Danny Theodore Adams, 72, of
Novinger, Missouri, passed away Saturday (June 4, 2016) at
Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia,
Missouri.
Born December 26, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri, Danny was
the son of Glenn and Melba (Morrow) Adams. On June 10, 1965
in Petersburg, Virginia, Danny was united in marriage to
Helen Brake.
Danny is survived by his wife Helen of fifty-one years; one
son Robert Glenn Adams of LaPlata, MO;
one sister Letty Adams of Marshal, MO, and five
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother,
Bobby Jack Adams.
It was Danny's wish to be cremated and no services be held.
Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home
of Kirksville. |

“Bud” Elliot Riffle, 88, a resident of Elkins,
passed from this life Thursday morning, June 5, 2014
at Nella’s Incorporated in Elkins.
Bud was born Sunday, February 7, 1926 in Valley
Head, a son of the late Wirt Bruce Riffle and Nanny
Bell Ware Riffle. He was twice married, first to
Wanna Howard and then to Lucille Wilson. Both
preceded him in death.
Left to cherish Bud’s memory are five children,
Martin Riffle and wife Vera, Gary Riffle and wife
Connie, Mary Ann Zack and husband Myron, all of
Warren, OH, |
DeVaughn Rader and wife Connie
of Belpre, OH and Allen Rader and wife Melanie of Ellenton,
FL, one sister, Francis McKendrick and husband Ken of
Elkins, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great
grandchildren.
Preceding Bud in death besides his parents was two brothers,
six sisters and one stepson.
Bud was a US Army veteran. Prior to retiring in 1987, he had
been employed as a steel worker with Thomas Steel in Warren,
OH. Bud really enjoyed spending time with family and
friends. He also enjoyed tinkering in his workshop making
wind chime and lamps.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on
Monday, June 9, 2014 from 2P-4P. Bud’s request for cremation
will then be honored and inurnment will take place at a
later date in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, OH. |

Myron
Wayne Zack, 68 of Warren, Ohio, passed away on
Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Gillette Nursing Home.
He was born August 6, 1954 in Indiana, Pennsylvania,
a son of the late Elmer Wayne Zack and the late
Wilma Joy (Bennett) Zack.
He married Mary Riffle in 1971, who survives.
Mr. Zack was employed at Tasty Bakery, Mocha House
and Mr. D’s for a total of 40 years as a bakery
manager.
Myron enjoyed fishing and had an appreciation for
guns and collected many over the years. |
Myron will be missed by his wife
of 52 years, Mary Zack of Niles, Ohio; two sons, Daniel Zack
of Southington, Ohio and Michael (Ariana) Zack of Girard,
Ohio; a daughter, Linda (Chris) Ford of Girard, Ohio; one
brother, Paul (Sarah) Zack of Niles, Ohio; a sister, Denise
(Ron) Tucker of Warren, Ohio; four granddaughters, Jeannine
(Tom) Jones, Kellie Zack, Ashley (Richard) Mauro and Audrina
Zack; two grandsons, Brandon Ford and Braxton Zack and two
great- granddaughters, Jillian and Zoey Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter,
Kelly Beth Zack.
Per Myron’s wishes there will be no services or calling
hours. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in
Pineview Memorial Park.
Carl W. Hall Funeral Home have been entrusted with Myron’s
funeral arrangements. |

married the former Judy Pearl Brake who survives in
Jimtown.
Also left to cherish his memory are two children,

and Lucinda “Cindy” Makin and husband Robert of
Pasadena, MD, two grandchildren, |

Del had been employed for thirty years as a manager at
Lauer’s Super Thrift. He enjoyed many outdoor activities
including, gardening, riding four wheelers and hunting
squirrels for Judy to cook. Del was a great story teller and
loved spending time with his family and going out to eat. He
was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed reading, studying
the Bible and having his great grandchildren call and read
the Bible to him and pray for him nightly when he was sick.
He was Pentecostal by faith, and he built Full Bible Church
in Elkins while living in Baltimore and then returned to
serve as Pastor from 2003 to the present.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home
Saturday from 2P-3P, the funeral hour. Rev. Sharon Brown
will officiate. Del’s request for cremation will then be
honored. |

