POINT PLEASANT, WEST VIRGINIA: Park
D. McDaniel, Jr., 76, died June 25, 1999 in Lexington, KY.
He was born July 17, 1922 in Point Pleasant to the late Park D.
McDaniel, Sr. and Bessie E. Bennett McDaniel. He retired from
Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. with 25 years of service. He
was an early organizer and board member of the Point Pleasant
EMS, and was an emergency medical technician for 20 years. He
was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the
Boilermakers Local in Fairmont. He attended Krebs Chapel Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Norman and Brenda (Jim)
Spencer, both of Point Pleasant; three sisters, Marjorie Gardner
of New Haven, and Doris Moore and Charlotte Browning, both of
Point Pleasant; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel
McDaniel. Interment with military honors was at Lone Oak
Cemetery by Wilcoxen Funeral Home. |

McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant
son Patrick. She is survived by two daughters Donna Denais of
Point Pleasant, WV, and Danielle Spencer of Point Pleasant, WV,
and sister Brenda Spencer of Waterboro, S.C., and grandchildren
Daniel Scarberry, Jasmine Scarberry, Darrien Scarberry, Logan
Baisden, Zachary Denais, and Justice Denais. |

Donna Leah Denais, 36, of Point
Pleasant, WV, passed away April 10, 2015, at Cabell Huntigton
Hospital. She was born August 24, 1978, in Mason County, WV, a
daughter to the late Linda McDaniel Norman, and Donnie Norman.
She was a beautiful young mother to three children. Her children
were her life. Donna enjoyed watching t.v., listening to music,
taking walks, and being around her loved ones. There isn't
anything she wouldn't do for someone, as long as she had it. She
is loved and will be missed dearly by all.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda McDaniel Norman.
She is survived by her father Donnie Norman; her loving
children, two sons, Justice Denais and Zachary Denais, and
daughter Darrien Denais. Also, sister Dani Scarberry; brother
Jonathan Norman; two granddaughters; and a host of other family
and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 11
AM, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Jack McCoy
officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday,
from 10-11 AM, prior to the service. |

for Ralph H. Burns, co..
He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a sister Polly
Wiemer. He is survived by his two sons David Bowman of Point
Pleasant,WV, Joe and Brandy Bowman of Gallipolis, OH, and
brother Willie and Terri Bowman of Blacksville, WV, and
grandchildren Mariah Bowman, Halley Bowman, Jason Krouse, and
Brittany Krouse.
Funeral Services will be at the Deal Funeral Home at 1 PM on
Friday, August 19, 2011 with Pastor Isaiah Crump officiating.
Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery. Friends may visit

Carl Bert Mercer, 84, of South
Charlston, WV, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.
He was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Ellenboro, WV, a son of the late
A.C. Bert and Ruby Johnson Mercer
He was a 1943 graduate of Pennsboro High School. He enlisted in
the U.S. Army Air Force and was accepted into the Aviation Cadet
Program. He was awaiting preflight training to become a pilot
when the war ended. He graduated from Marietta College with a
B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering and was also a graduate of
Penn State University Executive Management Program. He was a
member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, a 50-plus year 32nd
Degree member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, and an
active member of First Presbyterian Church of Charleston and the
Covenant Sunday School class.
He began working for United Fuel Gas Company in 1950 as a junior
engineer. He remained with United Fuel and its successor,
Columbia Gas Transmission, for 35 years. He served on the
American Gas Association Gas Measurement Committee and was a past
president. He was a member of Mountaineer Woodturners, American
Association of Woodturners, and Valley Woodturners. His work
juried by Showcase West Virginia and Tamarack, and he
participated in craft shows throughout the state.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Emma Jean Hatfield Mercer;
three children, Susan Miles and husband Paul of Lincolnton, NC,
Dr. Wayne Mercer and his wife Elizabeth of Charlotte, NC, and
Chris Mercer and wife Judy of South Charleston; three
grandchildren, Kristin, Sophie and Chandler Mercer; a nephew, Ed
Mercer of Dayton, OH; two nieces, Ann Zedaker of Poland, OH, and
Kathy Sheets of Sorrento, FL; and a sister-in-law, Helen Sheets
of Sorrento.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a
brother, Earl Mercer; and a brother-in-law, Russell Sheets.
Services were held Sunday, Aug. 22nd, in Charleston, with burial
in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV. |

Robert M. "Bob" Snider, 81 of
Hundred, WV left this world on March 15, 2008 at his home
following poor health for several years.
He was born November 17, 1926 to Mitchell and Martha Snider. He
served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an
employee of Columbia Gas for 30 years and also operated Snider's
Mobile Home Park. He was a member of the Rush Run United
Methodist Church.
Bob is preceded in death by a sister, Helen Snider Pethtel and a
brother, Jack Snider.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Doris Lee, daughter of the
late Arlie and Verda Church. Bob and Doris Lee were blessed with
five children, Steve Snider, Rich Snider, Darlene Walker, Karla
James and Todd Snider, as well as ten grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate family
members with the Rev. Charlene Edwards officiating. Burial was
in the Harmony Cemetery at Burton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Rush
Run United Methodist Church, c/o Julie Jones, Treasurer, Route 1
Box 105, Metz, WV 26585. |

Doris Lee Church Snider, 81, of
Hundred, WV was being cared for at her home when she left this
world on February 12, 2009, following a long battle with
Alzheimer's.
She was born June 22, 1927, beloved only child of Arlie and
Verda (Smith) Church. Doris Lee attended nurses training at
North Wheeling Hospital from 1945 until her graduation in 1948.
She was married to Robert M. Snider on September 22,1948 and
they enjoyed 59 years together until his passing in March 2008.
Both were faithful members of the Rush Run United Methodist
Church. Doris Lee was a loving and devoted mother to five
children created by their union: Steve Snider, Rich Snider,
Darlene Walker, Karla James and Todd Snider. She also enjoyed
ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held for the immediate family
members with the Rev. Charlene Edwards officiating. Burial was
in the Harmony Cemetery at Burton.
