  About Wade H Moore - There were two Wade H Moore in Barbour County, West Virginia at the same time.  One was Wade Hansford Moore (born under name Hansford Moore on Mar 20, 1870, Barbour Co., WV)  This Wade was the son of Isaiah Moore and married Dora Jane Edmond, Jan 11, 1897.  This Wade Moore died in 1938.

The other Wade H Moore is the Wade Moore on this web page.  He was born sometime between 1870 - 1875.  His parents are reported to be Silas R Moore and Nancy England.  According to the 1880 Census, Silas and Nancy's Wade was born in 1875.  I could not find a birth record for this Wade.  This Wade married Laura Birdie Corley on Jul 23, 1897. 

Both marriages mentioned above were performed by the same person, Rev R F Dunham in Barbour Co., WV.  It is highly unlikely that the same preacher would marry the same man to a second woman in the same county 7 months later and not remember it.  So the idea that Wade was married to two different women and maintained two separate marriages and children in the same or neighboring counties for decades, is wrong.

There were two Wade H Moore.

On Find A Grave there is Wade Moore reported buried at the Stringtown Cemetery in Belington, Barbour Co., WV, with the dates b. 1875;  d. Nov 20, 1929.  Someone placed the grave marker photograph of the other Wade Hansford Moore (1870-1938), on this record.  Where the 1875 and 1929 years came from is unknown.  There is no actual grave marker or source for the burial of the Wade that died in 1929 in this cemetery.

I have searched several times for a paper record of a death of A-N-Y Wade Moore who has died between 1920 - 1940 with no luck. There are no death records or certificates available for Wade Hansford Moore who was married to Dora, OR for Wade H Moore who was married to Birdie.

There are also no documents that have Hamilton as Wade's middle name.  There are many family trees that have given Wade the middle name of Hamilton.  HOWEVER, there are no historical documents that actually have his middle name as Hamilton.  The middle initial "H" however, is valid.  The middle initial appears in the Census and on the grave marker for daughter Augusta / Augusty.  There are no birth, death, census, marriage, grave markers, etc. that have Wade's full middle name as Hamilton.

m1.? Mae Gibson - Dec 24, 1920, Elkins, Randolph Co., WV - Not sure about this marriage. The age and location (they moved back and forth between Randolph and Barbour) of this Elza matches up. See a copy of this marriage license...  If this is the same Elza, then Mae either passed away or was divorced prior to the marriage with Ellis Corley. I tried tracking down a Mae Gibson in the 1910 and 1920 Census to find out her parents' names, since these census was done prior to the marriage, but cannot find her in these census years.

Thamer Junior Trader, 59, of Pepper Road, Brownton, was dead on arrival at the Broaddus Hospital, Philippi, on Friday, February 14, 2014. He had been in declining health, but his death was unexpected.

He was born December 1, 1954, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Thamer Isaac and Betty Louise (Moore) Trader.

On January 17, 1976, he married the former Sharon Kay Campbell, who survives at their home at Brownton.

Also surviving are three sons, Joseph L. Trader and wife, Shanda, Galloway, Donald Trader and wife, Sherry, Brownton, Scott B. Trader and girlfriend, Rachel Campbell, Bridgeport; two daughters, Jennifer Farris and husband, Jeremy, Philippi, Amanda Trader, Bell Buckle, Tenn.; ten grandchildren, Haiden, Donald, Kiersten, Mercedes and Bradley Trader, Brittney and Ashland Farris, Coalton, Ethan and Gavin Sinsel; one brother, Jerry Trader, Belington; seven sisters, Wilma Campbell, Grafton, Wilda Starkey, Brownton, Terry Lewis, Beverly, Ida Gobel, Burke, Ind., Frances Farris, Flemington, Linda Starkey Brownton and Iwana Bray, Flemington.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Sue McCord and Jeannie Marie Trader and by one brother, David Michael Trader.

Mr. Trader was an auto and truck mechanic. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed digging ginseng and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Jim Davis will officiate and interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour on Tuesday. The Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements

RONALD WAYNE McCORD JR. Ronald Wayne “Doodle” McCord Jr., 31, of Beckley, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 16, 2012, at his home.

He was born August 10, 1980, at Grafton, a son of Ronald Wayne McCord (Sr.), who survives at Brownton and the late Peggy Sue (nee Trader) McCord.

