Middle name of Ward - Unable to locate any historical
documents that have the full middle name of "Ward" for Margaret.
The middle initial of "W" appears in numerous places,
but not the full name.
The only place that "Ward" appears as a middle name is on
the Find A Grave website where there is a lot of made-up information.
Therefore, Ward may or may not actually be Margaret's middle
name. |

Richard
“Rick” Cory Patrick, 54, resident of Streetsboro,
Ohio, and a former resident of Elkins, passed away
unexpectedly on June 12, 2017.
He was born Aug. 6, 1962, in Quantico, Virginia, a
son of the late Carolyn Patrick Roy and Staff Sgt.
Tex Delano Patrick of Elkins. Living out of state,
Rick enjoyed spending his spare time at his favorite
getaway in Glady, where he and his surviving
brother, Wesley, and best friend, Jimmy, built a
longtime dream cabin to enjoy some of their favorite
activities. Rick and his brother Wes enjoyed fishing
and camping. Rick also enjoyed traveling, yard
work, grilling/cooking and was an avid enthusiast of
home improvements. Rick was a passionate Steelers
fan, and in his younger years enjoyed playing
baseball, which led into umpiring. |
On Feb. 17, 2005, he married
Pamela Brown Patrick, who survives at home alongside a
stepson Derrick Good. He also is survived by one brother,
Wesley Dean Patrick, (wife Wendy) of Raleigh, North
Carolina, and one sister, Dana Burke (husband Zack) and
nephew Cory Dean Carpenter of Elkins, favorite aunt Joan
Lunsford of Lake Worth, Florida, and best friend Jimmy
Fansler.
He’s proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Geneva
and Daniel Church of Valley Bend, and paternal grandparents
Beulah and Carl Patrick of Galion, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School, and received a
business administration degree from Marshall University in
1984. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and
obtained the rank of sergeant with an M.O.S. (Military
Occupation Specialty) to be a club manager before being
diagnosed with cancer of which he was a 30-year survivor.
Rick spent more than 25 years in distribution management in
the industrial gas industry, starting with MG Industries in
1990. Rick was well-liked and respected by everyone and
could relate to drivers, managers, vendors and corporate
executives.
Rick got to see a lot of the country throughout his career
with assignments in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Indiana,
California, Texas and, most recently, Cleveland, Ohio, but
his heart was always in West Virginia. He was director, zone
transportation for Airgas Merchant Gases and LLC at the time
of his passing. Rick developed a second family through his
career. He was a role model, mentor, friend and confidant to
more people then probably realized.
A memorial service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at
a later date. Charitable donations can be sent to Operation
Homefront, American Cancer Association or a charity of your
choice in memory of Rick. Arrangements are entrusted to
Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. |
