Gladys
M. Kittle Gullett, age 93, of Bypro, Ky., widow of
Hascal Beauford Gullett, passed away Monday, Jan.
26, 2004, in McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital
in McDowell, Ky.
She was born March 19, 1910, in Ethel, W.Va., a
daughter of the late James Robert Kittle and Angie
Petry Kittle.
Mrs. Gullett was a former cook at Wheelwright High
School, and was a member of Order of Eastern Star
and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Gullett of
Bypro, and Lloyd Dale Gullett and Larry Franklin
Gullett, both of Flatwoods, Ky.; |
two daughters, Dreama Gayle
Nelson of Milwaukie, Ore., and Gloria Kay Harlow of
Wheelwright, Ky.; one sister, Virginia Stevens of Summit,
Ky.; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gladys M. Gullett will be conducted
Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Wheelwright
Freewill Baptist Church with clergymen, Roy Harlow and Louie
Ferrari, officiating. Burial will follow in Buckingham
Cemetery in Bevinsville, Ky.
Visitation is anytime today at the church.
Hall Funeral Home in Martin, Ky., is in charge of
arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Left Beaver
Civil Defense and Rescue Squad.
Pallbearers will be grandson, Daniel Gullett, Michael
Gullett, Larry Gullett, Lin Gullett, Dwight Nelson, David
Nelson, Ed Fuller, and Bill Smith Jr. Honorary pallbearers
will be granddaughters Renina Fuller, Dayle Craig, Marilyn
Bailey, Sara Gullett Smith and Ruth G. Newsome. |

Ronald Lee Gullett, age 78, of
Bypro, KY., husband of Barbara Hall Gullett, for 58 years
and 258 days, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the
University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington,
KY.
He was born February 24, 1936 in Powellton, WV., a son
of the late Hascal and Gladys Kittle Gullett. He was a
Electrical Engineer, member of the Wheelwright Freewill
Baptist Church, Past Grand Patron-Grand Chapter of Kentucky
Order of Eastern Star, former Chairman of the Board of
Directors Left Beaver Civil Defense and Rescue Squad,
payroll manager for Rescue Squad and a member of the
Wheelwright Lodge # 889 F&AM. |
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by one son;
Daniel Paul Gullett, Bypro, KY., two daughters; Sarah Lynn
(Bill) Smith, Burlington, KY., Ruth Danette (Randy) Smith,
Wheelwright, KY., two brothers; Lloyd (Janice) Gullett, and
Larry (Barbara) Gullett, all of Flatwoods, KY., one sister;
Dreama (Larry) Nelson, Milwaukie, OR., three grandchildren;
Kennedy Newsome, Zachary Smith and Brandon Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister;
Gloria Harlow.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at
11:00 a.m. at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, Bypro,
KY., with Louis Ferrari officiating. Burial will follow in
the Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville, KY. Visitation is
after 6 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and after 12 noon
Monday at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church. Order of
Eastern Star service will be Sunday at 6 p.m. and Masonic
service will be 6 p.m. Monday night at the church, under the
kind and professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin,
KY. |

Dreama Nelson of Milwaukie
passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday, Jan. 29,
2018.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry; two of
her siblings, twin brother, Lloyd (Janice) and brother,
Larry (Barbara); her sons, Dwight (Bonnie), David (Valorie),
Duane, Don and Doug; eight grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

Dreama Gayle (Gullet) Nelson, 80 passed away peacefully with
family by her ide at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon on
January 29th, 2018.
She was born November 28th, 1937 in Powellton, West Virginia
and was one of five children. She worked at Precision
Castparts for twenty years until she retired. She was
happiest surrounded by her family and playing her favorite
slot machines at local casinos.
She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor, quick
wit and her contagious laugh.
She was predeceased by her brother Ronald and sister Gloria.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Nelson,
two of her siblings, win brother Lloyd Janice) and Larry
(Barbara), sons Dwight (Bonnie), David (Valorie), Duane, Don
and Doug. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica,
Christopher, Jerrad, Kristina, Holly, Michael and Bradley,
and great grandchildren, Gwen, Peter and Theresa. |

The last news report was Sep 2018, saying he was
still missing. This poster is also still on his
granddaughter's FB page as of 11/2024.

