Without Hazel's death
certificate (not available until 2026 or 2027), it
is difficult to know who her parents were, since
this information is not on her marriage license.
However, the Arnold Hill Cemetery Records notes that
Hazel I Isner, who is buried with Irvin Clay Isner,
is in fact, the daughter of Lee Collett and Lilly
Bell Bright.

Where the last name of Gum came from when she
married is unknown. I could find no marriage
record for a Hazel Collett marrying a Gum. The other
odd thing about Hazel's burial record is the date of
birth of 1905. Lee and Lilly did not marry
until 1907. Did they have Hazel out of
wedlock? Or was Hazel actually born in 1905
and her father is someone with the last name of Gum?
Lee Collett then adopted Hazel when he marries Lilly
Bell Bright?

1908 under the last names of Bright, Gum, or Collett

Ethel M. Ware, age 83, of
Dillsburg, PA, formerly of Edgewood, MD, passed away
peacefully on May 14, 2018 at her home.
Born in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter of the late Cleo
and Mary (Kelly) Collett and was the wife of the late Lamar
"Lou" M. Ware Jr. She graduated from Elkins High School and
attended Davis and Elkins College where she was crowned
"Sweetheart of Beta Sigma Phi", a title of which she was
proud of for a lifetime. She enjoyed working as a sales
associate in the furniture department at JC Penny in White
Marsh for many years.
Mrs. Ware is survived by children, Barbara Brownheim (Scott)
of Denver, NC, Rob Mann (Nadine) of Dillsburg, PA, Sharon
Renee Johnson (Daniel) of Pittsburgh, PA and Len Ware (Lyn)
of Glen Bernie; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in
death by her brother, Donald Collett. |

Dr.
Patricia (Tricia) Lynn Hart, 62, of Powder Springs,
Georgia died on April 1, 2020 at Wellstar
Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain after a courageous
five-year battle with breast cancer.
Tricia was born on April 8, 1957 at Wellstar
Kennestone Hospital to the late Richard E. Daetwyler
and Edith Daetwyler of Mineral Bluff, Georgia.
After graduating from Wheeler High School, Tricia
attended Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing
where she received a nursing diploma in 1978.

She later attended Kennesaw
State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing in 1996. She continued her nursing education at
Georgia State University where she obtained her Master of
Science in Nursing in 2001 and Doctor of Philosophy in
nursing in 2006.
Tricia began her career as a critical care nurse at Wellstar
Kennestone Hospital in 1978. During her 28-year tenure she
served in various clinical and leadership roles. She then
followed her passion for nursing education and research and
joined the faculty at the Wellstar School of Nursing at
Kennesaw State University. She taught in the undergraduate
and graduate nursing programs in addition to conducting
nursing research and mentoring graduate students.
Throughout her nursing career Tricia received numerous
awards and recognitions including March of Dimes Nurse of
the Year. She has presented nationally and internationally,
published numerous evidence-based practice articles and
conducted research to promote the advancement of nursing.
Her gift was serving others, and this was exemplified
through mentoring and sharing the wisdom and experience that
she gained through her nursing career and passion for
nursing research. Her legacy will impact generations to
come.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years,
Derek Carlton Hart of Powder Springs, Georgia; daughter and
son-in-law, Amy Leigh and Scott Wuellner of Powder Springs,
Georgia; mother, Edith Daetwyler of Mineral Bluff, Georgia;
sister, Sonya Lamanac (Ronnie) of McCaysville, Georgia;
brother, Mike Daetwyler (Nancy King) of Bradenton, Florida;
mother-in-law, Scenus Hart of Smyrna, Georgia;
brother-in-law, Kevin Hart of Smyrna, Georgia; nephews,
Shane Daetwyler (Kelli) of Acworth, Georgia, Chris Daetwyler
(Christy) of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Andrew Lamanac of
McCaysville, Georgia; and great nieces and nephews Cayden,
Caleb, Madison and Mason, and many other relatives and
friends.
The family will hold a private ceremony in light of
coronavirus (Covid-19). A Celebration of Life will take
place at a later date.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be
made in her honor to the Dr. Patricia Lynn Hart Nursing
Education Scholarship through the Wellstar Foundation at

