KITTLE, NORMA ELIZABETH, 88, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

She was an executive manager with Tupperware where she had worked for more than 48 years and was still working until recently.

She was a Top Recruiter for Tupperware and had won numerous awards. Norma was also a member of Southeast Christian Church.

Survivors include her four children, Sandy Evans, Norma Mouser (John), Bobbi Camfield (Monte) and Buddy Kittle (Angie); nine grandchildren, Bob Evans, Natalie King, Kimberly Henshaw, John Mouser II, Tyler Stewart, Josh Kittle, Hannah Kittle, Evan Stewart and Grace Kittle; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday and noon-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Sanfra �Sandy� Rae Evans age 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, Kentucky.

Born June 6, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert Kittle and the late Norma Walters Kittle.

Sandy previously worked as a Tupperware Manager in the Louisville area. She worked at Travel Options in Louisville for 10 years.

She loved nature and animals, particularly, feeding the birds and her flowers.

Her greatest joy came from being a sister, mother and �Gigi� to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She treasured the time she had with her nieces and great nieces, sharing her cooking techniques. Her strong faith in God was such an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by one son Robert �Bob� (Jeanine) Evans of Gracey, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Bridget Tyler Evans (Raymond) Stewart, Levi (Alicia) Hickerson; three great grandchildren Aspen Hickerson, Gannon Hickerson, and Raylan Stewart. One brother, Robert �Buddy� (Angie) Kittle; two sisters Bobbi (Monty) Camfield, and Norma (John) Mouser, all of Louisville. Several nieces, nephew, great nieces, great great nieces, and great great nephew also survive.

We invite her friends and loved ones to join her family to celebrate her life. Sandy loved to cook and share her favorite recipes. John Clinton Mouser II, 34, of Taylorsville passed away Thursday as the result of an automobile accident.

He was an employee of UPS with the World Wide Dedicated Services Division. John was a graduate of Trinity High School.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jennifer Gregory Mouser; parents, John C and Norma K. Mouser of Louisville; two children Emily and Eric;

two sisters, Natalie King and Kimberly Henshaw; four nieces, Morgan and Taylor King, Willow and Lucca Henshaw.

A service to celebrate the life of John will be held at 12 NOON Monday, August 30, 2010 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy the family has requested memorial gifts to the American Humane Society.

FINCHVILLE, KY (WAVE) - One man is dead after he hit an embankment, flipping his truck in Shelby County.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. August 26 on Fisherville Road near the intersection with Taylorsville Road in Finchville.

According to Major Jason Rice with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the Ford F-250 pickup was westbound on Fisherville Road when he came over a short hill and ran off the right shoulder of the road. Rice said the driver then overcorrected and hit the embankment, flipping the truck. The man was dead at the scene.

"We do know it's a white male and he appears to be in his mid 30s," said Rice.

Rice later identified the victim as 34-year-old John Mouser from Taylorsville.

No one else was involved in the single vehicle accident. Rice says speed may be factor in the crash.

KITTLE, GILBERT E. "GIL" born January 17, 1927 passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Gil was vice president of Commonwealth Land Title Company, retiring after 35 years of public relations.

A member of Beargrass Christian Church, he served as a deacon and elder as well as president of Friendship Sunday School Class, was a Navy veteran, graduated from Male High School in 1946. After returning from the Navy he attended the University of Louisville as the first G.I.Bill recipient in the state.

In 1955 he worked as a construction analyst for the Veterans Administration. He was a member of Hunting Creek Country Club, since 1978, a 32nd Degree Mason, 50-year member of Grand Lodge of Kentucky, Preston Lodge #281.

He had many awards and Honors during his career... 1987 was inducted into "The Society of Honored Associates, (National Homebuilders)". The first Associate Member to serve on the National Board. He was inducted into the "Kentucky Homebuilders Hall of Fame"1993. An award is now named "The Gilbert E. Kittle Honored Associate Award" to a member who has shown the leadership and devotion that Gil always had, was the only associate member to receive The Mortgage Banker of the Year" Award from the MBA of Kentucky. Louisville Homebuilders Association was his greatest love.

