Helen
Louise Wiseman, 90, of Charleston joined her husband of
64 years, Claude F. Wiseman, in Heaven on Wednesday,
November 12, 2008.
She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist,
Charleston and dedicated her life to her husband,
children and grandchildren.
She was raised in Parsons and moved to Charleston, where
she met her husband. After marriage in 1952 they moved
to the Dogwood Road community in Louden Heights and
eventually donated the brick that built Holtz Elementary
School.
She is survived by her daughters, Patty Groom of
Marietta, Ohio, and Susan Wiseman Skeel of Charleston;
son, James C. Wiseman of Charleston; and grandchildren,
Michael and John Groom, Danny and Robby Skeel, Jamie
Wiseman and Katie Eades. |
Memorial service will be held at
2 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at Christ Church United Methodist,
Charleston, with Dr. Randall Flanagan officiating. Private
entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the Potter
Room in the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christ Church
United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., Charleston, WV
25301.Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of
arrangements |

Jeffrey W. Ball, 58, of Nitro passed
away Saturday January 31, 2009, at CAMC, Charleston, after a
short illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County and
a Protestant.
Jeff was a brick mason and a member of Local Brick Layer &
Allied Craft Local No. 9. He was the recipient of the 2003
National Gold Trowel Award.
He was preceded in death by brother, Neil Richard “Dickie” Ball;
and parents, Neil W. and Alice G. “Teddy” Ball.
Surviving are son, Zachery Ball at home and like-a-son, Neil R.
Ball and his wife Rita of Nitro; sisters, Sherry Ream of
Columbus, Ohio, and Sandy Hamric of Greensboro, N.C.; seven
nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to CAMC Memorial
Hospital Open Heart Recovery Unit and to George Sizemore, Lyle
Clendenin, and Gary McElhaney and many friends and coworkers for
their support and kindness during Jeff's illness. |

Capt. Enfield Hicks Funeral services
for Capt. Enfield Thomas Hicks, 46, of Newport News, Va.,
formerly of Oak Hill, will be held today at 4 p.m. at the
Ronceverte Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alvis Daniel and
the Rev. Shirley Donnelly in charge. Burial will follow in the
Ketron Cemetery near Ronceverte. The body will remain at the
Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte and will be taken
to the church one hour prior to the funeral.
He died Sunday at the Langley Air Force Base Hospital in
Virginia of an apparent heart attack. He graduated from Oak Hill
High School, attended Concord College for three years and had
served in the Air Force for 19 years. Hicks was assigned to the
22nd Air Defense Missile Squadron at Langley Air Force Base. He
was a son of the late Clarence Hicks and Bessie Whanger Hicks of
Ronceverte who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Gerald Lee Hicks of South
Charleston and Enfield Thomas Hicks Jr. of Morgantown, and two
brothers, Dr. Clarence of Herford, Tex., and Major Dr. Donald
Lee Hicks of Ft. Knox. |
