus Gute, Lola
Simmons, and Jude Simmons. Anyone that knew Denise knew how
much she adored her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Phillips (Landy)
and brother, Ernest James Phillips II.
Friends may call Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. at Beacon Baptist Church; 3407 West Erie Avenue,
Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00
a.m. at Beacon Baptist Church. The Rev. Aaron Webb, pastor
will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory
Gardens in Avon.

Sheffield Township- Ernest “Big Jim” Phillips Jr.,
59, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30,
2016 at his home. He was born on March 20, 1957 in
Elyria, OH.
Big Jim graduated from Clearview High School. He
worked at Ford Motor Company in Lorain prior to his
career with Sheffield Township Street Department
where he worked for twenty years. Big
Jim owned Lowes Auto Wrecking in Lorain for
twenty-nine years. He loved spending time with his
family and he was devoted to his kids and grandkids. |
He is survived by his children,
Teddy Barker, Douglas Barker, Jack (Cindy Koroski) Barker,
Angelo Colombo, Ernest “Jimmy” (Ashlee) Phillips III, Corey
(Leah) Phillips, Lauren (Dennis) Behringer, and Megan
Stephens; father, Ernest “Ernie” Phillips; sister, Denise
(Clinton) Simmons; brother, Elmer (Liz) Phillips; companion
of twenty-five years, Charlin Maynard; eleven grandchildren;
and many loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia B. (nee
Landy) Phillips in 1992; and son, Andrew Charles Barker in
1999.
Big Jim’s memory will be cherished always by those that knew
him and those he helped at the end of his life with a final
gift through Lifebanc.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger
Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., Sheffield Tnsp.