He served on many committees, as an associate member served on the HBAL Board.

Gil also served as president of "The Louisville Breakfast Club" and was a member for over 30 years. He taught real estate school for many years, becoming an associate member of "Louisville Board of Realtors," seeing many of his students at work, selling real estate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Phoebe Kittle; his brothers, Eugene, Robert, and Marlin Kittle, and sister Ethel Willard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte S. Baker Kittle; son, David Kittle (Ellen), daughter, Carol Smith; loving and caring stepchildren, Paul Baker, Pamela Bockwinkel (Glen) and Deborah Baker; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their grateful gratitude to caregivers Candi Weizel and Hosparus ( Margerite Cory) and Veterans Administration.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 2-6 pm at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road with inurnment at Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, KY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his church Beargrass Christian Church or Hosparus.

Carol Jean Kittle Smith Age 68, passed away on Sunday October 28, 2018.

She recently retired from Beargrass Christian Church where she was blessed to care for children each day.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew W. �Chris� Smith, her father Gilbert E. Kittle and her mother Jean Kittle Diersen.

Carol is survived by her [step] children Nancy Ann Ewing (James), David T. Smith (Diana), grandchildren Connor and Jessie Ewing, a brother David G. Kittle (Ellen), a stepbrother Michael Diersen (Nikki), her stepmother Charlotte Kittle, four nieces and two nephews.

Carol loved her family, her church and her special neighbors George & Joan and Matt & Catherine.

The Service will be held Friday at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road, 1:00 pm. Inurnment in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. Pearsons is in charge of the arrangements. Contributions may be made to Beargrass Christian Church or Habitat for Humanity

She was born June 20, 1925, in Pennsylvania Township, the daughter of Lee Roy and Nellie Marie Hardin Kittle. She married Kenneth Yardley in 1950 in Mason City; he died in 1995.

Mrs. Yardley graduated from Easton High School. She worked for Lee Brothers, Kairos and the state of Illinois in Mason City. She also owned and operated the Book Nook in Mason City. She was a member of Mason City Assembly of God and Mason City Women's Club.

Survivors: niece, Sandi (husband, Ken) Cunningham of Mason City; nephew, Larry (wife, Linda) Rigdon of Normal; and four great-nephews.

Mr. David Rodney Minton, age 77, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

He was born on Friday, August 11, 1944 in Louisville, KY to the late Edward and Francis Minton. He was a member of Blue Lick Memorial Union Missionary Baptist Church and a Navy Veteran.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sharon Minton; his son, Aaron David Minton; his siblings, Carolyn Jones, James Minton and Constance Paterson; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the chapel of Blue Lick Memorial Union Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Penn Run Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home and on Saturday 11am until the time of his service at 12 pm at the church.

On January 2, 2018, at 85 years old, Thomas Allen Kittle, of Woodland Park, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord.

Tom was born on May 1, 1932 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the parents of James and Carrie Kittle.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy, where he met and married Shirley Robinson on June 16, 1951. Shirley was his best friend and the love of his life. After serving in the military, Tom earned his electronics degree at San Diego State University and began his 35-year career with IBM.

Throughout life, Tom was an active leader in his church as a deacon, in choir and lay preacher. Tom also served as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept., Captain of the Boulder County Sheriff's Reserve, was a volunteer with the Woodland Park Police, and as a Bailiff in Teller County Teen Court.

Tom headed up the Woodland Park school's crossing guard program and provided security for school. He was lovingly known as "Mr. Skittles" by the kids.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years who passed away on January 1, 2008. He is survived by their four children: Thomas Kittle, David Kittle, Cheryl Tolson, and Lora Ehrichs, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at High View Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 1 p.m.

Doris Ann Vetter, 93, of Fishers, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on December 28, 1929 to Sylvester and Susie (Simpson) Kreinbrink in Louisville, Kentucky.