Larry
Franklin Gullett, 84, of Flatwoods, passed away
December 28, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Gullett was born October 4, 1939, in Powellton,
WV, to the late Hascal and Gladys Kittle Gullett.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death
by one brother, Ronald Gullett, and two sisters,
Gloria Harlow and Dreama Nelson.
Larry loved to play golf and in his younger years
spent most of his time teaching and coaching his
sons to play baseball, and also coached a women's
softball team while stationed in the Netherlands.
Larry served in Vietnam from 1968-1969, and retired
after 22 years of dedicated service in the US Army
as a MSG in which he received the Meritorious
Service Medal for honorable service. |
Then, after 20 years with the
USPS he retried for a second time. From there he spent the
next 20 years, along with his wife Barbara, volunteering for
the Corps of Engineers.
He enjoyed being with his family and most recently, for the
past four years, at the Holmes Bend campground as camp host
where he had the joy of giving all kids, from ages 2 to 92,
dum dum suckers by the thousands. The smiles they gave,
along with laughter, always gave him a lift, and those years
as camp host were some of his most precious moments. He
loved the children, and everyone always wore a smile when
they saw him coming, as his was the most infectious. Above
all, though, he was most proud of his three sons, Larry,
Lin, and Michael.
He is survived by the love of his life of 59 years and three
months, Barbara Braamse Gullett; three sons, Larry
(Charlotte) Gullett, Lin (Diana) Gullett, and Michael
(Patricia) Gullett; five grandchildren, Brittnay, Casey,
Lauren, Baylie, and Jacob; five great-grandchildren, Easton,
Miles, Atticus, Jace, and Adley; along with one brother,
Lloyd Gullett.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, January
3, 2024, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY. Burial
will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Wednesday,
at the funeral home. |

on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in Pikeville Medical
Center.
She was born August 27, 1941 at Burton, Ky. the
daughter of the late Hascal Beauford Gullett and
Gladys Marie Kittle Gullet. She was a homemaker and
a member of the Wheelwright Methodist Church and the
Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Wheelwright High
School class of 1959.
Surviving are: Two Sons, Roy (Shelia) Harlow of
Langley, Ky. and Robert (Teresa) Harlow of Dayton,
Ohio One Daughter, Marilyn Bailey of Langley, Ky.
Three Brothers, Ron Gullett of Bypro, Ky. Lloyd and
Larry Gullett both of Flatwoods, Ky. One Sister,
Drema Nelson of Milwaukee, Oregon. 5 Grandchildren,
Jared Harlow, Cody Harlow, Ryan Bailey, Brandi
(Dewayne) Denney and Micah Harlow. |
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, Roy Franklin Harlow and her parents.
Funeral Services: Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. in
the Hall Funeral Home Chapel in Martin, Ky. with Roy Harlow,
Jack Howard and Bobby Isaac officiating. Burial in
Buckingham Cemetery at Bevinsville, Ky. Under the

Minerva Kittle, 85, of Ashland,
Ky., passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at the Kingsbrook
Life Care Center.
Minerva was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Lawrence County, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William H.H. and
Sarah Derifield Martin, of Louisa, Ky.
She was a member of Concord United Baptist Church in
Lawrence County, Ky. She departed this life serving her Lord
and Savior for 58 years.
She leaves behind a loving son, Carl Kittle, and a special
daughter-in-law, Jerri Kittle, of Summit, with whom she
lived before her illness. Also, two daughters, Darlene and
her husband, Steve Meyers, of Ashland, Ky., and Donna
Williamson of Summit, Ky.; and two deceased sisters, Thelma
Dillon of Ashland, Ky., and Dove Diamond of Grayson, Ky.;
one living brother, Winfield Martin of Fort Gay, W.Va.; and
three sisters, Virginia Salmons of Louisa, Ky., Lucille
Maynard of Mansfield, Ohio, and Laverne Fitzpatrick of
Murfeesboro, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Carla Kittle Akers,
Robin Kittle Bennett, Angie Kittle Ramey and Ryan
Williamson, all of Summit, Ky., Stephanie Myers of
Charlottesville, Va., and Allison Meyers Donnelly of Durham,
N.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Kristen McKee, Evan
Bennett, Andrew Akers and Celia Donnelly.
Friends are welcome to attend the graveside services
officiated by the Rev. Randall Skaggs at noon on Tuesday,
Aug. 31, 2004, at the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens Mausoleum
in Flatwoods. Graveside Services are under the direction of
Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland.
The family wishes to express special gratitude to the staff
of Kingsbrook Life Care Center and to Dr. Phillip Fioret for
the wonderful love and compassion they gave to her.
The heart always has room for beautiful memories.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cannonsburg
Trinity United Methodist Church Food Pantry Construction

