Blake, Mrs. Sarah
Frances-Service will be conduced at 2 p.m. Thursday in the
Independence Church at Sandyville, Jackson County, by the
Rev. Eugene Conger and burial will be in the Independence
Cemetery.
Mrs. Blake of Sandyville, died Monday in the St. Joseph's
Hospital at Parkersburg after a short illness. She was a
member of the Odaville Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, J. E.; seven sons, Dale and Paul
R. both of Sandyville, Curtis G. of Parkersburg, Bruce B. of
Berkeley Springs, Delmer E. of Charleston, Wayne R. of
Akron, Ohio and Clair W. of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters,
Mrs. H. F. McGraw of Huntington, and Mrs. Cora Digman of
Alliance, Ohio; a brother, E. R. Duke of Sandyville; three
sisters, Mrs. Anna Nibur of Wheeling, Mrs. Lucy Gibbons of
Nelsonville, Ohio, and Mrs. Eleanor Little of Greensburg,
Ohio; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The body will be taken from Vail Funeral Home at Ripley to
the church an hour before the service. |

Monday, April 10, 1995. She had lived in Akron 35 years.
She leaves her beloved husband and companion, Ronald, after
29 years of marriage; daughters, Theresa (Rickey) Dorton and
Linda (Dan) McCormick; grandson, Adam Dorton; very special
friends, Mel and Betty, Etta and Ricardo, and many other
friends. Cremation has taken place.

Has
been received by Jesus Christ after a short illness.

An army vet and a cartoonist for the Suburbanite for
many years, he retired from Goodyear aerospace and
was a very gifted artist. He wrote and illustrated
several books, including "the pussy willow tree"
where he wrote about being homeless during the
depression.
Dad was an avid hunter and angler and had many
adventures with his friend of 60 years, Leroy Deel.
More than anything else, he was a member of
Cornerstone church and Christian who loved God and
lived to serve the lord his entire life.

People were always telling dad
how he changed their life through the gospel of Jesus
Christ, and he loved listening to their stories of their
renewed spirit.
Ron had 2 daughters, Terri (Anthony) Covarrubia and Linda
(Al) Drassen
Grandchildren Adam, Jaqueline and Alexandria (Alex)
(KyraJean and Seth)
Great grandchildren Audrey and Aaliyah
And Stepsons Dana, Greg & Everett
(Special friends Brenda & Loretta)
Proceeded in death by his loving wife of 30 years Patricia

Alexandria Alex Marie Dorton
passed away April 12, 2021. She was born January 21, 1998 in
Akron, Ohio and moved to San Antonio Texas for ten years,
before coming back to Akron in 2018 with her mother, Theresa
(Terri) Covarrubia and her amazing dad, Anthony Covarrubia.
Pat Rush and Suzana Higgins preceded her in death.
Her beautiful daughters, Aaliyah and Audrianna will forever
ache for her. Alex also leaves behind her father, Ricky
Dorton; brothers, Adam Dorton, and Seth Covarrubia; sisters,
Jaqueline Dorton and KyraJean Covarrubia; grandparents, Ron
Rush and Patsy Dorton; and her best friend, Kimberly Ashley
Diaz

Danny was born October 17, 1941 in Huntington, WV. a
son of the late Lonnie and Pauline Haynie Webb. He
was the proud owner of the Iron Valley Landfill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his beloved wife Jane McGrew Webb; brother Keith
Webb and son-in-law Howie Damron.
Danny is survived by two children Doshia Jane Webb
and Eugenia Lambert (Frank); |
grandchildren Jacey Leslie
(Matt), Tayte Damron, Drew Damron (Emily), Wes Damron and
Zach Damron; honorary grandchild Darrell Reeves; the lights
of his life, great-grandchildren Slayte Leslie, Lynk Leslie,
Creed Damron, Daxton Damron, Lilah Damron, Braylen Leslie and
Bryce Leslie; sister Rita Maynard and brother and
sister-in-law Randy Webb (Linda).
There will be no
visitation and no procession to the cemetery on Monday.

Thursday, October 23, 2025 at St. Mary's Medical
Center, Huntington.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:30
pm Tuesday, October 28, 2025 by Pastor Corey Adkins
at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Burial will
follow.
He was born October 20, 1941 in Huntington, WV, a
son of the late Cecil and Iva Adkins Enix. Terry was
a proud veteran of the US Army and a retired furnace
worker with INCO.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in
death by a son, Alex Enix; grandson Andrew Jeffers
and brother Scott Enix. |
Survivors include his wife of 64
years, Janet Belle McGrew Enix; son Anthony Enix (Kim);
daughter Terri Rusk (Donald); grandchildren Kali Harrison
(Zach), Tiffiny Perry, Zak Enix (Megan); great grandchildren
Bella Perry, Xavier Enix and Griffey Harrison and a sister
Janeth Enix.

He was born September 10, 1993 in Huntington, WV, a
son of Frank David Jeffers and Terri Enix Rusk.
Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal

Sharon Rusk; uncle Alex Enix and aunt Judy Bates.
Additional survivors include his step father Donald Rusk;
paternal grandmother Phyllis Jeffers; maternal grandparents

uncles Ervin and Connie Walters, Rick and Joyce Bates,
Darrell Bates and Anthony and Kim Enix.
Andrew was an organ donor and the family would like to thank
the ER staff and staff of the Critical Care Unit of Cabell

Raymond Leroy Fox, 55, of North Green Street, died Sunday,
Feb. 25, 2001, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in
Berkeley Springs.
Born March 12, 1945, in Hancock, he was the son of Oscar T.
Fox of Berkeley Springs and the late Leona DeShong Fox. He
was a 1966 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. He was
a group leader with U.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs. He was
a Protestant. He was a member of Teamsters Local 992 and was
a business agent from 1976 to 1980. He was a member of
Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Co., and Loyal Order of the
Moose Lodge 1483, Berkeley Springs.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Linda
D. Blake Fox, whom he married June 3, 1995; one daughter,
Celena Ann Fox Swain of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one stepson,
Robert Christopher
Blake Sr.; one stepgrandson and two stepgranddaughters.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home,
141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Henry Fisher will
officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery,
7902 Timber Ridge Road, Needmore, Pa.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7
to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which
will be open today from 2 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m..

