CULP Dora R. Culp, age 99, of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009.

She was born February 14, 1910 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Frank and Elizabeth Conley; also preceded in death by husband Charles Robert Culp, son Thomas Culp, sister Georgie May Hull, and brothers Roland, Grayson, John, Denver, James, Hobert, Ray and Joe Conley.

She is survived by her children, Charles Ray Culp of Columbus, Joanne (Mark) Clay of Terrell, Tex., and Paul James Culp of Reynoldsburg; daughters-in-law, Sue, Rose and Gail Culp; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday; Pastor Paul Gabriel, officiating; Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. CULP Thomas F. Culp, 75, of Logan, Ohio, formerly of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.

He was born on September 29, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio. TC served in the US Army during the Korean War; he was a lifelong, self-employed residential and commercial builder as well as a wood craftsman; Owner of Tom Culp Builders, TC Antiques & Toys, and former President of T.C. Erectors, Inc.; all of Pataskala.

Preceded in death by his father Robert Culp and infant daughter Dora Deon.

Survived by his children, Brenda (Lyndel) Hix of Tulsa, OK, Starla (John) Wetmore, Pataskala, OH and T. Michael Culp, London, England; mother, Dora Culp (98); siblings, Charles R., Paul James (Sue), and JoAnn (Mark) Clay; former wife of 43 years, Rose Culp; grandchildren, Brandon (Rebecca) Hix, J. Ryan (Jillian) Wetmore, Lacy (Brad) Kepler, Ashleigh Wetmore; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Gretel Hix; special friends, Sandy, Hank, Jacob and Lee Webster.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lou G. Rose (Morrison) Culp, age 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, at the Jersey Baptist Church Chapel with Pastor Lyndel Hix officiating. Entombment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, at Jersey Baptist Church in the North Venue, 13260 Morse Road, New Albany.

Rose was born December 17, 1932 in Newville, WV, to the late Homer Stanley and Nellie (Gillespie) Morrison. She passed away on July 10, 2018.

Rose was a longtime resident of Pataskala and more recently resided at Concord Manor in Johnstown. She will be always be remembered as Granny and for the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, none of which ever left her presence without a kiss and an I Love You.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Lyndel) Hix of Tulsa, OK, Starla (John) Wetmore of Alexandria and Dr. T. Michael Culp of London England; grandchildren, Brandon (Rebecca) Hix, Lacy (Brad) Kepler, Ryan (Jillian) Wetmore and Ashleigh (Gordon) Moodie; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Thomas, and an infant daughter, Deon; sisters, Jane Lewis and Freda McQuain; and brothers, Charles and Paul Morrison.

The family would like to thank Mark & Linda Harger and all the wonderful, caring aides at Concord Manor (all of whom were truly gifts from our Lord) for Roses care this past year.

  1920 - Census - Mayme living with parents - This Census reports that Mayme is single.  This is not correct.  Joseph did fight in WWI but was out of the military on Apr 14, 1919 before they got married.  Joseph is not staying with his parents.  I am unable to locate Joseph in this census.

1920 - City Directory - Columbus, OH - John T Culp lives at 38 W Northwood and Jos F Gygi lives at 38 W Northwood.  Mayme does not appear in directory under either last. name.  Based on the city directory, Joseph and Mayme were living together at her parents house.

Born on June 2, 1932 to the late Jacob J. and Theresa (Woodruff) Nuber in Columbus, OH.

Survived by Loving Partner Gordon Crooks, sisters Dorothy (L.G.) Casey, Shirley Nuber, brother Jacob (Delores) Nuber, daughters Linda (Randy) Carr, Mary (George) McCue, and son Joseph (Michelle) Gygi, grandchildren Joe (Anna) Gygi, Rebecca (Billy) Edwards, Randy (Stacey) Carr, Eric (Erin) Gygi, Molly McCue, Trevor McCue, Lauren Gygi, great grandchildren Spencer Henning, Christian Gygi, Kimber Fleming, Hannah Carr, Elizabeth Edwards, Lindsey Edwards, Brandon Carr, Zakery Carr, Brennon Gygi, Davin Gygi and Jordyn Gygi.

Andi Lynn Miller passed on the afternoon of December 23, 2020 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home AR.

She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Miller of Columbus, OH., and the recent passing of her brother Andrew J Miller of Gulfport, FL.

Andi Attended Pleasant High School in Marion Ohio.

 
She will be dearly missed by her Mother: Billie L. Bowmans and sister Tracy Miller both of Marion, OH. and her five daughters: Katrina Layne, Cora Layne, Alisha Layne Bolander, ?Ashley Layne and Erin Layne and Grandson Auston Bolander of Walland TN.

Andi Lynn will return to her Mother and be laid to rest beside her brother in Marion, OH.

