About the last name of Dismuke or Dismukes.  The use of the "s" at the end of the name can be considered correct.  The omission of the "s" could also be considered correct.

If you are doing research, use both variations of the name in your search.  Documents found, may use both variations of the name within the same branch of the family.  Even in cemeteries, the same family will use both spellings.  Instead of fighting over which spelling is correct, just accept that both spellings are correct unless you have original source documentation that can track the specific usage of either spelling over a period of time.

Mary was first married to Robert Hardie (Hardee) Sep 3, 1858, Harris Co., GA.  Son Robert, who appears in 1870 Census, was the son of Robert Hardie not Edmond.  The marriage license for first husband Robert Hardie is found under the last name Hardee. 

For the marriage license between Edmond and and Mary F, Mary F's last name is spelled "Hardy", not Hardie.  Also, the marriage year is listed as 1863.  When you look at the actual certificate, it says 1864.

1910 - Census - Cannot find this family.  Searched each family member individually
 
1905 - 1911 - Family trees, with no source information on ancestry, report that wife Minerva died Nov 20, 1911, Silsbee, Hardin Co, TX.  I searched for all deaths in TX on this date and could find no record of this death.  There is a grave marker for a Minerva Ella Dismukes at the Knupple Cemetery, Silsbee, Hardin Co., TX.  However, the photographer was too lazy to dig down in front of the marker to uncover the dates.  There is some lettering below the "---va" that could be "OC----"  which could be "October", Minerva's month of birth.

1911 - 1920 - Henry marries Minnie Lee Manning Reese, widow of Henry Reese (1874 - 1911).
In the 1910 Census, Minnie is found in Jefferson Co., TX with her first husband Henry and two children; Thelma age 6 and Leslie age 5.  Son Leslie is found with Henry Dismuke and his new wife in the 1920 Census.

1921 - Henry Jackson Dismukes passes away btwn Mar 27-30, 1921, Goose Creek, Harris Co., TX.  Son Sidney was informant.

There is no exact date of death given.  You will note on the death certificate that the last time the doctor saw him was on Mar 27.  He was buried on Apr 1.  Therefore, death was between Mar 27 and Mar 30, 1921

1930 - Census - Second wife Minnie is living with her son Leslie F under the last name Reese in Houston, Harris Co., TX.  No younger children are living with her.  Which means she probably did not have any children with Henry Dismuke.  If she did, they died prior to 1930.

  1912 - S B Dismukes marries Emmie May Whatley, 1912, Jasper Co., TX.  In the SS Application for Opal M Dismukes, Opal  (267-36-7313) lists her parents as Sidney B Dismukes and mother as Emmie M Whatley
  1917 - WWI Registration - Sidney claims that he is a widower providing support for two children.  However, Emma Mae Whatley  did not die until 1959  (according to family tree on ancestry.com, which is questionable).  One child was Opal M.  Unable to find other child he is referring to.

  1920 - Census living as a boarder Alexandria, Rapides Parrish, LA at age 33.  Profession - Mill Wright.  He is listed as single with no children living with him.  Of note...the home Sidney is living in, is that of Henry W Pickels.  Pickels' daughter Cammie becomes his wife.

  1917 - WWI Registration for Rudolph says he has a wife and two children.  However, there are no children shown in any census records.  After looking through both birth and death certificates in TX for the years 1915-1920, I could find no Brown children born or died under Rudolph and Ettie names.  The fact that he says there are two children, means they were live births.  There is a possibility that both children died before the 1920 Census.  Possibly during influenza outbreak 1918-1919?

  1956 - 1974 - Sometime between 1956 - 1974 Ettie marries George W Conner.  George was previously married to Freida Kollatschny.  Since Freida did not die until 1994, George and Freida must have been divorced prior to his marriage to Ettie.
  1974 - Second husband George W Conner passes away.  Note the residential address on death certificate of 545 Hoffman.  This is the same home that Ettie lived in with her husband Rudolph.  (see census and WWII above)

Fred Allan Beverly, age 89, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2008 in Georgetown, Texas.

Fred was born on January 7, 1919 to Lee Allan and Bess Ann Beverly. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Fred was a 1941 Chemical Engineer graduate of the University of Texas. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Later retiring from the Naval Reserve as a Lt. Cmdr. Fred then went on to have a career with Mobil Oil before retiring after 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Yvonne D. Beverly; sons, Robert A. Beverly and James R. Beverly; daughter, Ann Y. Wadleigh; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Interment will follow at Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Georgetown, TX. Serving as pallbearers were Russell W. Beverly, Eric A. Beverly, Alexander D. Wadleigh, John C. Wadleigh, Joel F. Wadleigh, and Eric A. Beverly Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Carl Dismukes Jr.

LINDA HITTER, 74, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Irving, TX.

She was born to Albert “Ed” Starkey and Gloria (Dismukes) Starkey on April 1, 1941 in Jewett, TX where she grew up and attended school. Linda married Glenn J. Hitter on January 14, 1972. Linda was a skilled nurse for over 40 years working in Austin and Beaumont where she and Glenn resided for over 30 years.  Later in life, Linda returned to school at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and earned her B.A. in Philosophy in 2002.
She earned her Masters degree in moral theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington, D.C. in 2007 graduating Magna cum Laude at the age of 66.

Linda was a lifelong learner and was an insatiable reader and writer. She penned a book that is currently being considered by a publisher. Linda was loved by so many and will be remembered for her compassion, sense of humor, intellect, passion for life and unfailing obedience to God. Linda was a secular Discalced Carmelite and humbly adopted a life of prayer. She devoted her life to her family whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Glenn Hitter of Irving; her son, Mark Glenn of Austin; her daughter, Jennifer Clark and son-in-law John Clark of Clearwater, FL, and her daughter, Maria Kahlig and son-in-law Bryan Kahlig of Aubrey, TX. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Latisha Shelton, Dana Glenn, Alayna and Cody Clark, Molly, Lucy, Michael and Emily Kahlig; as well as two great grandchildren: Tyler and Ryleigh Guthrie.