Survivors include his fiancée, JesikaJo Marie Polatty, Beckley; three sons, EvanLee Wayne McCord, Beckley, Hunter Slyvanous McCord and Cordell Walker McCord, Moatsville; two brothers Stanley Keith McCord and Brian Edward McCord, Brownton; and one sister, Trenna Smith, Flemington. Mr.

McCord was an Honor graduate of Philip Barbour High School. While a student at P.B.H.S., he studied carpentry and electrical. He was employed by Creative Exteriors in Beckley as a carpenter. He was Protestant by faith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Randall Montgomery will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Memorial Cemetery.

David Michael Trader, 44, of Brownton community, died Sunday, March 2, in the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.

He was born April 26, 1963, in Barbour County, A son of the late Thamer Isaac and Betty Louise (Moore) Trader.

Survivors include, one daughter, Jennifer Trader, Galloway; two brothers, Jerry Trader, Belington, Thamer Trader Jr., Brownton; seven sisters, Wilma Campbell, Grafton, Terri Lewis, Beverly, Ida Gobel, Burke, Ind., Frances Farris and Iwana Bray, both of Flemington, Wilda Starkey, and Linda Starkey, both of Brownton.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jeannie Marie Trader and Peggy Sue McCord. Mr. Trader was a former construction laborer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his four wheeler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Doyle N. Rider will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. , the funeral hour, on Friday. Frederick J. Moore Jr., 52, of Phoenixville, died Tuesday, Aug., 18, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Moore was born on April 5, 1957, in Clarksburg, W.V., and was a son of Mary E. (Phillips) Moore of Royersford and the late Frederick J. Moore Sr.

Before illness forced his retirement, Mr. Moore was a maintenance worker at College Arms Apartments in Collegeville.

He loved camping and the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Moore is survived by his siblings, Roger D. Moore of Royersford, Mary D. Stroup and her husband, Wayne, of Gilbertsville, Francis P. Moore and his wife, Ellen, of Collegeville, and E. Faye Postek and her husband, Dennis, of Collegeville.

A memorial service was held on Aug. 22 at Holcombe Funeral Home in Trappe.

Mrs. Postek was born on August 22, 1960, in Pottstown. She was the daughter of Mary E. (Phillips) Moore and the late Frederick Moore.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Postek is survived by her children, Christin Postek companion of Scott Guerin, Emmaus, and Dennis A. Man fatally shoots sister, niece then kills himself

PERRY, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio Sheriff’s Office says a 62-year-old man fatally shot his sister and her daughter as the pair prepared to move out of his home and then killed himself.

The bodies of Ralph Moore Jr., 59-year-old Vickie Thornhill and 19-year-old Arianna Cope were found around 8:30 a.m. Saturday by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy in Perry Township, about 35 miles (56 kilometers) east of Cleveland.

Chief Deputy Frank Leonbruno says Thornhill and Cope were planning to move out Saturday and that Moore was distraught about the prospect of living alone.

Leonbruno says Moore called another sister to tell her what he’d done before killing himself.

Irene Lucille Moore Wolfe, 82, of Phillips Dairy Rd. Buckhannon passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the comfort of her daughters home with family by her side.

She was born in Monangah in Marion County stet [Bertha, Monogalia Co., WV] on October 5, 1934 a daughter of the late Elsie [Elza] Moore and Ellis Corley Moore.

She is survived by nine children: Dorothey Wolfe (companion, Steve Messer), Ellis Wagner (husband Robert), Clearance D. Wolfe Jr. (wife, Sharon), William Ray Wolfe, Pearlla Sothen (husband Jim), Edith Tenney (husband Denver), Jeff Wolfe, Wilma Ryder (husband Chad), and Darryl Wolfe (wife Tammy); 24 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; one sister, Glen Lantz; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Aaron Brian Wolfe; five siblings: Bob, Jack, Betty, Jean, and Eddie; and two daughter-in-laws: Judy Wolfe, and Lisa Wolfe.

Irene was a devoted housewife who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the loving compassionate care provided by her caregivers and WV Hospice of Buckhannon.

Friends and family will gather at Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral & Cremation at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6. 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with Chaplan Jennifer Suehs-Vassel officiating. Interment will follow in Heavener Cemetery.

He was born September 10, 1961, at Philippi, a son of Glenna Shirlene (Moore) Lantz, who survives at Philippi and the late William Junior Taylor.