Gulfport, FL - Andrew J. Miller passed unexpectedly at his home in Gulfport, Florida on August 11, 2020.

Better known to his friends as AJ, he graduated Marion Pleasant High School in 1984. Active in many community youth activities, he played multiple high school sports for the Spartans.

Joining the United States Air Force in 1989, he was soon stationed in Italy until discharged. Upon leaving the service he moved to Florida and worked as a Marine mechanic. He loved working on boats and fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather Billie and Orrin Bowman, three sisters Tracy Miller, Lyn Miller and Candi Bowman, and was preceded in death by his Father, Andrew J. Miller. The Marion Country Honor Guard will participate in the gravesides services to be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Marion Cemetery.

Judy was born in 1942 and is preceded in death by her grandparents Mamie and Fred Gygi, her father John Cummings, her mother Betty Glass and stepfather Robert W. Glass.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael F. “Mick” Rieser; sons: Todd (Elaine) and Jon (Deanna) and daughter Renee (fiancé, Tommy Donahue); sisters: Cheri (Dave Nichols), Robyn, Fran (Ken Schmitt), Jan (Eric Sweigart) and her brother Rob (Kenda); her grandchildren: Chris, Eric, Dylan and Maeve; her two very special cousins Pam and Billie; many nieces and nephews; and the extended Rieser Family.

Russell "Fred" Gygi, 80 years old, Columbus resident, passed away on Friday, April 2nd, 2010.

Fred was an avid Buckeye and sports fan, and playing euchre. He truly enjoyed his pet dog Bandit, his family and his friends at his apartment complex.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Mamie (Culp) Gygi, one sister, Betty Glass, and one brother, Bill Gygi.

He is survived by his three daughters:
Pamela (Jess) Parker, Teri (Danny) Ryan, Debbie (Dickie) Winrod, and one son, Russell Gygi, Jr., seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and special friend Gail

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral service on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010, at 10:00 AM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City.  Interment immediately following service in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Christina "Sally" Gygi, age 91, of Columbus passed away on December 3, 2022. She was born on April 15, 1931 in Columbus to the late Robert and Josephine Young. In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by brother, Valley Young, Orris Young; sister, Shirley Lacey and Mary Williams.

Sally is survived by her children, Pam Parker, Teri (Daniel) Ryan, Debbie (Dick) Winrod, Russell Gygi; sister, Clara Stevens; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Sally worked as a waitress all of her life. She loved to bowl and enjoyed her friends. Sally loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Victoria J. Culp, age 62 of Clintonville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2015 after bravely battling cancer for many years. She greatly believed in organ donation and was an organ donor.

Vicky was born and raised in Pataskala, daughter of the late George and Marilyn Culp. Also preceded in death by her husband, John Brown. Vicky graduated from Licking Heights High School where she played in the marching band, and earned her BA in Science Education at Ohio Dominican University.
Vicky was a kind, loving and courageous woman who loved everyone she met. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed driving her convertible VW Bug with her dog Alfie riding shotgun. In addition, Vicky also enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and being creative while designing beautiful floral arrangements and displays while working as a florist with both Big Bear and Giant Eagle.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tammy (Scott) Lipker of Logan; granddaughter, Cheryl Jarrels of New Albany; longtime special friends, Garry and Wanda Taylor; beloved dog, Alfie; and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 6 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Epic Life Church, 8930 Commerce Loop Dr., where family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until time of service. Betty Lou Hanson, age 80, of Chanceford Township, Felton, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at UPMC Memorial. She was the wife of the late George M. Hanson.

Born February 5, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Brooks) Culp.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by two sons, George E. Hanson, and Scott D. Hanson both of Felton; a daughter, Patricia A. Krout and her husband Ralph, of Felton; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Petrie, of Wellston, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald A. Hanson; a grandson, Randy Hanson; and four brothers, George, Lester, Donald, and Walter Culp.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, March 19, 2021 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, with The Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating. Viewing will be 10-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hanson was born March 8, 1990, in York. He was the son of George Hanson of Felton. Randall was a senior at Red Lion High School. He loved to hunt, fish, and go fossil hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are two brothers and two sisters; grandmother, Betty Hanson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ronald A. Hanson, 46, entered into rest unexpectedly Monday, June 26, 2006.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 17, 1960, he was the son of George M. and Betty (Culp) Hanson of Felton. Ronald was formerly employed as a roofer for Ream's Roofing in Dallastown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Scott Hanson of Oklahoma and Kenneth G. Hanson of Red Lion; one daughter, Courtney Hanson of Red Lion; two brothers, George E. Hanson and Scott D. Hanson, both of Felton; one sister, Patricia Krout of Felton; five nephews; and one niece.

