before she marries Robert Wells. Both are with her in the
1950 Census.
The first child was Jimmy Earl
Rorrer, b. Oct 21,
1939, Cabell Co., WV ; d. May 23, 2007, Huntington, Cabell
Co., WV. In the 1940 Census he shows up
at 5 months under the name James Bloore a son of Irene
(Elizabeth's sister). In Irene's 1950 Census, he is
not with her but with Elizabeth under the name Jimmy Rorrer
(indexed Dorrer), 10 years old. SS Application
Jimmy gives father's name as Earl Rorrer. So the actual
parentage of Jimmy Earl Rorrer, is questionable.
The second child is Jacqueline
Lou Fowler, b. Feb
24, 1942, Huntington, Cabell Co., WV ; d. Jan 19, 2010,
Circleville, Pickaway Co., OH. She first appears with
Elizabeth in the 1950 Census at age 7 under the name
Jacqueline Rorrer (indexed Rover). Jacqueline goes on
to marry at least 4 times to ?Mellet, McElroy, Smith, and
finally Neuvirth in 1983. Father for Jacqueline is
given as Howard E Fowler. Parentage for Jacqueline is
also questionable.
I am unable to find any actual marriage records of
Elizabeth Pauline Grant including the marriage to Robert Wells. |

AVON LAKE – Debra Jean Muhich
(nee: Wells), 65 years of age, and a resident of Avon Lake,
passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at The Woods of French
Creek in Avon following a lengthy illness.
Debra was born February 26, 1951, in Huntington, WV, where
she lived until she was 11 years old. She then moved to
Lorain, Elyria, and then made Avon Lake her home for the
last 10 years.
Debra worked as a Teacher’s Aid at the Elyria City Schools
for 29 years before retiring in 2015. She was a member at
Calvary Baptist in Avon Lake where she participated in the
Celebrate Recovery program.
Survivors include her husband of forty-six years James
Nicholas; her sons Jason (Jennifer) Muhich of Sheffield
Twp.; Daniel Muhich of Stow; her daughter Elizabeth (Terry)
Muhich-Woody of Elyria; nine grandchildren; and her sister
Sue Skrepich of Amherst. |
Debra was preceded in death by her siblings Bobby Wells, Jim
Rorrer, and Jackie Neuvirth; and her parents Robert Clarence
and Elizabeth Pauline Wells (nee:Grant).
Friends may call Monday, March 14, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.,
Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11a.m.
at the funeral home. The Rev. David Skelton, pastor of
Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Lake will officiate. Burial
will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio. |

NELLIE MAY WELLS TICKLE ROGERS,
83, of Huntington, died Monday, September 8, 2003, in St.
Mary's Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be
held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2003, at Woodmere
Memorial Park.
She was born December 20, 1919, in Huntington, a daughter of
the late James Andrew and Nannie B. Carico Wells. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. In addition to her parents, she is
preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Rogers; four
brothers, Bennie Wells, Robert Wells, John Wells and Fred
Wells; three sisters, Mable York, Mary Etta Triplett and
Rebecca Scarberry; and by three stepchildren, Jim and Bob
Rogers and Jane Rogers Wright.
She is survived by two sons, James F. Tickle of Huntington,
and Ronald P. Tickle and his wife Mary of Van Nuys, Calif.;
one stepdaughter, Connie Rogers Stanley of Barboursville,
W.Va.; four grandchildren, Patricia Tickle Knight of
Huntington, Tammy Tickle Komenda of Plano, Texas, John
Rodriguez of Cincinnati, Tony Rodriguez of Fort Lee, Va.;
and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Bryan, Tyler A.
Knight, Trevor A. Komenda and Simmone Komenda. She is also
survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special
friends.
The family would like to give many thanks to Hospice of
Huntington and St. Mary's Medical Center for all the special
care given to Mrs. Rogers. There will be no visitation.

MARY ANN TICKLE Age 66, of Van
Nuys died on March 7.
She was born May 13, 1942 near Alcester, South Dakota. She
married Ronald Tickle October 18, 1969 and lived in Van Nuys
for 35 years. Mary was an active member of First Lutheran
Church in Van Nuys and was known for sharing her faith in
her gentle caring of others. She was a gifted musician.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ron Tickle; her
mother, Wilma Siemers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her
brother, Richard Siemers of Tyler, Minnesota; her
brother-in-law, James F. Tickle of Huntington, Wes t
Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church,
6952 Van Nuys Blvd., in Van Nuys, noon, at Saturday, March
14, 2009. Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills
from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, March 13, 2009. |