SANDYVILLE - Dale L. Blake, 66,
of Sandyville died Sept. 22, 1997, at home after a short
illness.
He was retired from Ravenswood Aluminum Corp. and a veteran
of the Korean War.
Surviving: wife, Addie Waybright Blake; sons, David Marsh
Smith of Fort Collins, Colo., Daniel Mark Smith of
Chesapeake, Va., Rodney Smith of Anchorage, Alaska;
daughters, Freda Bradley of Flatwoods, Ky., Cathy Rowlett of
Sandyville, Sandy Casto of Clendenin; brother, Paul Blake of
Sandyville; 15 grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Vail Funeral Home,
Ripley, with the Rev. Mark Siers officiating. Burial will be
in Jackson County Memorial Gardens, Cottageville. Friends
may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. |

Nancy Elizabeth Hersman Blake,
was born in Jackson County, W.Va. on August 29, 1933. She
passed after a long illness on January 26, 2020 at the age
of 86 at her home in Orlando, Fl.
She was preceded by her husband, Curtis G. Blake in 1997,
her parents Guy Hersman and Miriam Thomas Hersman, and her
siblings, Guy Landon Hersman, Rosemary Hersman Hudson
Archer, Gail T. Hersman, Joann Hersman Lott, W.C. “Bill”
Hersman, and Ellen Hersman Zirkle Whiting.
She is survived by her children, Curtis A Blake, Michael D
Blake, Vicky S. Blake, and her grandchildren Jennifer L
Blake-Castro, Timothy R. Blake.
Nancy was a retired registered nurse of 45 years. She was
graduated from Ripley High School in 1951 and St Joseph’s
School of Nursing in 1954. She did many different types of
nursing and loved them all. She was a strong, independent,
loving women who always had a way of being able to listen to
anyone. She will be missed by all that knew her. |

Mary B.
Blake, 64, of Orlando, Florida passed away on
December 9, 2013 at her home.
Mary was born January 15, 1949 in Thomasville,
Georgia to the late William "Bill" and Katherine
"Kit" Bonfield.
Mary was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years,
spending time both at Winter Park Memorial Hospital
and Orlando Regional Medical Center. She was married
to her husband, Curt Blake, for 29 years. Mary and
Curt raised 2 wonderful children together, Jennifer
and Timothy. |
Mary enjoyed baking and was
known for baking mass amounts of delicious breads, cookies,
and other treats at Christmas time. She loved Christmas and
created her own Christmas Ornaments for the season. Mary
also collected angels. She had a wonderful sense of humor
and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved
her and remembered by all the lives she touched with her
own.
Mary was preceded in her passing by her parent.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis A. Blake of Orlando,
FL; Daughter Jennifer Blake of Orlando, FL; Son Timothy
Blake of Orlando, FL; Sisters Jean Goodwin of Bradenton, FL
and Patricia Salappa of Cairo, GA; and her best friend and
close neighbor, Debbie Mullins of Orlando, FL.
A Visitation for Mary will take place on Friday, December
13, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Orlando, FL
from 12:00-12:45pm.
Funeral Mass will take place at 1:00pm at Good Shepherd.

Curtis
Allen Blake, 68, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on
October 25, 2025.
He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on January
13, 1957.
Curtis graduated from Colonial High School and
received an associates degree from Valencia
Community College.
He married Mary Blake in 1984.
Curtis had a career in electrical repair for Barr's
Equipment and had a passion for building computers,
video games, science fiction, and helping others.
|
He enjoyed woodworking, and
shared his love of reading fantasy novels with both of his
children. Curtis was always willing to lend a helping hand
to friends and neighbors who needed it, whether giving his
time to assist in yard work or emotional support. Rarely a
serious man, Curtis had a joke or sarcastic quip prepared
for every occasion.
He is survived by his children: Jennifer DeCrotie and
Timothy Blake and his siblings, Michael Blake and Vicky
Blake.
Curtis we preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to

Celebration of Curtis's life will be held on Tuesday,
November 4 starting at 10am at Woodlawn Memorial Park and

SANDYVILLE – Paul Brooks Blake, 71 of Sandyville
passed away at his home on December 20, 2010
following a long illness.
Paul was born February 15, 1939 at Sandyville a son
of the lat James Everett and Sarah Frances Duke
Blake. He was a 1958 graduate of Gilmore High School
and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 132.
He was owner and operator of Blake Construction and
along with his wife, Eleanor, owned the Blake’s
Market. He is the last surviving member of his
family that included ten children. He was known as a
loving husband, father and neighbor.
His wife of 51 years Eleanor Puckett Blake; his
daughters Lucinda Blake of Orlando, Fl and Sarah
Blake of Sandyville and a host of friends survive
him. |
Funeral Service will be
Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 8:00 pm at the Waybright
Funeral Home, Ripley with John Gunther officiating. Friends
may call from 6:00 pm until the time of the service on
Wednesday. A reception will follow the service at the
Parsons-Vail Family Center located inside the funeral home.
At his request his body will be cremated and the cremains
will be buried at the Morgan Cemetery at a later date this
coming spring. |