Doris worked with her husband in their business, Vetter's Magnavox in Columbus. She was a member of Zonta International and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Doris enjoyed reading and spending time at the pool with family and friends. She was active in the Bartholomew County Senior Center and collected angel figurines. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children, Jeanette Gumbel, Donna Boeshe, Frank (Susan) Vetter III, and Pam (Karl) Friedline, brother, Don (JoAnn) Kreinbrink; 11 grandchildren, Mathew, Megan, Jenny (Rik), Jason (Laura), Christina, Laura (Larry), Brian, David (Courtney), Scott (Melissa), Heather (Mike), and Sara (John); 14 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Alyssa, Grayson, Brittney, Joe, Coleman, Lucy, Jake, Tyler, Caleb, James, Mia, and Layla; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Avery and Milo; and her son-in-law, Jim (JoAnna) Gatten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vetter Jr.; daughter, Sandy Gatten; sister, Shirley Graff; great-grandson, Zackary; and sons-in-law, Tom Gumbel and Ralph Boesche.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with services at 5:00 pm, on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.

Jeanette Ann Gumbel of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away March 30, 2025 at Bloom at Willow surrounded by loving and caring hands. She was born on February 14, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Frank and Doris Ann (Krienbrink) Vetter.

Jeanette graduated from Columbus High School in 1967. She went on to earn a Bachelors in Special Education from Ball State University where she met her husband. She later earned a Masters in Special Education from Butler University.

Jeanette married Thomas (Tom) Gumbel on August 7, 1971. The two were married until Tom�s death on April 19, 2008.

Together they raised two children Matthew and Megan. Together they created a welcoming home. The family were proud residents of Lawrence Township for over 21 years.

Jeanette started her teaching career with Indianapolis Public Schools. She then became a stay-at-home mom to focus on raising her children and those of others. She returned to teaching at Lawrence North High School as a Special Educator retiring in 2016 after nearly 30 years. Teaching was her true passion. She believed all students had potential. She never stopped at no; frequently creating curriculum and programs so each student could succeed.

Jeanette epitomized a Valentine�s birthday by living a life full of love. All of her actions were rooted in heart. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She shared this same love with her fur babies. She took her duty as dog mom and dog grammy seriously; always ensuring there were toys and snacks.

She was a hippie at heart often appearing in tie dye. She loved music; especially the Beatles. She enjoyed watching sports. The beach was her happy place where she found peace in watching the waves crash. She also simply loved being with people. She gained joy through seeing others experience joy. In her final days, she reminded us that we always had fun. We challenge each of you to find the joy and fun in the simplicity of each day.

Jeanette leaves behind a legacy. Remaining to ensure this legacy lives on are her children Matthew Gumbel and Megan Gumbel; her brother Frank Vetter Jr (Sue); sisters Donna Boesche and Pam Friedline (Karl); lifelong friends Carla Mathison and Kay Green; several nieces and nephews and endless friends and former students.

Preceding Jeanette in death were her husband Thomas Gumbel; parents Frank Sr and Doris Ann Vetter; in-laws John and Loretta Gumbel; sister Sandra Gatten; brother-in-law Ralph Boesche; second daughter Nancy Green and many loving fur babies.

Please join us to rejoice and celebrate Jeanette�s life. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with funeral services at 11:00 am, on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. We encourage you to honor Jeanette by wearing your favorite tie dye or sports team gear.

Joann retired from Kentuckiana Food Service.

She was born on June 1, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to Carl and Mildred Davis . Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William R. Vetter, daughter, Cheri L. Masters, and two brothers.

Joann is survived by her daughter, Vickie Vetter, son , Carl R. (Beth) Vetter, sister, Elizabeth (Michael) Crady, granddaughter, Stephanie (Michael) Henson, grandson, Kenneth (Michelle) Vetter, and her great grandchildren, Emily, Liam and Ellie.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Norman Ray Masters; her mother, Joann Vetter; [step] daughters, Sandra Ray Masters and Kim Masters; [step] sons, Marty and Scotty Masters; a sister Vickie Vetter; brother, Carl Vetter; and several grandchildren.

Cheri�s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Saturday from 3-8 pm at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. 1956 - 1967 - Shirley becomes involved with BOTH Robert Nealy Osborne and Robert Lynn Sims. I am unable to find a marriage record with either, for Shirley. Based on the birth records in KY for all of the kids, Shirley spent a few years with each man back-and-forth between 1956 - 1967.

