1905 - 1910 - Martha divorces John Lee
Holden. Must have been a heated divorce because Martha is
never again in the same county as her ex-husband. They
even split-up the children. Carl lives with John and
Thelma lives with her mother Martha. In 1952, when John
Lee Holden dies, he leaves his daughter $1 and everything else,
went to his son. However, son Carl died two years before
John.....so everything went to Carl's wife Noka according to the
will for John. |

1910 - Census - The family is now split up.

About wife Noka.
Her mother died giving birth to her on Dec 29, 1902 (Grave
marker for mother says 1903. However, this is a newer
marker, so chances are the wrong year was placed there). In
the birth records for Harrison county a Baby Girl Frum was
born to the couple on Dec 29, 1902.
In the 1910
Census, 7 year old Noka Frum is living in the household of
Agrippa Napoleon Lawson in Simpson, Harrison Co., WV as a
boarder. Her father is living as a boarder in the
Luticia Swager household in Coal, Harrison Co., WV.
Her father dies in 1917. In the 1920 Census, she is
still living in the Lawson household. This is where
the last name Lawson comes from, her adopted family.
Although, on the 1910 and 1920 census records, her last name
is always Frum.
