1920 - Census - Unable to locate Lenora
using her name Lenora Kittle Because of her marriage
date to Winston, I suspected she was in Texas in 1920. Who she was
living there with or why she ended up in Texas was a mystery.
I did find a Lenora Coberly living with a "brother" Arthur M
Coberly in Fort Worth, TX that fit her age and birth location. I
noted this in my research because of the family ties with the Coberly
family in Randolph Co., WV. I tried tracking Arthur M
Coberly's movements through history to figure out who is parents were,
but there were a few other Arthur Coberly's in the records. I was
not able to narrow it down.
Then, while researching the children of Lenora and Winston I came across
the birth certificate for their first son Lewis Gordon Tucker.
Mother name given is Lenora Coberly, not Lenora Kittle. So she was
using the last name Coberly at some point. She might have been
married to this Coberly or was just using the last name. I then
came across the TN death certificate for daughter Mary Ann Tucker.
Mother's name given was, Lenora Coberly.
Therefore, there is a strong possibility that the Lenora I found with
Arthur M Coberly in Fort Worth on the 1920 Census is THIS Lenora Kittle. |
