  1910 - 1920 - Census - Living with parents
  1920 - 1925 - In the 1920 Census Lilia is living at home with parents, single.  If she did give birth to Frank Jesse Workman.  She would have been pregnant when this census sheet was recorded in Jan 6 and 7, 1920.

If she did give birth to Frank in 1920, who was the father?  Was it Bragg? or someone else.
OR......was Frank a son of Dewey Workman from another woman he was married to before he met Lilia. 
On the marriage record for Frank, he does list his mother as Lilia VanPelt. Does this mean that Lilia then is actually his birth mother and perhaps Dewey is his adopted father?  Or was Lilia his adoptive mother?

Then in 1925, Lilia gives birth to Walter T Bragg in Randolph Co., WV.  In the 1930 and 1940 Census, Walter has the last name of Workman. In all other historical documents, he gives his last name as Bragg.  Father is named as William Bragg on his SS Record.  So this would mean that Dewey Workman was Walter's step-father.  Also, on Lilia's Delayed Birth Certificate she offers Walter's birth certificate as proof of her age.  This document would not have been accepted unless she was the actual birth mother of Walter recorded on his birth certificate.

In 1927 Lilia marries Dewey Workman.  Both children being born before this marriage.

On Lilia's Delayed Birth Certificate, she does sign her name with both the last name of Bragg and Workman. So the last name of Bragg as a possible first husband is valid.  I am unable to find a marriage record in WV for Lilia and a William Bragg. Another state?  Or no marriage at all?

  About Walter's middle name.  Some family trees on ancestry have Walter's middle name as Thomas or Thurman.  I have found no historical documents that have Walter's full middle name.  These sources do not even have Lilia's middle name correct, even when there is a free readily available document on the internet. ( Lilia's delayed birth certificate ).

  1928 - Which Harry Greathouse did Ruby marry?  The clue is at the very top of the marriage license where it says father D F Greathouse approved of marriage in writing for his son Harry.  When looking at Census records in 1920 Marion Co., WV, there is a David Franklin Greathouse living in Paw Paw, Marion Co., WV with a son Hary R.  As for the birth year for Harry, he was born in 1911, not 1909.  If he had been born in 1909, he would have appeared in the 1910 Census with his parents.  He does not.

Murl Vincent VanPelt, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born May 4, 1923, in Fairmont, a son of the late Taylor VanPelt and Nancy Pritt VanPelt.

On July 19, 1974 [stet] (should be 1947), he married the former Katherine Elizabeth Frost, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Greg VanPelt of Weston and Murl VanPelt of San Diego, CA., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Co. with 36 years of service, and was a member of the first Baptist Church in Buckhannon.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army, and a member of the American Legion in Buckhannon.

Visitation is Monday from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm at the Boyle Funeral Home at 322 Main Ave., Weston.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 1pm at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Richard McGuire officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Weston.

The American Legion Post 166 and V.F.W. Post 5131 and the D.A.V. Chapter 51 of Jane Lew will be conducting military rites.
