Erma
Catherine Woolwine, age 85 years, a resident of
Elkins, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 in the
Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a
sudden illness.
She was born November 25, 1924 in Randolph County, a
daughter of the late Henry B. Goff and the late
Mildred Hedrick Goff. She was married to Roy F.
Woolwine, Sr. who preceded her in death in September
1993.
Surviving are her children, Doris J. Boggs,
Montrose, Roy Woolwine, Jr. and wife Vicki, Elkins,
Bruce Woolwine and wife Jeanie, Beverly and Tama
Dickinson and husband Bob, Anstead, WV.,

grandchildren, Lisa and Sean
Boggs and wife Rhonda, Julie Blosser and husband Rick, Marie
Rasmussen and husband Jason , Samantha Sorrell and husband
Jonathon, Melissa Kincaid and husband Darrell and Rebekah
Dickinson and great grandchildren Chad and Caden Boggs,
Tyler Blosser, Jenna, Samuel and Icie
Also preceding her in death were an infant son, Kent
Woolwine in 1951 and a sister, Irene Goff Stauffer.
Erma was an active member of the Woodford Memorial United
Methodist Church for over 50 years, and served as a District
Officer of the Buckhannon District of the United Methodist
Women in 1995. She was a member of the Randolph Chapter No.
74 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Tygart Valley
Lady Oriental Shrine Club and the Retired Service Personnel
Association. She was employed as a Cook for the Randolph
County Schools and was honored as “Cook of the Year” in the
1985-86 School Year and retired in 1989.
Mrs. Woolwine will be sadly missed by her family,
grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, June
2, 2010 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral
service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 3, 2010 from
the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for
Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505 in memory of
Mrs. Woolwine. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in
charge of the arrangements for Erma Catherine Woolwine.

David Ray Boggs, 64, a
resident of the Teter Creek Lake community, departed this
life Friday, June 30, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital
following a short illness.
He was born Jan. 19, 1942, at Elkins, a son of the late
Jacob S. and Melinda Davis Boggs, formerly of the Poe Run
community.
Surviving are his wife, Doris J. (Woolwine) Boggs
and children, Lisa Y. Boggs, Sean D. Boggs and wife, Rhonda,
and grandson, Chad J. Boggs, whom he adored, all of Elyria,
Ohio. Also surviving are two brothers, Herbert of Cleveland,
Ohio, and Clyde and wife, Shirley, of Crimora, Va.; and
several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Roscoe and
Lenard; and a sister, Linda (Boggs) Chenoweth.
David was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of
1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. He was
employed at St. Regis Paper Co. in Cleveland, later moving
to Elyria, where he was employed by B. F. Goodrich Chemical
until his retirement in 2000. David will be sadly missed by
his loved ones.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn
Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, July 4, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor
David Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in
Maplewood Cemetery. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in
charge of the arrangements for David Ray Boggs. Condolences

Letha Mae Woolwine, 60, passed
away Saturday, July 12, 2008, in the Davis Memorial
Hospital. She suffered from multiple sclerosis and had been
in declining health.
Letha was a lifelong resident of Kerens until she became a
patient at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center in 1999.
Letha was born Sept. 1, 1947, at Elkins. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Louie and Zetha Murphy-Vandevender.
Surviving are her two brothers, William Vandevender of
Pennsylvania, and David Vandevender of Kerens.
In 1965, she married Roy F. Woolwine Jr., and the couple had
two daughters, Julie and Marie. Julie Blosser and her
husband, Rick, reside in Kerens along with Letha's oldest
grandson, Tyler Phillips , 17. Marie and her husband, Jason,
reside in Sparland, Ill., along with Letha's grandchildren,
Genevieve Grace, 5, and Samuel Isaac, 4.
Letha was a 1965 graduate of Elkins High School. She worked
as a secretary at Farm Credit until becoming disabled. She
attended the Hart's Chapel Church at Kerens and was a member
of the Randolph Chapter No. 74 Order of the Eastern Star.
Letha never met a stranger and was well known for her
infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Tuesday at
Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be
conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, at the funeral
home chapel with Pastor Ken Shiflet officiating. Interment
will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be
made to the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center Activity
Fund, 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memory of
Letha. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the

Bruce
Dewain Woolwine age 70 years, a former resident of
Beverly, passed from this life February 4, 2020 in
the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center following an
extended illness.
He was born September 16, 1949 at Elkins, a son of
the late Roy F. Woolwine, Sr. and Erma Goff
Woolwine. In March of 2006 he was married to Ialanta
“Jeanie” Woolwine, who preceded him in death
February, 27, 2019.
Left to cherish his memory is a step-daughter,
Brenda K. Vanscoy and husband Teddy of Montrose;
|
two sisters, Doris J. Boggs
of the Teter Creek Lake Community and Tama C. Dickinson and
husband Bob of Ansted, WV and one brother, Roy F. Woolwine,
Jr. and wife Vicki of the Fairview Community, Elkins. Two
step grandchildren, Heath and Lauren Vanscoy, several
special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also
survive.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Kent
Thomas Woolwine and his grandparents, Guy and Icie Woolwine
and Henry B. and Mildred (Hedrick) Goff.
Bruce was a member
of both the Elkins Junior High School and Elkins High School
Marching Bands. After graduation from Elkins High School, he
served his country proudly by joining the United States Navy
serving in Vietnam. Bruce was employed by the West Virginia
Department of Highways as a Bridge Inspector until his
retirement.
He was a member of HW Daniels Post 29 American
Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
At the request of the deceased, he will be cremated. The
family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am
Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in
Elkins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am
Saturday, February 15th from the funeral home with Pastor
Ann Fretwell officiating. Interment will follow in the
American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery near Cravensdale.
Full Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by
the United States Navy, H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion
and Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family requests
in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Mountain
Hospice, 1600 Crim Ave., Belington, WV 26250 in memory of
Bruce. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of
the arrangements for Bruce Dewain Woolwine. Condolences may
