ELKINS -- Sharon Lynn Wilson
Godwin, age 66 years, a resident of Jimtown, West Virginia,
departed this life at 11:04 p.m. Saturday, November 17,
2001, at the Davis Memorial Hospital Emergency Department.
She had been in declining health for the past month.
She was born Tuesday, July 2, 1935, at Little Rock,
Arkansas, a daughter of the late Chester Wilson and Louise
Burt Wilson. On September 4, 1953, at Gladewater, Texas, she
was married to the Reverend Lowell Clark Godwin, who
preceded her in death May 12, 1997. Surviving are five sons,
Lowell Lee Godwin, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lynn Godwin
and wife Penny, Ripley, Layne Godwin and wife, Arvilla,
Elkins, Lorren Godwin and wife Mary, Stonewood, Lawrence
Godwin and wife Julie, Lake Lynn, Pennsylvania; one
daughter, L'Louise Fox and husband Mark, Elkins; one sister,
Mary Louise Bulman and husband the Reverend Herman Bulman,
Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Kelly,
Justin, Marc, Christopher and Adrianna Godwin, Alex and
Olivia Fox and one step granddaughter, Emily Paitsel.
She was a graduate of Judson High School at Longview, Texas,
was the wife of the founder of the World of Pentecost Church
of Elkins and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United
Pentecostal Church.
Friends will be received at the Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home
from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Final rites will be conducted at the
funeral home chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Reverend Justin
Argabright and the Reverend Herman Bulman will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens
at Gilman, West Virginia.
The Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements for Sharon Lynn Wilson Godwin. |

Rev.
Wye Lorren Godwin, 55, of Stonewood, WV, passed away
on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Charleston Area
Medical Center in Charleston, WV. He was born on
June 1, 1963 in Longview, TX, a son of the late
Lowell C. and Sharon Lynn (Wilson) Godwin. Mr.
Godwin is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years,
Mary Jane (Fox) Godwin, whom he married March 26,
1994.
In addition to his wife Lorren is survived by one
sister, L’Louise Fox and husband Mark; four
brothers: Lowell L. Godwin and wife Stasia, Lynn
Godwin and wife Penny, Layne Godwin and wife Arvilla,
and Lawrence Godwin and wife Julie; |
brother and sister in law, Jim
and Martha Messenger; beloved nephews and nieces: Alex and
Olivia Fox; James David Messenger and Sarah Gayda; Nicholas
and Christopher Hedgepeth, and Kristina Godwin; Heather
Walker, Jonathan Godwin, and Emily Paitsel; Kelly, Justin,
Marc and Chris Godwin; and Adrianna and Owen Godwin and
several great nieces and nephews; aunt Mary Louise Bulman
and Uncle David Godwin. Also left behind were special
friends Adam and Brandy Benedum and their children: Tyler,
Casey, Haley, Sarah and Ethan Benedum.
Rev. Godwin was a graduate of Elkins High School. He worked
at Chenoweth Ford in Clarksburg until his illness. His life
revolved around God, family, and his church, Christian
Apostolic Church in Arlington, with beloved Pastor Doug
Joseph and his wife Ladonna, and CAC church family. He had a
special burden for youth and missions. Rev. Godwin will be
remembered for his sense of humor and sarcastic wit. He will
also be remembered for his strong Christian faith. When
faced with his illness and possible death, he stated “either
way I win.” Rev. Godwin humbly held a ministerial license
with the United Pentecostal Church International and
previously has served as both Pastor and Youth Pastor.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver
Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Thursday,
June 14, 2018 from 3 until 8pm. Funeral services will be
conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 12
Noon with Pastor Doug Joseph presiding. Interment will
follow at Coplin Cemetery. Online condolences,

SCHERRIE RAE BUSSINEAU Age 74,
of Sterling, VA. On April 26, 2010 at Loudoun Hospital
center.
Scherrie retired after many years from the National Wildlife
Federation. She is predeceased by her husband Gerald J.
Bussineau, and by one grandchild.
Survivors include four children, Eugene J. Bussineau of
Leesburg, VA, and Scott M. (Tamara) Bussineau of Sterling
,VA, Denise (Marty) Walsh of Metler, GA and Paulette Miller
of Killen, TX; one sister, Robin P. Gates of Arlington, VA.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Community Lutheran
Church, 21014 Whit field Place, Sterling, VA on Saturday,
May 1, 2010 from 3 to 4 p.m., where the memorial service
will begin at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to
Community Lutheran Church, 21014 Whitfield Place, Sterling,
VA. Arrangements by Adams-Green Funeral Home.

