Hmmm....ok, I guess this is someone's family tree??? Whose?
Who are they in relation to the decedent? Where did they get the
information??
Of note is the death location. Anyone who is doing work with
families in WV know that WV was VA until the Civil War. Randolph
Co., in VA became Randolph Co., in WV. Only an amateur, not
familiar with this family, would list
Randolph, Charlotte Co., VA as the place of death. This family was
no where near Randolph, VA. They lived in Randolph or Barbour
County, WV. Just this alone, makes the information suspect.
What is known is that Noah and his second wife Bethiah do not appear in
the 1900 Census. So yes, one can assume they died before the 1900
Census was taken. |

Some family trees have the maiden name of Prudence as
Hooker. This is incorrect. Daughter Mary's death
certificate has Rowan. Son William's IL marriage
record has "Trudy Roary" as his mother's name. Trudy
would be Prudy. Roary is closer to Rowan than Hooker
is. |

after his death in 1940. Which is probably why
there is a different, probably wrong, date
If there was an old marker, it may have been damaged
which is why they ordered another one. Or
there was never one to begin with. On the Find
A Grave website, there is a photo of an older
marker. This could be he original marker or a
flat stone that laid over the grave or a foot stone.

1885 - Prudence marries again to Lair D
Reed (1847-1912) Jan 8, 1885, Barbour Co., WV, who was married first to Emily Jane
Poling (daughter of Harvey Poling and Mary Markley) who died in 1884

1900 - Prudence and 2nd
husband Lair D Reed are living in Court House, Taylor Co.,
WV. All of the children living with them are Lair's
from his first marriage. Of note is that Prudence reports in
the 1900 Census
that she had 6 children, 3 living. The 3 living
children would be Mary, William, and Austin. I checked
all Wilmoth birth and death looking for these 3 unknown
babies with no luck. Prudence was 40 when she
remarried, so it is unlikely that she got pregnant 3 more
times with Lair Reed. She had to raise all of his
children along with her three. These 3 unknown
children were probably stillborns that were not reported.
In the 1910 Census, she also reports 6 children. 2
then living because Austin had died in 1906.

youngest daughter. Izuna (name on 1880 Census ) or Zera Reed. Lair is working
on a farm.

1911 - Prudence dies
sometime before Oct 6, 1911 based on paperwork regarding her estate filed in Taylor
Co., WV. It is unknown whether she died in Illinois
where she was a year earlier, in WV, or elsewhere.
Checking online of IL deaths in 1911, I was unable to find
Prudence's death in IL. She is also not found in the
online record of WV deaths. Daughter Mary is living in
Court House, Taylor Co., WV in 1910 and son William is
living in IL. Husband Lair Reed dies the following
year in Chicago, IL. |

Benjamin "Ben" Rader, age 79 of Uniontown, passed
away on February 6, 2022.
Ben was born on June 15, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to
Edward and Agnes (Donelson) Rader. He graduated from
East High School in 1961. Ben served in the US Air
Force from 1961 to 1965.
He retired from Goodyear after 27 years, driving
over 450 miles a day to test tires. Ben was very
thankful for his heart transplant in 1992, which
extended his life by decades.
Ben had a passion for cars; he took pride in
detailing cars for his family and friends, and he
collected Die Cast cars. |
He loved bowling in his younger
years, and recently enjoyed going to the casino. He loved
having game night once a month with his family, especially
playing with the grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Charlotte
Fisher, sister-in-law, Rebecca Wilson
Ben will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years,
Linda, son, Randy (Heather) Rader, grandchildren, Steven
(Erica Markovich) Rader, Kayla Rader, and Jordan (Brett)
Hawkins, Steven and Kayla's mother, Nikki Rader,
brother-in-law, Harold Wilson, siblings, Peggy Danzy,
Lucille Yeary, and Robert Thompson, life-long friend, Harry
(Linda) Cox, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may come to call on Sunday, February 13,
2022 from 12-1 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. A
service will follow at 1 p.m. A private family burial will
take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.

point. I tried looking for any Dora with the same
birth date in SS records, death records, Find A Grave, etc.
I checked the Dora's in the cemeteries sisters Stella and
Lulu are at, with no luck. I looked at marriages of
Dora's in Gilmer and Taylor Co., WV with no luck. No
one else on ancestry.com or familysearch.com has found
anything other than what I found. What is for sure, is
that she died before 1963 because she is not mentioned is
sister Lulu's obit. |

Bruce
John Wilmoth, age 81, passed away on August 13th,
2011 at the Hadlow Center of Community Hospice.
Bruce was born in Lexington Illinois and after High
School began a 44 year career with State Farm Ins.
Co. by whom he was relocated to Jacksonville in
1958.
His passion for cars was exceeded only by his love
for his family. Bruce has a long list of friends
from several churches over the years and was
currently a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church
of Mandarin. |
Bruce is survived by his wife of
62 years, Phyllis, their 3 sons Don, Bill and Gary and their
wives Kitty, Gail and Frankie respectively. He has 9
grandchildren; Christy Poston (Donnie), Misty Wilmoth,
Lindsay Severance (Jason), Bill Wilmoth Jr. (Sharon), Erica
Wilmoth, Ashley Jackson (Mat), Patrick Steely, Nicole Lopez
(Jose) and Sara Gordon. There are also 9 Great
Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church of
Mandarin on Wed. August 17th at 11:00 AM. The viewing will
be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church, located at 2955
Orange Picker Road. Pastor Andy Pietrylo will preside. The
family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be
made to the building fund at Faith Baptist Church of
Mandarin, 2955 Orange Picker Road, Jacksonville FL. 32223.

Robert L. Wilmoth, 76, Elkton,
Fl., formerly of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away at 7:10
a.m. Monday (Feb. 1, 2010) at the Bayview Nursing Home, St.
Augustine, Fl.
He was born April 12, 1933 in Lexington, Il. to Lester and
Ethel Bailey Wilmoth. He married Judith "Judy" A. Shiers on
June 6, 1953 in Pontiac. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Lee (Tad) Bonham,
Bloomington, and Jeff (Dena) Wilmoth, Normal; one brother,
Bruce (Phyllis) Wilmoth, Jacksonville, Fl.; six
grandchildren, Lisa (Braden) Cheshier, Round Lake; Eric
Mehrkens, Bloomington; Bret and Kyle Wilmoth, Normal; Faith
and Adam Bonham, Bloomington and two great-grandchildren,
Connor and Emma Cheshier, Round Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Robert was a maintenance supervisor at State Farm Insurance
Cos., Bloomington, for 45 years. He was an avid automobile
enthusiast. |

After this point, it is
unknown what happened to Austin. There was an
assignment of a bond for administers of Austin W
Wilmoth's estate in May 5, 1906. However,
Lillie May remarried to Benjamin P Jamison on Apr 5,
1903. So unless Austin divorced Lillie May,
she would not be remarrying unless Austin had died
prior to 1903. There is also their son Austin,
Jr that died in 1910 at age 7. The death was
reported by step-father Benjamin P Jamison. If
Austin Jr, was born in late 1902 or 1903.
Lillie May may have even been pregnant when she
married Jamison. So this would put Austin's
death or disappearance in the year 1902.
Which begs the question, what estate are they
administering in 1906??

Of note: Besides the incorrect middle name,
Harold lists his next of kin as May Wilmoth, which
is odd because his mother had remarried to Jamison
and had died in 1911. I think the registrar
