About Lloyd's middle name.....
Over 100 family trees on Ancestry have Lloyd's middle name as James.
It is Johnson. I am unable to find a single historical
document that has James as the middle name. On the other hand, I find numerous
documents that have the middle name as Johnson:
1) The birth record for Lloyd has his middle name as Johnson.
2) California Voting Registrations have Johnson as the middle
name.
3) The delayed birth certificates for both daughters, Velma and
Hattie, give Lloyd's full name as Lloyd Johnson Hicks.

Diana) - ca 1929
Of note: There is another Velma E Ballard living
in Salinas during the 1950's - 1970's. The other
Velma, nee Brown was married to James Robert Ballard in
1955. At first, I thought Velma had married
another Ballard. But after I looked into James
Robert Ballard's 2003 obituary which gives his survivor
as wife Velma E. Which could not be Velma Hicks,
because she died in 1992. |