Also surviving are one daughter, Heather Nowak and husband, Ryan, Wausau, WI; one son, Jesse Taylor, Edgar,WI; four sisters, Mary Taylor, Elkins, Barbara Blake, Kerens, Rachel Croston, Flemington, Rebecca Evix, Philippi; two brothers, Robert Taylor, Gordonsville, VA and Charles Taylor in VA; a half-sister, Jeanie Bailey, Clarksburg; a grandson, Xander Nowak, Wausau.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Julie Haller.

Mr. Taylor was a former machine operator in plastic manufacturing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved Jeeps and 4 wheelers and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Mr. Taylor’s remains have been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery and interment will follow.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Trader and two brothers, Frederick Junior Moore and Ralph Lee Moore. Ms. Moore was a homemaker and was Baptist.

He was born August 25, 1971, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Brooks Cleavenger and the late Gloria Jean Moore.

Surviving are two daughters, Miranda Alace Cleavenger, Fayetteville, Samantha Marco, Cleveland, Oh.; his long time companion, Rhonda Phillips, Fayetteville; his former wife, Heather Cleavenger, Fayetteville; four sisters, Brigetta McVicker, Myrtle Beach, NC, Carmella Cleavenger and Crystal Marsh, both of Charlotte, NC and Jeanie Bailey, Philippi.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Julie Dawn Haller. Mr.

Cleavenger had been employed in residential construction and roofing. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed playing basketball.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 15, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Howard Swick will officiate and interment will follow in the Knights of Pythias Mountain View Cemetery at Junior.

Mrs. Haller was born April 8, 1973, at Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Gloria Jean Moore and the late William Junior Taylor. On January 21, 1995, she was married to Roger Wayne Haller, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Sierra Marie Haller, Cassie Dawn Haller and Jeremy Caleb Haller, all at home; four sisters, Brigetta McVicker, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Carmella Duffy and Crystal Marsh, Charlotte, N.C., Jeanie Bailey, Clarksburg; one brother, Whaylon Cleavenger, Atlanta, GA; and her mother-in-law, Arlene Haller, Philippi.

Mrs. Haller was a homemaker and was a devoted mother. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 26, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Howard Swick will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Winfred Darrell Moore Sr., 79, of Fredericktown R.D.1 (Centerville) died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 23, 1981, in Washington Hospital.

He was born September 24, 1901, in Weaver, W. Va., a son of Wade and Laura Corley Moore.

A member of UMW Local No. 762, he was employed as a miner by Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Vesta Mine No. 5, before his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Cora O. Huhn Moore; one son, Winfred Darrell Moore Jr. of New Salem; one daughter, Mrs. Norma Rae Rager of Brownsville; one brother, Elza Moore of Brownton, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Velve Heatherly of Proctor, W. Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Cora Olive Moore, 82, of Fredericktown R.D.1, died Monday, April 28, 1986, in Presbyterian Medical Center of Washington.

She was born June 10, 1903, Messmore, a daughter of Ulysses Grant and Mary Elizabeth Haney Huhn.
Mrs. Moore was a member of Taylor United Methodist Church.

Her husband, Winfred Darrell Moore Sr., died March 23, 1981.

Surviving are one son, Darrell Moore Jr. of Uniontown R.D.4; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Norma) Rager of Fredericktown R.D.1, one sister, Hannah Stewart of Willowick, Ohio, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Two brothers, Leonard and Chester Huhn, are deceased.

Norma R. Rager, 85 of Centerville, PA died Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Donnell House, Washington, PA.

She was born December 1, 1929 in Brownsville, PA a daughter of the late Winfred Darrell and Cora O. Huhn Moore.

A homemaker, Mrs. Rager was a longtime member of the Taylor United Methodist Church and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705, Centerville, where she held several offices.
She enjoyed machine bowling and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

On August 7, 1951 she married Lloyd Keith Rager who passed away on April 19, 1997.

Surviving are two children, Carol A. Crockett (Jim) of Coal Center, PA and Robert K. Rager (Cindy) of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough); three grandchildren, Jim Crockett, Jr., Kelly Crockett and Samantha Rager; four great grandchildren, Alyssa J Crockett, Brody Crockett, Vincent Manzella Crockett and Brayden Crockett; one brother, Darrell Moore, Jr. (Margaret) of New Salem, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a sister who died in infancy.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 12 noon with Rev. Max Miller and Rev. Dr. Thomas St. Clair co-officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Taylor United Methodist Church, 600 Old National Pike, Brownsville, PA 15417.

