John
Eric Fazio, age 64, of Westover, passed away Friday
afternoon, April 8, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1951 in Fairmont, a son of
the late John and Lorraine (Canfield) Fazio.
Survivors include his wife of more than 32 years,
Judith Kathleen Call Fazio; his siblings, William R.
"Bill" Stout and his wife Tina of Mannington, WV,
Timothy E. "Tim" Stout and his wife Sharon of
Rachel, WV; Thomas Fazio and his wife Heidi of
Westminster, MD, John Fazio, Jr. of Baltimore, MD
and Onza Demestihas and her husband Sam of
Lutherville, MD; several nieces and nephews;
|
and his extended family Creston
Stout and his wife Christi of Morgantown and Eugenia Matheny
and her husband Craig of Mannington, WV.
Mr. Fazio was a graduate of the former Mannington High
School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force,
having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from
the Federal #2 Mine with more than 20 years of service in
various capacities and earned the nickname "Preacher", as he
was called by so many of his friends there.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints, and served two years as a missionary in
Oakland, CA. He was a San Francisco 49er's fan and enjoyed
watching John Wayne as well as collecting memorabilia for
both. He dearly loved his nieces and nephews, and always
remembered his family and friends on their birthdays.
Friends may join with the family in honoring Mr. Fazio's
life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108
Holland Ave., Morgantown on Tuesday, April 12th from
4:00-8:00 PM. On Wednesday, April 13th, Mr. Fazio will be
moved to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints,
161 Meadow View Lane, Morgantown (Cheat Lake), where he will
lay in repose from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral
service at 1:00 PM with Bishop Travis White officiating. He
will be laid to rest in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens,
Westover, where Full Military Honors will be accorded. To