Dorothy Elizabeth Vanpelt, age
75 years, a resident of Thorne Ave., Elkins, passed away
Thursday, January 5, 2006 in the Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 29, 1930 at Huttonsville, a daughter
of the late Bruce and Nanny Pudder
[stet should be Ware] Riffle.
She was married for 53 years to James H. Vanpelt who
survives in Elkins. Three sons, Robert Elliott Simmons of
Elkins, James Bruce Vanpelt and wife Debra of Elkins and
David Roy Vanpelt and wife Pamela of Beverly, two daughters,
Rosemary Summerfield and husband David and Martha Ann
Kirkpatrick and husband Pete all of Elkins, one brother,
Martin E. Riffle, Mill Creek, one sister, Francis Hedrick of
Elkins, four grandchildren, Jerry Joe Ryder, Jessica Dawn
Kirkpatrick, Angela Dawn Vanpelt and Julia Faith Vanpelt and
one great grandson, Ashton Clemens also survive.
Mrs. Vanpelt was employed as a House Keeper for many years.
She also loved caring for children.
Private funeral services were held at the Tomblyn Funeral
Home in Elkins and interment followed in the American
Legion's Little Arlington Cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be made to Mt. Hospice, 16 Crim Ave., Belington 26250 in
memory of Mrs. Vanpelt. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins
is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth
Vanpelt. Condolences may be expressed to the family at

passed from this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at
WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Center.
Bob was born Saturday, September 25, 1948, in
Randolph County, a son of the late Robert Junior
Simmons and Dorothy Riffle Simmons.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory are three children,
Mark Simmons and wife, Barbara, of Rock Cave, Danny
Simmons of Elkins, and Roberta McSpadden and

grandchildren, Damen, Tyler, Emily, and Hunter. |
Bob attended the schools of
Randolph County and had operated heavy equipment for many
various local businesses including Grimes Logging and Polino
Contracting. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Mark
Elliott Simmons, 54, a resident of Eden, passed from
this life Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, in the Emergency
Department at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He had been in his usual health and death was
unexpected.
Mark was born Thursday, Sept. 25, 1969, in Elkins, a
son of the late Robert Elliott Simmons and Delores
Weese Simmons, who survives.
On Oct. 12, 2012, in Kumbrabow State Forest, he
married the former Barbara Shreve, who survives at
home. |
Also left to cherish his memory
are three children, Tyler Simmons and girlfriend, Nicole,
Joshua Shroud and wife, Stacey, and Ashlea Chapman; five
grandchildren, Zayne and Alizaya McCauley, Bailey Daniels,
Zaylon Freeman and Harlee Everley, and a granddaughter on
the way, Linleigh Simmons; two siblings, Danny Simmons and
Loranda and Roberta McSpadden; two nephews, Damen Simmons
and wife, Meagan, and Hunter McSpadden; and one niece, Emily
Simmons.
Mark attended the schools of Randolph County and had been
employed as a timber cutter at Starkey’s Logging.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and processing deer meat for his
family and others. He took pride in his work; and adhered to
high personal standards no matter whether he was processing
for himself or someone else. Mark loved spending time with
his family, and especially loved to cook for them. He adored
his grandchildren and was so excited for Linleigh’s arrival
in March.
A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mark’s
request for cremation will then be honored.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been
entrusted with the arrangements for Mark Elliott Simmons.

Eugene “Gene” Hedrick, 53, a former resident of
Elkins, and more recently a resident of Weaver Road
Community passed from this life early Saturday
morning, June 23, 2012 at his home. He was in
his usual health and death was sudden and
unexpected.
Gene was born Wednesday, April 8, 1959 at Elkins, a
son of Kenneth P. Hedrick and Lula F. Riffle Hedrick
who survive at Elkins. Others left to cherish Gene's
memory include three sisters, Peggy Phillips and
husband, Roger, Delores Price and husband, Everett,
and Diania Mishoe, all of Elkins; |
two brothers, Roy Hedrick and
wife, Amiee of Norton and Bobby Hedrick and wife, Jenny, of
Elkins, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Gene in death were his paternal grandparents,
Vernon and Gertie Hedrick and his maternal grandparents,
Bruce and Nannie Riffle.
Gene attended the schools of Randolph County and had not
worked due to a disability. He always liked to help people
and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting and watching
racing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Gene’s

Bobby Lynn Hedrick, 60, a
resident of Elkins, passed from this life Tuesday, Aug. 23,
2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The son of Kenneth Patrick Hedrick and Lula Frances Riffle,
Bobby was born Thursday, Oct. 4, 1961, in Elkins.
Bobby’s request for cremation was honored.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been