Mr. Troy Wye Pritt, age 93
years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Tuesday, December
21, 2010 in the Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 25, 1916 in Elkins, a son of the late
Wye Plummer Pritt and the late Capitola Ethel Shreve Pritt.
On August 15, 1937, he married Glenoka Mae Stalnaker who
preceded him in death April 15, 2000.
Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Mrs.
Beatrice Mabel Godwin, Mrs. Myrtle Faye Hutzel, Mrs. Ethel
Alene Clapper and three brothers, Donald Hall Pritt, Tippy
and Oscar Pritt, both of whom died in infancy. |
Surviving are four children, Rev. Dr. Troy Pritt and wife
Lorraine, Warren, Ark, Beverly Ann Baker and husband
Raymond, Baltimore, Md., Marshall Lee Pritt and wife
Dennetta, Fort Richey, FL and Donna Delania Cummins and
husband Steve, Chappell Hill, TX. Fourteen grandchildren,
twenty four great grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Pritt attended Elkins High School. He was a member of
the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Elkins Lodge No. 108
AF & AM, Mystic Order of the Shrine, IOOF Lodge No 116 and
the Knights of Pythias. He served his apprenticeship as a
Machinist for the Western Maryland Railroad beginning
January 1, 1940. Following his apprenticeship, he worked as
a machinist for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad repairing
steam locomotives. In 1956, he began work for Western
Electric Corporation in Baltimore, Md. and advanced to the
trade of tool and die maker. He was transferred by them to
Shreveport, La. in February 1966 and before retiring in
February 1981.
Troy and Glenoka then returned to Elkins and had a home
built on Scott Ford Road. Since retiring and returning to
Elkins, Mr. Pritt has been active with his own business,
Mountain Woodcrafter.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, December
27, 2010 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral
service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 28th from
the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Troy Pritt
officiating. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery
in Elkins. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge
of the arrangements for Troy Wye Pritt. Condolences may be

Rev. Dr. Troy Lynn Pritt of
Warren, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening,
July 8th at 10:10 PM, at St. Vincents Hospital in Little
Rock, AR.
Pritt was born April 20, 1938 in Elkins, W.Va. to Troy Wye
Pritt and Glenoka Mae Stalnaker Pritt.
Dr. Pritt had served the pulpit at Dermott Presbyterian
Church for a number of years. Prior to that from 1987-2000,
he served the Edwards-Rogers Larger Parish in Bradley County
which were a group of Presbyterian Churches in Banks,
Hermitage, and Johnsville, Arkansas in Bradley County. Prior
to that he had served in the pulpit in Covington, Tennessee,
Fairlea, West Virginia, Parsons, West Virginia, and
Winfield, West Virginia. Dr. Pritt was a graduate of the
University of Maryland, Reformed Episcopal Seminary in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Erskine College in Due West,
South Carolina.
He served honorably for twenty three years, beginning with
the U.S. Marine Corps, then briefly in the U.S. Air Force,
and finally the most of his service in the U.S. Army. He was
honorably discharged from all branches and served as a
Russian translator during the height of the Cold War,
serving in Alaska, the United Kingdom, and in West Berlin.
After retiring fulltime from the ministry, Pritt served
seven years in the Arkansas Public School System as a
fulltime substitute teacher in both Hermitage and Warren
Public Schools in Bradley County. He went onto write a
number of award winning novels, the first was a biography of
his father, but the others were fictional novels that still
can be found online through Amazon.com and other online
services.
Pritt is survived by his wife of sixty years, Lorraine
Catherine Barrows Pritt also of Warren, Arkansas originally
of Baltimore, Maryland, as well as two sisters, Beverly
Baker and her husband Raymond Baker of Baltimore, Maryland,
Donna Cummins and her husband Steve Cummins of Chappell
Hill, Texas and a brother, Marshall Pritt and his wife
Danetta Pritt of New Port Richey, Florida and one surviving
sister in law, Ruth B. Godey of Timonium, Maryland. They
also are survived by son Paul T. Pritt and his wife Sandra
M. Pritt of Memphis, Tennessee, son Mark D. Pritt and his
wife Christine P. Pritt of Walkersville, MD., son David B.
Pritt and wife Kim L. Pritt of Watertown, New York, and son
Andrew C. Pritt of North Little Rock, Arkansas. He also is
survived by twelve grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on
the way.
Funeral service was 2:00PM Tuesday, July 17th at Hickory
Springs ARP Church with Rev. Philip Farris officiating.
Burial with Military honors followed in Hickory Springs
Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Paul Pritt, Mark Pritt,
David Pritt, Andrew Pritt, Evan Tanner, and Timothy Kessler.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Davis, Dr. Kerry Pennington,
Dr. Joe H. Wharton, Stephen Smith, Buddy McCaskill, Chris

