Leonard is not mentioned in Charlotte's 2020 obit.
However, this is the Charlotte L Carico that signed

Military Headstone Application in 1968. On her son Phillip Edward Stanley's
1971 VA marriage license, he gives his mother's name as Charlotte
L Carico. In 1974, Charlotte's brother died in El
Paso, TX. Her name at the time was Charlotte

1975 - 1982 and John is not there. Checked WV death
records up to 1973 and he is not there. Used both
Carico and Carrico spellings.
What you do not find for John, who went by Walter, is
a Walter or John Carico/Carrico in the 1940 or 1950 Census
that matches this John Walter Carico.
Also, there is no WWII Registration for him. No Social
Security Registration or Death Index for him. I
suspect he may have died before the 1940 Census. |

Violet Lee Mayo, 98, of
Huntington, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior,
on December 12, 2019 at her daughter’s home,
surrounded by her loving family.
Violet was born on January 28, 1921 in Cabell County
to the late John Walter Carico and Nellie Taylor.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death
by her siblings, loving husband and father of her
children, Wesley Mayo; daughter, Nellie Jo Nash; and
son-in-law, Charles Stephens.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Stephens and
Millie Wigginton; son-in-law, Jude Nash; |
her grandchildren, Charles
(Linda) Stephens, Gidget Nash Gue, Todd Nash, Chris (Shana)
Stephens, Margeaux (Jeff) Klein, Kelley (Thomas) Smith, J.
D. (Ryan) Wigginton, Angie (Greg) Truster, Jennifer
(Derek) Cochran, Michelle (Phil) Levesque-Noice; sixteen
great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren whom
she loved dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the
nurses and staff of Hospice of Huntington for their
excellent care. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made
to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave, Huntington, WV
25701. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jeff
Black at 2 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Reger Funeral
Chapel. Burial will be on Monday at 2 pm at Woodmere
Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 1 pm until
service time on Sunday at the funeral home. |

Charles L. Stephens, 79, of
Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at
St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV.
He was born September 13, 1939 in Lawrence County, Ohio son
of the late Sterling Lester "Dub" and Lucille Afton Kelley
Stephens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two
sisters Effie Henson and Naomi G. Kaneff.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years,
Joan Mayo Stephens; mother-in-law Violet Mayo; sons Charles
Wesley (Linda) Stephens and Christopher Wayne (Shana)
Stephens; daughters Kelley LeAnn Smith (Thomas) and Angela
Yvonne Truster (Greg); seven grandchildren Jennifer Cochran,
Michele Levesque-Noice, Sydney and Walker Stephens, Felicia
Francis and Stephen Smith, and Leelynd Truster.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio
and owner operator of Stephens Plumbing and Heating for 40
plus years. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. Funeral service
will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at First
Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Black
officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens,
Miller, Ohio.
Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military
graveside rites. Visitation will be held 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Friday, December 28, 2018 at the church. Hall Funeral Home
and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family
with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the

Christopher Wayne Stephens, 54
of Buckhead, died on January 6, 2022. Chris was the son of
the late Charles Stephens and Joan Stephens.
He was born April 27, 1967 in Huntington, WV. He spent most
of his childhood in Proctorville, OH. He served in the U.S.
Navy for three years and was married to Shana on October 12,
1996. He loved his work as a pawn broker. He was an avid
outdoorsman. He was a conservative Republican, a life member
of the NRA and small businessman. Chris loved his church and
his family and friends.
Chris Stephens is survived by his wife, Shana and children,
Sydney and Walker. He also leaves his mother, Joan Stephens,
and siblings; Charles W. Stephens (Linda), Kelley Smith
(Thomas) and Angela Truster (Gregory).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 12,
2022 from 11AM - 1PM at Lake Point Community Church. The
funeral service will begin at 1 PM. A private interment will
be held later. |

Nellie Jo Nash of Covington, GA,
passed away December 11, 2014, at the age of 71. Mrs. Nash
loved her family and was a good wife, mother, grandmother
and friend. In her spare time, she loved listening to music,
especially Elvis, going on cruises, camping, crafts, cooking
and spending time with her family during the holidays and
Christmas. Mrs. Nash loved to laugh and have a good time.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Mayo.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, the love of her
life, Jude; daughter, Gidget Gue of Covington; son, Todd
Nash of Mooresburg, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Peale of
Oxford, GA and Jennifer Gue of Columbus, GA;
great-granddaughter, Claire Peale and her mother, Violet
Mayo of Huntington, WV; sister and brother-in-law Joan and
Charles Stephens of Proctorville, OH, Millie Wigginton of
Tampa, FL, Billie Austin of Portsmouth, VA; Aunt Katheryn
Earls of Huntington, WV; as well as several nieces and
nephews; and her very special friend, Sara Bridewell.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, December 15, 2014,
1:00 PM, at White Chapel Memorial Garden, in Barboursville,
West Virginia. The family will receive friends at Wallace
Funeral Home, in Barboursville, Monday, from 11:30 AM -
12:30 PM. |

Katheryn Addline Earl, 92, of Huntington, widow of
Herbert Leon Earl, passed away Sunday February 15,
2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM
Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Todd E.
Munson. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial
Gardens, Barboursville.
She was born December 22, 1922 in Huntington, a
daughter of the late John Walter Carico and Nellie
Taylor Stender. |
She was a retired psychiatry
nursing aide at the Huntington State Hospital and she
attended Family Life Worship Center in Ironton, Ohio.
In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded
in death by a brother Lewis Carico; niece Nellie Nash and
nephew Joe Carico.
Survivors include a sister Violet Mayo of Huntington; three
nieces Joan Stephens of Proctorville, Ohio, Millie Wigginton
of Odessa, Fla., and Bonnie Carico of Ceredo, WV; best
friend and caregiver Nancy Beasley of Huntington and her
loving church family.
Friends may call from 11:30 am until service time on
Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. Condolences may be made