Mrs. Eloise Evelyn
Burge, age 81, of Barnesville, passed away February
8, 2021, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.
She was born to the late Otto Collett and Naomi
Phares Collett in Elkins, West Virginia on August 3,
1939. Eloise was a member of Rock Springs Church in
Milner and Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in
Barnesville.
As the wife of a Methodist minister, Eloise served
the church in many roles over the years including
pianist, secretary, choir member, and soloist. |
Lovingly known as “Mimi” by her
grandchildren, Eloise loved spending time with her family
and was passionate about reading, studying, and living God’s
Word. Eloise will be remembered for her welcoming warmth;
she never met a stranger. Her door was always open with a
seat at her table and a large glass of sweet tea. Eloise
loved all flowers, whether it was a picture, fresh cut, or
growing in her yard. She had a smile that would light up a
room and will be missed by all who loved her. Though she has
now taken her place in the heavenly choir, her family will
carry forward her legacy of faith and love in their hearts
until they meet again.
In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by
her sister, Helen Collett, brother, David Collett and her
brother-in-law, Richard Daetwyler.
She is survived by her husband Rev. Lawrence Burge of 59
years of marriage, four (4) sons and their wives, Ed Burge,
Barnesville, GA, Greg & Gay Ann Burge, Carrollton, GA, Steve
& Debbie Burge, Griffin, GA, and Joe & Tammy Burge,
Dawsonville, GA; sisters and a brother-in-law: Edie
Daetwyler, Blue Ridge, GA, Debbie & Ronald Carder,
Chesapeake, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law: Neal & Darlene
Collett, Elkins WVA, Frank & Carol Collett, Elkins, WVA,
Gloria Ware Collett, WVA; 18 plus grandchildren, a multitude
of great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, February 20, 2021,
1:00-2:00 p.m., at the Moody Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon,
GA.
A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the
chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with, Rev. Richard Winn,
Pastor Mike Burge and Chaplain Jennifer James officiating. |

David Lee Collett, age
75 years, a resident of Route 2 Elkins, passed away
Monday morning, October 3, 2016 at his home
surrounded by his family.
He was born September 1, 1941 in Elkins a son of the
late Otto David Collett and the late Naomi Phares
Collett. On June 10, 1966 in Elkins, he was married
at the Otterbein United Methodist Church to Gloria
Elaine Ware Collett who survives on the family farm.
Also surviving are one son,
David Alan Collett and wife Patricia of Elkins; one
daughter, Angela Lea Broschart and husband Scott of Elkins.

Two brothers, Franklin D. Collett and Neal I. Collett both
of Elkins; three sisters, Edith I. Daetwyler, Mineral Bluff,
GA, Eloise E. Burge, Barnesville, GA and Deborah K. Carder
of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren, Jonathan Harman
and wife Jordan, Alayna, Cayla, Jeyna and Sydney Collett and
Megan Broschart and three great grandchildren, Maci, Ronan
and Gabriella Harman also survive.
Also preceding him in death was one sister, Helen L.
Collett.
Dave attended the schools of Randolph County and was a
Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as a
welder/ maintenance at local limestone quarries and was
employed by the Huttonsville Correctional Center at the time
of his retirement. He was a member of the 136th West
Virginia Division of Corrections Academy. He was a farmer
for many years following retirement and a member of the
Elkins Degree of Honor Lodge. His journey in life, from
beginning to end, defined the man he truly was. He lived in
the present moment and his legacy was written everyday by
the things he did for his family, friends and others.
Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm Sunday,
October 9, 2016 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A
funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday from the
funeral home chapel with Reverend Norman Butler and Reverend
Lawrence Burge officiating. Interment will follow in the
Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Davis Health Systems Davis
House, PO Box 1188, Elkins, WV 26241 or to Hospice Care
Corporation, 169 Diamond Street, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory
of Mr. Collett. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in
charge of the arrangements for David Lee Collett.