Donald R. “Donnie”
Pritt, age 73 years, a resident of Elkins, passed
away Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Emergency
Department of Davis Medical Center. He had been in
his usual health and his death was unexpected.
He was born September 14, 1947 in Elkins, a son of
the late Donald H. and Delania “Pee Wee” Gibson
Pritt. On May 11, 2019 at Landmark Baptist Church in
Elkins, he was married to Linda Louise Romine who
survives.
Also surviving is one brother, Edward Pritt and wife
Patricia of Elkins, sister-in-law, Judy Kittle and
husband Thomas Bradley Kittle of Elkins and
brother-in-law, Thomas P. Romine and wife Brenda of
Elkins. |
Also one step-niece, Leslie
Bloomquist and husband Glen and their two children, of
Minneapolis, Minnesota and one step-nephew, Michael
Riggleman and wife Teresa and their two children of Mill
Creek.
Donnie was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class
of 1966 and a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Military Management from the University of
Charleston. He was employed by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture Forest Service as a maintenance worker.
Following his retirement from the Forest Service, Donnie
continued his service with the West Virginia National Guard
where he served as Training NCO, Staff Sergeant and
Readiness NCO, Sergeant First Class, Recruiting and
Retention Non-Commissioned Officer, Sergeant First Class,
Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Master Sergeant.
Donnie served overseas in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. He
was awarded the bronze star, Southwest Asia and Kuwait
Liberation Awards. He was a Cannon Fire Direction Chief for
many years. In Desert Storm he served as an Ammunition Crew
Chief. He had served forty two years in the West Virginia
Army National Guard at the time of his retirement receiving
numerous ribbons. He was a National Guard Recruiter for many
years receiving many awards for his excellent recruiting.
Donnie assisted during the Flood of 1985, a truckers strike
in the early 1970s, a Life Flight Crash search near the
Izaak Walton League Club house and a plane crash near
Blackwater Falls.
After his retirement from the National Guard, he was
employed for eight years as manager of Interstate Transfer
/Reserve Component Transition. Donnie was a member of Elkins
Lodge No. 108 AF & AM.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm
Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Randolph County Armed Forces
Reserve Center (New Armory on Corridor H) near Elkins.
Donnie will then be moved to the Fraternal Cemetery near
Belington where a graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm
with Dr. Ken Shiflet officiating. Military honors will be
accorded at the gravesite by members of the West Virginia
National Guard Honor Guard Program. Masks and social
distancing will be required for everyone attending the
service for Mr. Pritt. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is
in charge of the arrangements for Donald R. “Donnie” Pritt.