A viewing will be held Monday, July 3, 2006, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald S. French, pastor of Winterstown U.M. Church, officiating. After cremation with the funeral home, burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Felton - Scott D. Hanson, Sr., age 53, of Chanceford Township, Felton, died accidentally on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

Born January 6, 1968 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late George M. and Betty L. (Culp) Hanson, he had been employed at H&H Castings.

Mr. Hanson is survived by two sons, Scott D. Hanson, Jr., of Hellam, and Patrick R. Hanson, of York; two grandchildren, Makayliah, Aliyah; a sister, Patricia A. Krout, and her husband Ralph, of Felton; a brother, George E. Hanson, of Felton; and his former wife, Julie A. Stiles, of Windsor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald A. Hanson.

David C. Petrie, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at his residence.

He was born October 2, 1935 in Lawrence County, Ohio, the son of the late Augustus Clyde Petrie and Nadine Kitts Petrie Welch. David was a 1953 graduate of Cadmus School in Lawrence County and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a 37 ½ year employee of the City of Wellston, where he retired as the Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. David was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9092 in Wellston and the V.F.W. Post 8402 in Jackson. He was an avid gardener and an extreme Ohio State Buckeyes fan
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Culp Petrie; children, Peggy (David) Cushman of Chesapeake, Va., Pamela Hubbard of Columbus, David (Lisa) Petrie of Wellston and John Petrie of Wellston; grandchildren, Joshua Cushman, Amanda Cushman, Michael Cushman and David Cushman, all of Chesapeake, Va., Misty Hubbard of Michigan, Leah Hubbard and Kyla Hubbard, both of Columbus and Nathaniel Petrie and Brandon Petrie, both of Wellston; great-grandchildren, Rayna Cushman, Surge Cushman and Gauge Cushman, all of Wellston; brothers, Bill Petrie of Vinton, Norm Petrie of Reynoldsburg and Daryl Petrie of Jackson; sisters, Mary George and Karen Petrie, both of Vinton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Frank Petrie and sister, Elsie Oiler.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Neal officiating. Walter M. Culp, age 76, of Columbus, Ohio went to start Karaoke in Heaven on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

He enjoyed being a karaoke jockey and it gave him the opportunity to touch many people. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas and Nellie Grace Culp; brothers, George Thomas Culp, Jr. and Donald Lee Culp; son, Christopher Lee Culp; step-daughter, Kimberly Dawn Tormaschy.

Survived by his wife of 34 years, Wilma Culp; son, Adam (Melanie) Culp; granddaughter, Mya Culp; sisters, Betty Hanson and Joyce Petrie; step-children, Michelle (Harold Bruce) Bible, Dennis Allen (Mary) West and Gail (Rick) Brown; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit Tuesday, October 20th from 1-3 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, OH 43081 where a service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Ronald Gardner officiating. Judith Kay Lind passed away on July 18, 2021, at Alaska Regional Hospital surrounded by her loved ones following complications from cervical spine surgery.

Judith was born in Longmont, Colo., and graduated in 1958 from Powell High School in Powell, Wyo. In 1962, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in elementary education. She taught for three years in Denver, Colo., before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1966, where she taught for three years at Rodgers Park Elementary.

In 1969, she married Carl Lind in Girdwood, Alaska, where they lived for two years before moving to Anchorage. In 1987, she returned to teaching as the librarian at Turnagain Elementary until her retirement in 1998.
In retirement, Judith and Carl traveled extensively, both in Alaska and abroad. She made 30 trips over the Alaska Highway, visited all 50 states numerous times, visited 23 foreign countries and five continents. Her favorite camping spot was any Hampton Inn.

Her hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles and anything involving her granddaughter Harper.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Carl; son, Luke; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; granddaughter, Harper; sister, Jana Lohrenz; niece, Kendra Clement; nephew, Seth Hollyman; good friend, Anne Smith; frequent traveling companions, Tom and Sherry Yost; along with many other extended relatives and good friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 20, 2021, from 6-9 p.m., at the Fox Hollow Chalet on Brayton Drive. Please bring any memories to share.

Keith Farley, 61, of Coshocton, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Ohio Health Berger Hospital in Circleville, Ohio.

He was born on October 11, 1959 in Columbus, to Roy Farley and Laura (Lind) Guilliams, who survive. He was a Ridgewood High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years on the USS Guadalcanal. He later became a trade welder.

He had a deep love for music and played the guitar. He was an avid Ohio State University football fan. Keith didn’t know a stranger and always showed kindness to others.

Along with his parents and step-mother, Ivy Farley, Keith is survived by his children, Josh and Nathan Farley of Myrtle Beach and Angela Stull of Newcomerstown;
grandchildren, Sawyer and Rory Farley and siblings, Ladel (Dean) Patterson and Mike (Vickie) Farley.

A cremation will take place with the Miller-Kaser Cremation Services.