Alexandria White, 57, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 14, 2006.

Alexandria was deeply devoted to both God and her family.

Preceded in death by her niece, Nicole Palumbo, she will be missed by her husband, David White; children, Michelle Rager (Frank), Eric Rager (Cindy), Barbara Saenz (Cristian), and Christopher White (Rinda); mother, Lucille McCauley; sister, Diana Wright; nine grandchildren; nephew, Richard Palumbo (Brenda); many dear friends, including Patrick Hill and Halimah Hasan-Lowe.

A private memorial service has been held for family and close friends.

Anthony J. Cannavino SMSGT-USAF (Retired) Anthony J. Cannavino, 77, of Endicott, passed away on Thursday afternoon, December 18, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and John Cannavino, both of Endicott. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Gloria (Ramsey) Cannavino; six sons, John and Deborah, Wilton, Conn., Anthony and Candy, Easton, Pa., Thomas and Diane, Endicott, Patrick and Paul, Scottsdale,. Ariz., James and Virginia, Ithaca, and Paul and Linda,, Endicott; seventeen grandchildren, Lisa Davis and her husband, Brian, John and his wife, Clarissa, Allison, Robert, Catie, Michael, Cori, Caylin, Brittney, Dina, Anthony, Tom, Michelle, Alyssa, Jim, Nicole, and Nadine; two great-grandchildren, John and Aiden; two sisters, Rosalie and her husband, Bill Welch, and Gloria and her husband, Joe Masters; aunts, Virginia DiFrancesco, Pauline Cannavino, Mary Cannavino, Uncle Victor LaStella; as well as numerous cousins.

Anthony was born on October 7, 1931 in Endicott. He retired from the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant with twenty-five years of service, having been stationed with his family in several foreign countries. Upon retirement from the service he opened and ran his own real estate office, Action Realty-Realty USA. He was an active member of the Endicott Rotary for many years. Anthony was very devoted to his family, by whom he will be sorely missed.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church Food Pantry, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. 13760.

Erin Kay Heatherly, age 51 a resident of Belington, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning March 4, 2019 from United Hospital Center at Clarksburg. She had been in declining health for quite some time.

She was born August 21, 1967 at Philippi, WV, a daughter of Darl Henry “Whitey” and Karen Sue Coberly Heatherly, who survive at Belington.

In addition to her parents she is survived by one brother; Evan Darrell Heatherly of Belington, two uncles; David L Heatherly and wife Kim of Shinnston and Gary L.  two nieces; Taylor and Eden Heatherly. The family would like to thank and recognize the special great care givers Erin had over the past several years.

Erin attended the special services center at Belington Middle School and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Saturday March 9, 2019 from 1:00 – 2: 00 pm. A memorial service will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor James Strawderman officiating. Cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Belington Public Library P.O. Box 878 Belington, WV 26250. Larry S. “Poppy” Ohrn, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston after a brief illness.

He was born in Chicago, in 1939, the son of the late Lester Severin and Lillymae Havis Ohrn.

He joined the US Army at a young age and became a sharpshooter. He was awarded several medals of merit for marksmanship as a part of the 21st Infantry. He retired from the Bureau of Public Debt after 40 years in the Treasury Dept. He was an avid NASCAR fan, bowler, hunter, outdoorsman, was a member of Blennerhassett VFW Post 1212, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 169. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pat; a daughter, Diane Brundige (Bob) of New Windsor, MD; sons, Larry Ohrn (Lynn) of Davisville, WV and Harry Ray Fluharty Jr. (Tracey) of Waxhaw, NC, Kevin Ohrn (Terri) of Sandyville, WV, and Danny Ohrn of Phoenix, AZ.; grandchildren, Courtney Brundige, Bobby Brundige (Melanie), Joshua Brundige, Tyler, Emily, Caitlyn, and Brady Ohrn; great-granddaughter, Emma Brundige; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Ohrn (Carol) of Rolling Meadows, IL. and Lester Ohrn (Carol) of Simpsonville, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Connie; his sister, Sandra Maas; and his great-grandson, Caleb.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Vienna with Rev. Sandy Runion officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
