Mary Lavina Stewart
  Mary's middle name is spelled differently in some family trees.  There is Levinia, Levenia, Levina, Levena, etc.  There are no historical documents that support these other spellings.  Mary's middle name with the spelling of Lavina does appear on two supporting documents; her second husband's WWI Registration and her death certificate.

On the certificate, Mollie may have been a nickname for Mary or it was written down wrong.  Also, for her last name, the spelling of Stuart was used instead of Stewart.

Of note, some family trees list the parents of William Y Childers as Robert Thomas Childers and Mary Ellen Cummins.  If this is true, then children William and Lizzie, who marry sister and brother Henry and Bertie Childers children of Frank Monroe Childers and Mary E Jinks, married their first cousins.

  1891 - Family trees have William Yancey Childers passing away 1891, although no grave marker has been found yet.  Some have his death in Tom Green Co., TX.  I strongly think it was in Falls Co., TX.  If William's parentage is correct, then he may be buried at the Powers Chapel Cemetery in Rosebud, Falls Co., TX where his brother Frank is.

As far as I can tell, none of the children of William Ernest Childers and Bertie Jewel Childers had any children.  Also, the only child I could find who married, was Eugene Stewart Childers.

Eugene Childers, 90 of Cisco passed away at Homestead Nursing Center in Cisco on Wednesday September 23, 2009. Masonic graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.

Mr. Childers was born in Lott, Texas on April 15, 1919 to William Ernest and Birdie Jewel Childers. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Shacklett. Before retiring he worked for Lennox Air as an assembler. He was a member of East Cisco Baptist Church

He is survived by, Step-daughters: Virginia Wheatley of Cleburne and Leila Moore; grandchildren, Mitchell Bowers and Vikki Millsap, all of Cleburne .

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister.

FRED LEE CLIFTON, 64, passed away on August 3, 2007, at Clear Lake Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1943, in Houston, Texas to parents Freddie Lee and LaRue (Childers) Clifton.

Fred attended the Texas School for the Deaf, graduating in 1963. He attended Lee College, earning his Associates Degree in Technology and majoring in Electronics on May 21, 1971. Fred was a senior audio/electrical technician and developed communication equipment for the NASA space program.

Fred was a hard-working man, a devoted father, and a loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by parents Freddie Lee and LaRue (Childers) Clifton, sister Betty Dean and many aunt and uncles.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Clifton (wife Lea) and Peter Clifton (wife Celina); his brothers Mike Clifton (wife Cynthia) and Jack Clifton; his grandchildren Lauren Clifton, Catherine Clifton and Avery Clifton; his nieces and nephews Jacqueline Clifton, Samuel Clifton, Diana Creighton (husband Greg), Kristy Dean, and Jennifer Bell (husband Wayne) [stet] (should be David); his great nieces and nephews Sharon Creighton, Brynne Clifton, Brooke Clifton and Thaddeus Bell.

  1939 - City Directory - El Paso, Texas - Rawlings N and Ora L living at Federal Correctional Inst, where he works.  This is probably still La Tuna which is located on the far west end of the county.
  1940 - Census - Rawlings and his third wife Ora are still living in El Paso, TX.  The two children with them are Rawlings and Katherine's.  Rawlings and Ora have two more children of their own later.

Rosamond Cleo Hale / Lane and William "Bill" Reese Davison
  Cleo's father, when one looks up the TX birth certificates, shows her father as Fred Burns Lane.  What struck me as unusual, is the form used for the birth certificate.  This form was revised 1/80.  Meaning this birth certificate was a revised version of the 1923 original.  Also, it states her mother Rosamond, was 41 at the time of birth which is inaccurate. Cleo's mother was 22 when she gave birth to her.  You can usually find the original and the revised version of birth certificates next to each other on the film rolls.  However, the original appears to have disappeared. 

This led me to the TX birth index, which is a separate database from the TX birth certificates.  The birth index does not show a child with the last name of Lane born Jan 15, 1923.  However it does show a child listed as "Hale, Rawlings N. Inf. of" born on Jan 15, 1923, in Harris Co., TX.  The certificate number given in the index is 3361.  The same exact number as the TX Birth Certificate.

  Rosamond does not marry Fred Burns Lane until 1926. 

Which means:

1)  Cleo is the birth daughter of Rawlings Newell Hale, Jr and Fred Burns Lane most likely adopted her after his marriage to Rosamond Kathryn Olson Hale.

OR.......AND THIS IS A VERY BIG OR

2)  Rosamond was already pregnant with Fred's child when she married Rawlings.  After the birth of Cleo, Rawlings discovers this and divorces Rosamond Olson. 

I am leaning more towards option one.