Jayne E. Harness, 52, of Athens died Sunday evening, Oct. 10, 2010 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.

Born June 9, 1958 in Columbus, she is the daughter of Rebecca Lind Schirtzinger of Guysville and the late James E. Schirtzinger, Sr.

A 1977 graduate of Westland H.S. and a graduate of Hocking College, she was a home health care aide. She moved to Athens in 1992 and attended Vanderhoff Baptist Church and Living Water Church.

Survived by twin daughter and son, Martha Harness and David (Amber) Harness; son, Jason (Christy) Harness, all of Athens; ten grandchildren; sister, Rebecca (Glenn) Osborne of Guysville; twin brother, Jamie Schirtzinger of The Plains.

Funeral service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at JAGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, Athens with Pastor Craig Holler officiating. Burial in Alexander Cemetery. David Orin Harness III, age 40, of Pomeroy, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born April 27, 1978 in Columbus, he was the son of the late David O. Harness, Jr. and Jayne E. Schirtzinger Harness.

He attended Federal Hocking H.S., Tri-County JVS and Hocking College. He had been employed at AGE Graphics of Little Hocking. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, OSU Football, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.

David is survived by a daughter, Ness Harness of Pomeroy; two sons, David Orin Harness IV of Pomeroy and Michael Harness of Akron; his special friend, Amber (Johnny) McKenzie of Pomeroy; a twin sister, Martha Harness of Guysville; a brother, Jason (Christy) Harness of Hockingport; his grandmother, Rebecca Schirtzinger; an aunt, Rebecca (Glenn)Osborne; an uncle, Jamie Schirtzinger; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday March 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens. Friends may call Saturday 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Nancy D. Weber, age 66, of Marengo, died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.

Born on November 19, 1939 in Columbus to the late Jack and Thelma (Gabbard) Culp. Nancy moved to the Marengo area in 1975 from Columbus and was formerly employed with SCI in Columbus. An active member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She had a passion for roller skating, from meeting her husband and it continued through with her grandchildren. Described as an "awesome" cook, she was known for her homemade noodles, lasagna, and fried chicken. A creative seamstress as well, she made exceptional costumes for her grandchildren.

Survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Norman E. Weber Sr.; children, Norman "Bo" Jr. (Violet), Michael (Jackie), Toni (Vern) Jordan, Daniel (Nancy A.), Mark Weber, and Tracie Weber, all of Marengo; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Myra) Culp of Columbus.

Preceded in death by son Jack Thomas Weber on July 27, 1988.

Sonny loved going to church, and going to the Sprint Car Races and loved family gatherings, especially with all the sweets. He never missed an Ohio State Buckeye Football game.
Norman is survived by his children Mike (Jackie) Weber, Tanya Jordan, Daniel (Jamisue) Weber, Mark (Sharon) Weber and Tracie (Gary) Casey, daughter-in-law Violet Weber, grandchildren Ladawn, Jeremiah, Mike, Matt, Amy, Derek, Angela, Nicole, Erin, Devon, Luke, Jack, Alivia, Nick, Nate and Jay, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, siblings Ralph Weber and Yvonne Condit and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy D. Weber, children Norman "Bo" Weber Jr and Jack Weber, grandchildren Vern and Ember, sibling Raymond Weber, son-in-law Vern Jordan.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral service on Wednesday at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Don Ryan Jr and Don Mann officiating.

Ember Ann Weber, infant daughter of Adrianna Myerholtz and Luke Weber, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 at her home in Cardington, surrounded by her loving family.

Ember was born in Marion, OH, and in addition to her parents, Luke and Adrianna, she is survived by her older sister Paislee Myerholtz, grandparents Jason Myerholtz of Marengo, Michelle Cantrell of Marengo, Dan (Jamisue) Weber of Mt. Gilead, and Nancy Weber of Cardington, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ember is remembered as a sweet, loving, and happy baby who loved to eat and was rarely fussy. She had a crooked grin that could melt any heart and dimples that were as deep as the love her family has for her.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 10th, 2018 at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. St. Rt. 61 in Sunbury, where services will be held immediately following, with Pastor Donnie Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Marengo Cemetery.

Jack Thomas Weber, 26, of Cardington, died Wednesday (July 27, 1988) at the Morrow County Hospital.

Born July 12, 1962 in Columbus, he was a truck driver for Ellis Sunbury, and was formerly employed by Worthington Steel Co.

Survivors include his parents, Norman E. Sr. and Nancy D. (Culp) Weber of Marengo; four brothers, Norman E. of Cardington, Michael Daniel and Mark all of Marengo; and two sisters, Tanjia H. Jordan, and Tracie A. Weber, both of Marengo.

Calling hours will be today, from 4 to 8 p.m., at De Vore Funeral Home, Ohio 3 and 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Frank D. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery.