Of note about both Roberts...they both had other marriages or relationships and had additional children from those unions.

In 1974, when Robert Osborne dies, Shirley is mentioned in his obituary as his wife along with all of the children named both Osborne and Sims.

In 1996, when Robert Sims passes away, Shirley is mentioned in his obituary as his wife along with all of the Osborne and Sims children. It is unclear if the Shirley mentioned in this obit is Shirley Vetter or Shirley Reddicks. I suspect Shirley Reddicks because Shirley Vetter kept her last name of Osborne as seen in her daughter Valerie's obituary in 2021.

For this family, you have to do searches using both Sims and Osborne. The two last names are interchanged in the historical records, as if they can't remember (or care) what they used before. For instance one birth record for Barbara uses maiden name Sims and another uses Osborne as her maiden name.

He is survived by his wife, Tasha; children, Angel and Melissa; parents, Cindy Horton and Tony Osborne; stepmother, Bettylou Osborne; grandparents, Dixie Jett, Shirley Osborne and Peter and Julie Gall; brothers, Jeremy Osborne, Josh and Joe Booher (kick rocks); five nieces and five nephews.

Valerie Hayes, 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born on August 3, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky. Family was very important to Valerie, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Being a good mother and Nana was the most important thing to her.

Valerie was a �country lady� at heart. She enjoyed sipping on her sweet tea, having a smoke, listening to Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn, and being outside to just sit back and take it all in. Valerie had an infectious laugh and was always very entertaining, especially when she started talking her country lingo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Valerie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy E. Hayes; and her father, Robert Osborne.

Left to cherish her memory, Valerie leaves behind 2 children, Shirley Hayes and Brandon Hayes; her mother, Shirley Osborne; 7 siblings, Debbie Rumbaugh (Terry), Tony Osborne (Betty Lou), Barbara Hutcherson, Jeffery Sims (Karen), Stanley Osborne, Robert Osborne (Kelly), and Terry Parrish (Wendell); 2 grandchildren, Aiden Hayes and Austin Hayes; best friend, Jackie Clark (Bryan); and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Valerie Hayes will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 12 PM at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Bethany Memorial Cemetery will follow the service on Monday.

James Edmund Pope, 67 of Chuckatuck went to be with the Lord at his residence with his family by his side. Affectionately known as �POP POP�. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Pamela Elliott Pope.

He was the son of the late Leroy Pope Jr. and Mary Alice Woodward Pope. He is survived by his daughters Rhonda Pope Nelson (Barrett) and Mary Pope, his son James William Pope (Ashby), three grandchildren Makala, Gracie and A.J. His brothers Leroy Pope III (Lynn) and Will Pope (Mary Lou). His sister in law Kathy Moss and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship and the Men�s Fellowship also he was past member of the Chuckatuck Ruritan Club. He had most recently worked as a salesman at Lowes of Suffolk and had previously retired from Philip Morris.

Linda Rae Hockenbury Kennedy, 50, died peacefully at home in Deltaville, Va. on September 11, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert T. and Evy S. Hockenbury.

She is survived by her husband, James G. Kennedy Sr.; sister, Lori Ann Saxon; nephew, Steven MacMillan of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Dennis Hockenbury of Houston, Texas. Survivors also include aunts, Margaret Fleming, Helen Conyers, Dorothy Lind; and her uncle, C.D. "Enos" Slaughter, as well as his wife, Brenda, all of Richmond. She also leaves behind her furry friends, Gracie, Sammy and Abby.

Linda will be remembered for her outrageous sense of humor and fun loving spirit. She will live in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Memorial service to be held at a later date.

Steven Michael MacMillan, 32, of Huntersville died November 24, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 27, 1987 in Richmond, VA to Lori Ann Furr and Michael Jerome MacMillan.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his girlfriend Kristen McCall; son, Steven M. MacMillan, Jr. and daughter, Hayleigh Rae MacMillan; and grandfather Bruce MacMillan of Richmond, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 29 in the chapel of James Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

I have yet to find any historical documents for Sam with the middle name of Everend. Possible middle name might actually be Everett or Emmett. In all of my 70 years, I have never seen a common use of this name. Googling the name, you will only find a video game, a horror writer with a pen name of H Everend, or a rock band.