Ronald
Paul Tickle, 84, passed away on March 4, 2024, in
Huntington, WV. Ron was a beloved husband and,
brother, uncle, and friend.
Born on December 14, 1939 in Huntington. Ron lead a
fulfilling life dedicated to his family, career and
church. Ron left Huntington after attending Marshall
University in 1960 and went to California.
Ron was a proud veteran, having served in the United
States Navy from 1962-1965. His military service
instilled in him values of dedication, discipline
and service to others.
After his time in the Navy, he pursued a career as a
lighting technician for Electrical Union in Van
Nuys, California from 1963-2002. He worked on movie
sets. |
He was an active member of the
Studio Electrical Union 728, serving on the Executive Board
as a treasurer from 1975-1985. Later he earned the highest
medal of honor, The Gold Card. He was honored for his
service, in recognition of his dedication and hard work.
In addition to his military and professional
accomplishments, Ron was a devoted member of the Church of
Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. He moved back to Huntington,
WV in 2017.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Walter S Rogers and
mother, Nellie May Wells Tickle Rogers His beloved wife of
40 years Mary Ann Siemers Tickle who passed away in 2009.
He is survived by his brother James F. Tickle, Shelby
Tickle, Nieces; Patricia Tickle Runyon, husband Clyde, Tammy
Tickle Komenda, husband Jeff. Nephews; John Rodriquez, wife
Julie, Tony Rodriquez, wife Michelle. Great Nieces; Ashley
Bryan, Simmone Komenda (TGC) and Natalie Rodriquez. Great
Nephews; Tyler Knight, Trevor Komenda, wife Megan, John
Rodriguez, Jr and Tony Rodriquez, Jr. who will cherish his
memory forever.
Graveside services will be held Friday, 11:00, March 8, 2024
at Woodmere Memorial Park by Elder Kim Wolfe. Interment will
follow. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of
Huntington. Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

MR. FREDERICK T. WELLS, 78, of
Barboursville, husband of Geneva Scarberry Wells, passed
away Saturday, Oct. 26, in St. Mary's Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 28, at Woodmere Abbey of Peace, with the Rev.
Paul Ray Farley officiating; burial will follow in Woodmere
Memorial Park.
He was born June 12, 1924, in Huntington, a son of the late
James A. and Nannie Carrico Wells. He was a retired
conductor from CSX Transportation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
three brothers, Benny, John and Robert and three sisters,
Becky Scarberry, Marietta Triplett and Mabel York.
Additional survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy
L. and James M. Mundy of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Tom and Barbara Wells of Barboursville and
J.A. and Joy Wells of Huntington; a sister, Nellie Rogers of
Huntington; seven grandchildren, Dana Luczyszyn, Tiffany
Crawford, Jamie Pemberton, Tracy Wells, Shanon Mundy, Shane

conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the
Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by
Rev. Amy Sutherlun. Entombment will be in White
Chapel Memorial Gardens.
He was born October 10, 1990 in Huntington, a son of
Polly Triplett Groves of Huntington, and Gregory
Alan White of Charleston.
He is also survived by his step-father, David E.
Groves, Huntington; one sister, Sara Groves of
Huntington; one brother, Blake White of Charleston;
Maternal grandparents, Linual B. And Patricia L.
Sansom of Barboursville; |
paternal grandmother, Betty
Peters-White of Charleston; step-grandparents, David H. and
Christy C. Groves of Huntington; uncles, James Michael
Triplett and Steven Scott Triplett; aunts, Shari White

BECKY SCARBERRY, 73, of
Huntington, wife of Hartley L. Scarberry, died Wednesday at
home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sherry E. Roberts of
Huntington and Karen L. Smith and Sharon Morris, both of
Barboursville; one son, Sherman Adkins of Huntington; one
sister, Nellie Rogers of Huntington; and one brother, Fred
Wells of Barboursville.
Graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday at the Woodmere Abbey of
Remembrance, Huntington. Contributions may be made to
Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave., Huntington, WV 25702.

Sherman William Adkins, 60, of
Huntington passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his
residence. He was born June 2, 1948 in Huntington a son of
the late Norman Adkins and Hazel R. Wells Adkins Scarberry.
He was proud to have served his country as a supply clerk in
the United States Army.
Sherman is survived by his step-father Hartley Scarberry;
his loving wife of 39 years Kum Sun "Sandy" Adkins; three
daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Byrd of Huntington, Lisa (Patrick)
O'Toole of South Elgin, IL and Mary (James) Jones of
Huntington; four sisters, Sharon Morris, Karen Smith, Sherry
Roberts and Carla Adkins; one uncle, Keith Adkins of North
Carolina and six very special grandchildren; Tessa Jones,
Kevin Byrd II, Kalin Byrd, Samia Byrd, Eddie Brinkley III
and Dylan O'Toole. |
There will be a private memorial service for family and
friends held at a later date. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home
is assisting the Adkins family. |