son of the late Arthur Carl Kittle and Minerva
Martin Kittle.
He was a 1959 graduate of Boyd County High School
and he played in a softball league for many years
after graduation. He retired following a long career
as an electrician with IBEW 369. Carl loved serving
his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of
Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church where he
served on the Board of Trustees and volunteered for
the food pantry. He and his wife, Jerri served
as past youth leaders and he was the boys basketball
coach for many years. He was UK Basketballs biggest
fan, he and his wife had season tickets for 43
years. |
He was a member of the Rush
Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of
59 years, Jerri McGuire Kittle of Summit; three daughters,
Carla Kittle of Summit, Robin Kittle Bennett and husband,
Glenn, of Red Bluff, CA and Angie Kittle Ramey of Summit;
four precious grandchildren whom he adored, Kristen McKee,
Evan Bennett (Britt), Andrew Akers and Sydney Ramey; a great
grandchild, Marshall Bennett and baby Bennett due Jan. 2021;
mother in law, Dixie McGuire of Catlettsburg; two sisters,
Darlene Meyers (Steve) and Donna Williamson, both of
Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday,
August 6, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel
with Pastor Bruce Lee officiating. Burial will follow in
Rose Hill Burial Park. Live streaming of the funeral service
will be available on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cannonsburg
Trinity United Methodist Church, 11620 Midland Trail Road,
Ashland, KY, 41102; or to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter

Darlene
Kittle Meyers went to be with her Lord and Savior on
October 19, 2023.
Daughter of the late Arthur Carl Kittle and Minerva
Martin Kittle, Darlene was born May 26, 1945, in
Boyd County Kentucky. She was raised by her Father
and four loving Aunts in Boyd and Floyd counties.
She was predeceased by her brother, Carl Edward
Kittle, and sister, Donna Williamson.
Darlene was a 1963 Graduate of Boyd County High
School. She worked in accounting at Kelly & Galloway
and at Adams, Davis, & Wolf during the mid 1960's
and early 1970's. |
She met Steve, the love of her
life, at the Bluegrass Grille in 1965. They married on
November 2, 1968, and enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Steve
and Darlene's love and support for one another was evident
to anyone who spent time with them.
Family was everything to Darlene and she loved being a Mom
to two daughters, Stephanie and Allison. She enjoyed cooking
and bringing family and friends together for birthday
parties, family reunions, and holiday celebrations. After
the girls went off to college, Darlene returned to the
workforce and worked as an Office Administrator at Move Rite
United for 17 years.
Darlene was a member of South Ashland United Methodist
Church (Cornerstone Methodist Church) for over 50 years. She
was active in the church and took on many roles including
Fifth grade Sunday School teacher, President of South
Ashland United Methodist Women's Circle, and Sunday School
Superintendent. She also served on the administrative board
of Hillcrest-Bruce Mission and volunteered in their
Children's Ministry.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Steve Meyers of
Ashland, and two daughters Stephanie Meyers (Mark Lieberth)
of Charlottesville, Virginia, with grandsons Ryan and Adam;
and Allison Donnelly (Ben Donnelly) of Durham, North
Carolina, with grandchildren Celia and Theo, along with much
extended family and many close friends.
Per her request, Darlene has donated her body to the Joan C
Edward School of Medicine at Marshall University.
Please join us for a Celebration of Darlene's life on
November 18 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Methodist Church.

Donna was born November 19,
1947, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Arthur Carl Kittle
and Minerva Martin Kittle.
In addition to her parents, a
brother, Carl Edward Kittle preceded her in death.
After graduation from Boyd County High School in 1965, Donna
continued her education at Morehead State University with
undergrads and masters degrees. Her love of teaching
children resulted in 43 years in the Boyd County School
System.
Donna is survived by her son, Carl Ryan Williamson of
Summit; a sister, Darlene Kittle Meyers and husband, Steve
of Ashland; a sister in law, Jerri Kittle of Summit; and a
host of extended family members and dear friends. |
In accordance with Donnas wishes, she will be cremated and
services will not be held. Arrangements have been entrusted
to Steen Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donnas memory should be

John H. Stevens, 83, of Ashland,
died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1928, in Boyd County, a son of the
late Lade Stevens and Stella Hall Stevens.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim, and sisters
Pauline, Margaret, Betty and Dora.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired
foreman with National Mine Service Co. and a retired deputy
with the Boyd and Greenup county sheriff's offices. He was a
50-plus-year member of Rush Masonic Lodge, co-founder and
captain of the former Boyd County Police Department, a
former member of the Shriners, a member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles and an avid gardener.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Jean" Kittle Stevens;
nieces whom he helped rear, Donna Williamson of Summit and
Darlene Meyers of Ashland; nephews Carl E. Kittle of Summit
and special nephew Ryan Williamson of Summit; several other
nieces and nephews; two sisters, Laura Eaton of Arlington,
Texas, and Nora Goodwin of Catlettsburg; and his dog, Sammy.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at
Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel. |

She was born January 6, 1921, in Blair, W.Va.
Her husband, John H. Stevens, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at noon Monday at Lazear Funeral Home in
Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call one hour before the service Monday at the