She was a former member of Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Donnell (Dean); and granddaughter, Jessica Donnell.

Doris Jean (Brightwell) Hazle, 90, passed away on July 8th where she resided at The Forum at Brookside �Ambassador Suites�.

She was born in Louisville to Walter and Virginia Brightwell. She graduated from Louisville Girls High School in 1950. She attended college classes later in life.

She enjoyed academics, teaching her children, sewing, dancing, theater and was quite the financial investor!

She was very quiet, intelligent and of very strong resolve, thus her yes was yes and no was no. Most notably though was her kind and sweet nature.

She was Baptist in faith and held the Bible as the foundation of her family from generations to be passed on to the next generations.

She was the wife to Robert E. Hazle Jr. for 63 years. He was employed by Ford Motor Company from 1954-1992. She was the mother to sons Brian (Joan), Glenn (Rhonda), Gary (Debbie), and daughter Cynthia Kershner Duncan (Chip).

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother John Brightwell.

She is survived by brother Danny Brightwell (Ruthann), 10 grandchildren: Stephanie Wilding (Chris), Lucas Hazle (Haley Killian), Eddie Hazle (Lauren), Braden Hazle, Trey Neal (Carie), Kershners: Brooke, Logan, Kelsey, Caleb & Rylee.

8 Great Grandchildren: Lauren & Heather Wilding, Zoey & Gwenyth Killian, Everett Hazle, Brantley Burriss and Beau Kershner, Quaid Neal.

Kelsey Noelle Kershner, 22, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 12, 2025. Born healthy and full term on December 23, 2002, everything perfect soon began to quickly change.

Following her two month well baby visit, which included all the Dr. promoted vaccinations, she immediately and unfairly, suffered from unstoppable seizures. This set a course of numerous medical interventions, that unfortunately came with further health consequences and started a catalyst of more injuries and a devastating prognosis. She was left severely mentally and physically disabled.

After many attempts at seeking help and travels to find answers, it was finally recommended to keep her home and to let her live in peace.

Kelsey epitomized this peace that surpassed understanding, as shared in Philippians 4:7. Through it all, her indomitable spirit became bigger than her prognosis, and she brought that spirit out in others through her smiles in the face of adversity, and her unspeakable joy and laughter. This unbreakable spirit will continue to remind us how to live out our own challenges � THANK YOU KELSEY for sharing your heavenly gifts and talents!

Without ever speaking a word, she managed to speak volumes about resilience, strength, peace and God�s great mercy! She completed all years of the public school system and made an impact to those who worked with her and peers that observed and helped her. I�m sure many feel she changed them, for the better! God often uses people who are considered weak or insignificant in the world to accomplish great things! Kelsey�s life will continue to have a profound impact, not only in us, but on the world. We give all glory to God for her life! She valiantly served a mighty purpose! Her work here may be finished, but as she is reunited with her earthly father, who passed before her in 2015, we are reminded of his favorite quote, �What we do in life, echoes in eternity.� Her mission field just moved higher and her life, as well as that of her fathers, will forever be honored in our hearts and through our actions. Romans 8:18, �The pain you are feeling now cannot compare to the joy that is coming.� We are honored to have had Kelsey as a part of our family, our school, our community and our lives. Most importantly she is a part of our hearts, and our hearts have grown a lot by loving and being loved by her. Rest in peace sweet girl! We love you!

Ruthann and Dan Brightwell, of Lake Toxaway, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, April 13, 2018, at Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area in Suches, Ga.

They were married April 13, 1968, in Largo, Fla. They have two children, son, John Brightwell, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and daughter, Kimberly Esterline, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Ashley Esterline and Joey Esterline, of Palm Harbor, and Megan Brightwell and Jacob Sprouse, of Brevard.

Both are employed by the Cradle of Forestry as managers of Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area in Suches, and are retired after 31 years, from the automotive service and towing service in Florida, North Carolina, and Kentucky.
